Chapter 1557: Chapter 1557: Have a Good Time

The Green Dragon Legion didn’t pause for even a moment in the face of the defensive line formed by the players. Instead, they charged straight through, completely unstoppable in halting Starfire’s advance.

The retreating players could only curse in frustration, but it didn’t change the reality of their defeat.

They were the ones who attacked Starfire first, giving Starfire a justified reason to counter-attack. Even as they condemned Starfire, many tried to drag someone down with them in their plight.

What they didn’t realize, however, was that their actions had already placed them on the cursed blacklist of the Green Dragon Clan. Moreover, this wasn’t limited to the Green Dragons; the Dragon Clan held strong bonds of camaraderie—being hated by one meant being unwelcome by all.

But such grievances were merely ripples. With the Green Dragon Princess and Li Yao leading the charge as the sharpest spearheads, as long as the Demon Marshal didn’t make a move, anyone attempting to block Starfire’s army was akin to an ant trying to stop a chariot.

The powerful elites of Uldaman, who had initially wanted to deal with Li Yao’s arrogance, grew much more cautious after witnessing the brutal demise of a faction-level Dwarf general. One by one, they chose to focus on the enemies before them instead.

Under the leadership of the Green Dragon Princess and Li Yao, the aerial forces swept through the skies unopposed, mercilessly slaughtering Uldaman’s aerial units.

However, since neither of them possessed the overwhelming destructive power of a Demon Marshal, they didn’t carry the same level of intimidation.

Despite Li Yao and the Green Dragon Princess’s overwhelming dominance, their enemies were relentless, fighting desperately regardless of the cost.

Their strategy was clear: drown Li Yao with endless waves of manpower. But Li Yao wasn’t fighting alone—he had the Green Dragon Princess at his side.

The Green Dragon Princess’s greatest strength didn’t reside in her raw combat ability. Many of her skills were supportive, and the Green Dragon’s strongest trait was its unparalleled regenerative abilities.

Without the interference of powerful curses or severe wounds, the Green Dragon’s healing powers were astonishing.

Coupled with Li Yao’s bloodsucking ability, even when faced with overwhelming assaults, as long as the damage wasn’t fatal, they could recover swiftly. This ensured that both Li Yao and the Green Dragon Princess always stayed in peak fighting condition.

Furthermore, the Green Dragon Legion had caught up. Although the Uldaman Legion fought insanely, they simply couldn’t hold the line.

Some player legions even followed behind Starfire’s aerial forces, scavenging whatever gains they could. No one dared to target Starfire’s aerial units anymore—those who did were swiftly killed as enemies of the Uldaman forces.

In the distance, several elite players wielding formidable weapons were engaged in a fierce assault on the Demon Marshal. Despite being surrounded and outnumbered four to one, the Demon Marshal not only held her ground but also managed to suppress all four adversaries.

If not for their powerful weapons and unique abilities, the four would likely have already been slain by the Demon Marshal.

The Gnoll, in particular, bore the brunt of the Demon Marshal’s attacks. While fighting, he howled furiously, as he was the weakest among them.

His shield, stolen earlier by Li Yao, had greatly diminished his defensive capabilities. This made him an easy target for the Demon Marshal, who focused her attacks on him. His body was soon riddled with wounds.

The Demon Marshal’s aura became increasingly oppressive. With her black, shadowy Dark Touch weaving through the air and her weapon striking like thunder, the four defenders found themselves retreating repeatedly under her onslaught.

The NPC elites, despite being world-level chiefs themselves, had already distanced themselves from this battlefield. Without extraordinarily powerful weapons, they dared not intervene. Even the residual aftershocks from the ongoing clash were beyond what they could withstand.

However, some players displayed reckless audacity, risking their lives for military exploits by joining the faction heads in their siege on the Demon Marshal, continuously searching for chances to wound her.

Causing any harm to the Demon Marshal would earn them considerable military merits. But the risk of dying at any moment was extreme.

The Demon Marshal didn’t even bother to acknowledge the players. To her, they were insignificant. The mere residual effects of her Dark Touch and her battles against the four leaders were enough to obliterate them. The players’ attacks barely scratched her, and with four powerful opponents engaging her simultaneously, she had no time to pay them heed.

The battle had lasted more than half an hour, but it had reached a deadlock. Neither side could gain the upper hand.

"You pathetic worms, boasting of being powerful. When four of you gang up on me and still fail, isn’t that disgraceful?" The Demon Marshal lashed out with her Dark Touch, which transformed into countless chains that lashed wildly. Several players were instantly bound, crushed into bloody paste, while the four faction heads staggered backward.

But the Gnoll wasn’t so lucky—one of the chains struck him, sending him flying backward. The area where he was hit immediately turned a pallid gray, as if all its vitality had been drained away.

"You’re impossibly arrogant! Do you truly believe we’re out of tricks? Without a certain useless weakling dragging us down, no matter how transcendent you are, what could you do?" The Human General lifted his Warhammer, and the sky above burst with thunder. A bolt of lightning struck the hammer. "Dance of Thor!"

BOOM!

A colossal shadow of Thor enveloped the Human General. At that moment, he became possessed by Thor’s will, temporarily gaining the power of the thunder god.

"Verity Judgment: Shadow of Verity."

The Archangel raised the Spear of Truth aloft. A dense force of divine law radiated from him, enveloping his body. He grew in size, and two identical copies of himself materialized at his sides. Unlike the original Archangel, the copies had cold, emotionless gazes, with holy decrees flashing across their eyes.

"Mother Earth, your devoted servant implores your protection."

High Chieftain Bloodhoof called forth layers of dense Rock Armor, encasing his body and transforming him into a massive, stone-like Tauren.

"Damn it! Do you think you’re the only ones with trump cards? Bloodlust Transformation!"

The Gnoll Chieftain finally steadied himself, retrieving a crimson orb from his belongings and crushing it fiercely.

ROAR!

The Gnoll Chieftain entered a berserk state, his fur turning blood-red. His body swelled in size, and his eyes were consumed entirely by bloodlust and ferocity, abandoning all traces of reason.

The four leaders unleashed their ultimate abilities. Together, they severed the Demon Marshal’s wildly lashing Dark Touch, finally gaining a temporary upper hand.

"Who told you this was my final trick? You think only you can summon reinforcements?" The Demon Marshal retreated swiftly, tossing two glowing crystals into the air while chanting an obscure incantation at lightning speed.

A dark aura filled with vile negative energy enveloped the four leaders, forcing them to halt their offensive. Their expressions grew grave as they stared at the crystal-like objects gleaming ominously before them.

"Forcing me to consume my essence... You four little creatures are truly formidable."

A cold, chilling voice seeped into everyone’s ears, forcing an eerie silence across the entire battlefield. Every ongoing fight ground to a halt.

"How intriguing. It seems there’s someone here who possesses... Hmm, how entertaining. Don’t hurry to retreat just yet. I’ll send two assistants to make this more fun for you. Life would be too dull otherwise."

BOOM! BOOM!

The two crystals exploded, releasing twin clouds of dark mist. From within, two terrifying monstrosities emerged before everyone’s eyes.

One was instantly recognized by many as a Faceless One, while the other resembled an octopus, albeit with far more writhing tentacles.

The key detail, however, was that these two creatures were top-tier world-level chiefs.

The four leaders’ faces turned ashen. It had already taken everything they had to subdue the Demon Marshal. With the addition of these two entities, the tide would surely turn against them.

"Prairie Fire, my friend, if you plan to keep being a mere spectator, then you might as well take my corpse back to the Grand Chieftain."...
