Chapter 1556: Chapter 1556: Breaking Through

As the green Dragon Breath spread out, under the terrified gazes of the crowd, the scales and flesh of the wyvern rapidly dissolved into a skeleton. The soul floated in its original position with a bewildered expression. However, without a body, the skeleton naturally lost its ability to fly.

Every form of Guardian Power has its own unique characteristics, and each Great Guardian Dragon’s Dragon Breath, once infused with Guardian Power, differs greatly from ordinary Dragon Breath.

The Dragon Breath of dragon beasts, or even the Ancestor Dragon, is simple—mono-attribute Dragon Breath.

Those living in cold regions usually possess Frost Dragon Breath, while others generally wield Flame Dragon Breath.

However, the Five Great Guardian Dragons are different. Their Dragon Breaths are uniquely peculiar and incomparably powerful.

The skeleton plummeted directly, and the two dark-golden glimmers falling alongside were swiftly drawn back by the Touch of Darkness hovering in front of Li Yao and deposited into his backpack.

A piece of Golden Dress and two purple-tier pieces of equipment fell as well, but Li Yao couldn’t be bothered with them.

However, what Li Yao ignored, others wouldn’t. Some players rushed madly toward the gear falling alongside the skeleton.

After all, this was Faction Leader Equipment. Even if it was merely golden or purple-tier, it was bound to be top-quality gear, which still held significant allure for the super-experts.

And with the Green Dragon Princess and Li Yao making devastating advances, the United Airforce formed by the Green Dragon Legion and Starfire finally caught up to the enemy leader.

Beneath the onslaught of the massive army, the enemy’s air force, and even the blessed floating players, were soon subjected to a brutal massacre.

"We mean no harm!"

"Fuck, why are they attacking us?"

"We’re allies, damn it!"

"Starfire’s going too far this time!"

Amid the clash, it became clear to both the players and their troops that the disparity between their air forces and the Dragon Legion was insurmountable—a crushing defeat on all fronts.

Gripped by fear, they resorted to turning their ire against Starfire’s airforce instead.

"Ha, and this is the true face of these so-called super guilds!"

"What’s so strange about it? They claim it’s fair and square when they loot Prairie Fire’s spoils and attack people outright, completely disregarding ally status. But when Starfire retaliates, they suddenly want to preach about alliances."

"Exactly. They’re always in the right. And even if they make a mistake, they just deny it outright. If others hold them accountable, they call them shameless. Disgusting."

"I’ve long been used to the behavior of these super guild people, always the same old story."

"But I have to admit, watching Starfire beat them senseless is incredibly satisfying."

"Sure, but doesn’t Starfire barely qualify as a super guild themselves? You really shouldn’t talk big—they’ve always been aggressive and overbearing."

"True, just because Starfire got a couple of first-kills, they’re acting like they’re unstoppable."

"Hahaha, two of you must clearly be from some big-name super guilds. Does Starfire even care about your approval?"

"Well said! Starfire’s overbearing, sure. But it only applies to shameless guilds. When have you ever seen them bully regular players? They never monopolize grinding spots or steal bosses from average players."

"Exactly. Starfire simply doesn’t hold back when it comes to dealing with brazen super guilds. If this counts as being ’oppressive,’ then we’d welcome a few more guilds like them."

The barrage of pop-up comments filled the screen, but most ordinary players still recognized Starfire’s style as upright and bold. This was how a great guild should behave—standing tall, not bullying the weak, not abusing power. Such conduct violated no codes of ethics, regardless of age.

No matter the chatter, back on the battlefield, Starfire was deeply embroiled in the most heated moments of combat.

The Green Dragon Princess released a rippling green shockwave from her body.

"Dreams Leave No Trace!"

As the shockwave expanded rapidly, a swarm of wyverns surrounding the Green Dragon Princess fell into a brief but dazed stupor.

Seizing the opportunity, Li Yao gripped the scythe on his back. At this moment, the Reaper’s Scythe emitted swirling deathly energy, transforming into an enormous weapon. Ghostly souls could be seen writhing and drifting across its surface, letting out soundless, piercing screams.

Faint deathly grey runes flickered, trapping the wailing souls within, lending Li Yao—shrouded by the Touch of Darkness and wielding the scythe—an even more fiendish aura.

Li Yao spun the scythe, and streaks of deathly grey blade energy shimmered and flashed unpredictably with his movements.

Heads flew one after another as the Dragon Knights surrounding the Green Dragon Princess were decapitated by the scythe’s sweeping blade energy.

Wyverns dropped from the skies in droves, and with no resistance to stop her, the Green Dragon Princess surged ahead. While slower than her earlier pace, her movements remained blisteringly swift.

Meanwhile, Li Yao continued to wave the massive scythe. Having long benefited from multiple enhancements, his current attributes were exceedingly formidable. With the Reaper’s Scythe absorbing the dragon souls of countless slain wyverns, its form grew even more ethereal, as though forged from mist itself.

With Li Yao’s swings, the scythe’s blade energy extended to a range of several hundred yards.

The Dwarf Knights attempting to block him, whether wielding weapons or carrying shields, found that nothing they held could withstand the Divine Artifact’s edge, which sliced through them like paper.

Li Yao and the Green Dragon Princess coordinated seamlessly. Taking advantage of his temporarily augmented attributes and the soul-sealing powers of the Reaper’s Scythe, Li Yao focused on slaying the knights mounted on flying beasts.

The Green Dragon Princess, meanwhile, relied on her overwhelming combat abilities to mow down the riderless air units.

With Li Yao and the Green Dragon Princess spearheading the assault, the Green Dragon Legion broke through Uldaman’s airforce formations.

It was reminiscent of the Demon Marshal leading Uldaman’s air force to massacre the Chaos Camp airforce—where unbridled destruction reigned. This time, the Green Dragon Legion, together with Starfire’s air force, wreaked devastation on Uldaman’s once-arrogant air force.

Previously, Uldaman’s air force had decimated the Chaos Camp’s air units, leaving their forces crippled. They believed the rest of the United Army would fall just as easily.

However, reality delivered a brutal lesson. While their air force was indeed strong, their ability to slaughter the Chaos Camp’s United Army air units at a low cost was due primarily to the Demon Marshal’s overwhelming dominance.

Even though the combination of Li Yao and the Green Dragon Princess couldn’t yet compare to the Demon Marshal—who could annihilate thousands with a single attack—their current exploits were still remarkable.

Li Yao, at most, was a fierce warrior. His kill-speed couldn’t come close to the Demon Marshal’s awe-inspiring feats.

But as a military commander, at least within the realm of the Ancient Gods, Li Yao was already more than competent. Leading charges like this might not align with the duties of a general in the real world,

yet in the magical universe of the Ancient Gods, even faction leaders were often required to engage directly in battle—to serve as spearheads in critical moments, let alone more ordinary commanders.

The Ancient Gods world was one that revered strength above all. Tactics and strategies weren’t ineffective, but before overwhelming power, no strategy could compare to the crushing force of a leader capable of breaking through enemy lines...
