Chapter 289: Chapter 44 The King Dies for the State

The scene had fallen into a deadly silence, so quiet that even the drop of a needle could be heard clearly.

"Your Majesty," Hepi looked at the unconscious Nathias on the ground and spoke with a hoarse voice, "we have lost."

Naga Queen gently raised her hand, and Nathias automatically flew to her side.

As the seawater flowed, Nathias’s injuries visibly healed at a rapid pace.

"Naga Queen!" A demigod is indeed powerful, but as the leader of a nation, this was not the time to submit, "you have broken the rules."

Naga Queen looked at Konstantin and said, "I know."

Under the gradually spreading ripples of the Naga Queen, the sea tribe’s army’s wounds slowly healed. As they recovered and the empire grew weaker, Konstantin gave a bitter smile, "But you still did it."

Naga Queen, with a gentle expression, said, "They are all children of the sea and my children. I cannot just watch them march to their deaths."

"I am willing to bear all the infamy, I wish for the sea tribe to prosper forever!" Naga Queen’s voice grew firmer and her domain rapidly expanded—it seemed that the Naga Queen had made up her mind to enter the fray herself.

A demigod joining the battle, what a joke, even if all the forces of the Continent of God’s Grace were united, they might not shake the opposition.

There are many kinds of demigods, and Naga Queen is one of the top kinds, only a step away from being a Heavenly God.

"Then let us battle!" Konstantin clenched the Holy Emperor Sword, regaining his strength. Racial war was no child’s play. What could you say when the Naga Queen, lowering her status, decided to fight? Moral condemnation? The only thing to blame is that the Sacred Empire doesn’t have a demigod.

"You old woman who has lived for ten thousand years!" Just then, Lando hurried back from the flank of the battlefield, accompanied by Ze Xiu.

Naga Queen then looked over and honestly, being described as an old woman? That was a first, and somewhat amusing, wasn’t it?

"How dare you!"

"How dare you insult Her Majesty, forward! Brothers, kill this b****!" When the queen was insulted, the sea tribe soldiers, of course, couldn’t sit still and rushed out to fight Lando.

Naga Queen gently raised her hand, stopping the commotion of her people, and quietly said to Lando, "You are strange, emitting an aura that I find repulsive."

"Heh!" Lando sneered, "You rely on your strong power, thinking my empire has no one, right?"

The queen nodded, "You could say that."

"You think my Human Race has no supreme powerhouse?" Lando rolled up her sleeves and angrily said.

"Oh?" Naga Queen tilted her head, carefully sizing up Lando, "You seem not to be lying, but neither does it seem true."

With a demigod’s ability to probe hearts, if Lando was lying, she would have no place to escape. But strangely, Naga Queen didn’t feel that Lando was lying.

Ze Xiu slapped his forehead; being the leader of the Hell Sect for more than twenty years, even the most defiant believers were manageable, but nothing compared to the headache of this moment.

He understood very well what Lando meant; the Hell Sect going all out to aid the empire in repelling the sea tribe’s invasion was all orchestrated by Lando.

The Demon Lords from Hell would never agree to the sect aiding the empire; they would rather see the human empire fall sooner to allow the Hell Sect to replace them and spread the power of Hell.

Only Lando, persistently persuading Ze Xiu, took three days to make up his mind to go against the Demon Lord’s will and fully support the empire.

When Ze Xiu met with Konstantin, he even suggested that the Demon Lord help in the battle, for under the shine of the Holy Emperor Sword, the Demon Lord would be like having a pass, capable of descending into the Continent of God’s Grace.

Konstantin considered it too, and for this reason, he had Archimonde and Konstantin meet to discuss in detail.

Not to mention the series of demands from the Demon Lord, just the condition of handing over the Holy Emperor Sword, Konstantin could never accept. Handing the Holy Emperor Sword to the Demon Lord? Would it not be akin to letting the demons step out of hell and rule the Star Sea? This result would not be much better than the outcome of this war.

"Demigod powerhouse, I am indeed curious to see one," Naga Queen softly spoke, almost like issuing a command.

"Demigod?" Lando sneered, "How shameful to bring out a demigod, what I mentioned as a supreme powerhouse is a true Heavenly God."

Lando’s expression remained calm, facing Naga Queen directly.

Naga Queen smiled slightly, "Little girl, I am well aware you are not lying, but I am sure you cannot summon this Heavenly God."

It’s over,

Lando sighed in her heart, indeed, Naga Queen was not so easily deceived.

Seeing through Lando’s schemes, the Naga Queen no longer hesitated and called back the Sea God Trident, pointing it at Konstantin, "As the mother of the sea race, I declare war on the human emperor!"

Konstantin straightened up and said in a deep voice, "I, accept your challenge!"

"Ze Xiu, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and summon the great lord," Lando urged desperately, "Once Konstantin dies, the Sacred Empire will truly collapse."

"Stop messing around. The Demon Lord can’t cross over, and the Naga Queen knows that, so what good is a bluff?" Ze Xiu frowned deeply, clearly distressed. The fall of the empire was not good news for the Hell Sect; the demons aimed to conquer the Continent of God’s Grace. But if the Sacred Empire fell, where would the human race stand on the Continent of God’s Grace? Then the Hell Sect could only mess around in other lower realms, losing their footing in the realm of God’s Grace and eventually being abandoned by the demons.

Gritting his teeth, Ze Xiu finally took Lando’s advice, and the green magic power began to expand, "Summon—Demon Lord Archimonde!"

With a thunderous roar, the followers all knelt to the ground and worshipped, "We welcome the great lord!"

The Naga Queen slowly turned her head as a gigantic figure slowly emerged in the dark space corridor.

"Ze Xiu... why have you summoned me?" Archimonde’s deep voice carried a hint of anger.

"My lord, please help the human empire through this crisis!" Ze Xiu also knelt on the ground, pleading with him.

Archimonde spoke indifferently, "I’ve said it before, if Konstantin is willing to hand over the Holy Emperor Sword, I might consider wiping out those reptiles in the sea for him."

As he spoke, sensing a threatening aura not far away, Archimonde looked up and chuckled coldly, "Lowly reptiles, enjoy your brief victory, for the great demon army will eventually flatten God’s Grace!"

"Archimonde," the Naga Queen looked at the Demon Lord directly, "you’re merely a lucky survivor from the human race’s slaughter back in the day. If you dare to set foot in God’s Grace, the sea race will completely crush you."

"Ha!" Archimonde didn’t argue, but he was seething inside, "If it weren’t for my current inability to cross realms, I’d tear your mouth apart."

The Naga Queen raised an eyebrow, "You think lighting the Divine Fire makes you a true Heavenly God? You’d better not set foot in God’s Grace, and live humbly in Hell, enjoying eternal life."

"Good, very good, you’ve successfully angered me, worm," Archimonde extended his hand, reaching out from the space corridor, and immediately the will of the realm descended, continuously suppressing Archimonde’s power, trying to push him back into the space corridor.

Archimonde endured great pain and roared, "Konstantin, grant me sanctuary!"

This kind of freelancing job is not to be wasted. Konstantin’s Imperial Sword pointed, golden light shone on Archimonde, the will of the realm formed a cyclops, glaring fiercely at Konstantin, then disappeared.

Archimonde had crossed over!

The Naga Queen took a deep breath, the sea rose, and a vast whirlwind of magic power stirred up, enveloping her realm fully.

"Worm, pay the price for your offense!" Archimonde’s fingers slightly bent as he pointed remotely at the Naga Queen.

In the azure storm, green magic power surged up, a meteor tore through the storm’s shackles, falling from the sky.

The Naga Queen raised the Seamount Trident to meet it head-on.

The immense destructive power swept across all directions, the sky shattered, revealing a vast mysterious starry river.

"Die!" Archimonde charged forward, taking out a huge mace charged with magic power, aiming it at the Naga Queen’s head.

Dang!

The Sea God Trident once again blocked Archimonde’s attack, the divine weapons collided, and Archimonde found himself at a disadvantage, retreating repeatedly.

"How does it feel, lowly demon?" the Naga Queen hovered midair, coldly watching the Demon Lord before her.

"Kill!" Archimonde, not one to accept a loss easily, unfolded his Heavenly God domain, and in an instant, all life forms within the defenses of Jinrui City were drained of life, turning into dry corpses.

Those below the Third Transition couldn’t react in time, and with a raise of Archimonde’s hand, millions of lives turned to dry bones. This riled up Konstantin. The human race could be defeated, but not like this, dying without value.

Just as Archimonde was about to unleash his major move, he suddenly felt the will of the realm descend again, glaring at Konstantin, "What have you done?"

"No! No!" Archimonde was shoved by a pair of invisible hands back into the space corridor, and Ze Xiu quickly closed it. If he had been any later, even he might have been sucked dry by Archimonde.

The Naga Queen’s eyes lowered sorrowfully over her dead people before turning to Konstantin, "You made the right choice. If you choose to surrender, I can designate an area for your human race."

"Sorry, the human race neither needs charity nor containment," Konstantin’s voice was hoarse as he once again raised the Imperial Sword at her, "The human race will never submit."

"Very well, I will give you a dignified funeral," the Naga Queen slightly raised her hand, and a torrent of violent magic power poured down, capable of tearing the opponent apart by the mere force of the magic wave.

"Slash!" Konstantin didn’t intend to defend; he staked his last breath, trading life for life, unleashing the strongest strike of the Holy Emperor Sword.
