Mercenary’s War
Chapter 1042 - 1042 One Thousand Twenty-Six Let the Regrets Go

1042: Chapter One Thousand Twenty-Six: Let the Regrets Go 1042: Chapter One Thousand Twenty-Six: Let the Regrets Go Gao Yang didn’t have any particular strong dislike towards Peter, but considering he was someone who just recently picked a fight with him and even injured Li Jinfang, it goes without saying that he wouldn’t harbor any good feelings either.

His attitude towards Peter was nothing more than the respect due to a top-notch fighter.

Li Jinfang wanted to play the hero’s respect for another hero, and Gao Yang naturally wouldn’t object.

Everyone has their moments of willfulness, but while taking advantage of the effect Li Jinfang blew up in a few words, Gao Yang wouldn’t reject the chance to severely knock Peter’s confidence.

Gao Yang had been looking at Peter with the gaze one gives to a frog at the bottom of a well, then shifted his gaze away with a profound and inscrutable smile, leaving the rest for Peter to guess.

The airport was located more than thirty kilometers outside of Damascus.

It wouldn’t take long to fly to the military hospital in the city, and the helicopter soon reached the airspace above the city.

After flying over the city for not too long, it began to descend.

Dani had contacted the military hospital before the flight took off, and the plane smoothly landed on the hospital’s helipad.

The situation in Damascus was still quite severe, basically under siege and attack by the Rebel Army.

There was combat every day, and as one of the hospitals with the best medical facilities in Damascus, the military hospital was naturally overwhelmed with patients.

Generally speaking, patients delivered by helicopter are either very high-status personnel, so when the plane landed, the medical staff waiting in the hospital quickly approached to greet the arrivals.

Dani, dressed in civilian clothes, flashed an ID in front of two people in military uniform, and then shouted loudly, “The patient has a special identity, arrange for a special passage immediately.

Get an MRI scan ready, and also, there are two people.”

By now, Andy He had already jumped out of the helicopter.

Next to Dani, he shouted loudly, “Take an X-ray for the Russian Guy first.”

Dani nodded, then shouted in Arabic, “And get an X-ray too.”

Gao Yang also disembarked the helicopter.

Like the Russian instructors, he was wearing Syrian military uniform, but unlike them, he had military rank on his shoulders, while Li Jinfang and the Russian instructors did not.

Seeing the colonel’s rank on Gao’s shoulders, and then looking at Gao’s skin color, the faces of the soldiers that came to receive them all revealed a strange look, but they quickly saluted him and then loudly said, “Please follow this way.”

Several people quickly headed towards the hospital building, but as they entered, Gao Yang took off the rank on his shoulders.

Not for any other reason, but because it was too conspicuous – he had forgotten about it.

At the airport it was not a problem, but in the crowded and chaotic hospital, being too conspicuous was not a good thing.

Inside the hospital building, there were many people, and most of them were injured patients.

There were severely wounded being pushed on gurneys, lightly wounded with crutches and arms in slings.

In short, this hospital was almost devoid of ordinary patients besides the injured.

Li Jinfang went for an MRI, and Gao Yang and the rest had to wait outside.

Meanwhile, the Russian Guy, who had been stone-faced the whole time, started looking around curiously and, after a while, he couldn’t resist speaking to the absent-minded Peter.

Shortly after, he began whispering something to Farouk.

Farouk seemed to be in a difficult position and glanced at Gao Yang.

Gao Yang knew something had happened; the Russian Guy still found some comfort, as upon reaching a major hospital, he definitely asked Farouk to arrange for a doctor here to see Peter.

Gao Yang gestured indifferently with his hand.

Andy He looked at the MRI for Li Jinfang as if one needn’t wait for printed scans but could just watch the screen instead.

Gao Yang didn’t understand but it seemed to be what Andy He was implying.

Gao Yang was indifferent; Farouk nodded and then left with the younger Russian, calling Peter as well.

Peter, a bit absent-minded, was prompted by the young Russian and then left too.

Once the three of them had left, Dani spoke impatiently in a low voice in front of Gao Yang, “These Russians, every one of them has their nose in the air, looking down on everyone.

Pah, if it weren’t for…

in short, they’re very annoying.”

Realizing he might have said something inappropriate, Dani waved his hand and sat down silently.

Gao Yang had no intention of speaking; he was still worried about Li Jinfang undergoing examination inside.

Should Li Jinfang’s condition prove severe, that would spell trouble.

After about half an hour, Andy He emerged, beaming, and gestured OK to Gao Yang, then cheerfully said, “No issue, no big deal.

I was worried I had to send Toad to my dad, but it seems unnecessary now.

I can handle it.

Let Peter come in.

Eh, where’s that Russian Guy?”

Gao Yang finally felt relieved and exhaled before smiling, “It’s good that there’s no problem.

No need to worry about that Russian Guy, he’s already in the hospital so surely he doesn’t feel the need to ask for our help anymore.”

Andy He sneered disdainfully, “Truly seeking his own demise.

How skilled can the doctors here be?

Not to look down on the doctors here, but however good they are, they are Western medicine practitioners.

For setting bones and such…

forget it, I won’t talk about it.

That Russian Guy is doomed to be unlucky.

I’ll go in and reattach Toad’s arm.

It’s easy; wait a bit and it’ll be done.”

The two were still talking when a bunch of people pushed a surgical bed out of the elevator in a rush.

Coincidentally, the people rushing out of the elevator included several white men, all dirty and grimy.

Though they were wearing Syrian military uniforms, once Gao Yang heard them speaking Russian, he knew they were another group of Russians.

After rushing to the door of the MRI room, a person dressed as a doctor shouted, “Let the person inside come out first, quickly, can do it later, we need to scan this critically ill patient now, or it’ll be too late.”

Gao Yang glanced at the operating table.

The person on the bed was a Caucasian, lying motionless.

It was unclear whether he was dead or alive.

The faces of several Russians were filled with anxiety, as if they wished they could drag Andy He out of the doorway right then and there.

Li Jinfang had finished all the checks.

Even if he hadn’t, there was a critically ill patient with an urgent situation here who needed to be prioritized.

Andy He shouted into the room, “Toad, come out.

We need to clear the space.”

After shouting, and driven by a doctor’s instinct, Andy He looked at the person on the bed and said to the doctor with an anxious expression, “This looks like severe blast injury.

Why aren’t you rushing to operate and instead wanting to do an MRI first?

Isn’t this a waste of time?”

Andy He’s question was in vain; the doctor couldn’t understand what he was saying, but as soon as Andy He cleared the doorway, the doctor waved his hands frantically, urging those pushing the operating table to go inside.

Andy He couldn’t help but say, “He obviously can’t wait that long, by the time you finish the checkup, he’ll be dead.

What kind of doctor are you?”

The doctor kept waving his hand, but then a Russian guy pulled on the operating table, preventing it from going inside and urgently said in English, “Are you a doctor?

Can you save him?”

Andy He had asked a couple of questions out of professional habit and had made some comments out of the same, but it didn’t mean he would save every person he saw.

So upon hearing the Russian’s question, Andy He shrugged and said, “I’m not a doctor.

You should go in now.”

Just then, Peter and Farouk returned, only they had brought another doctor with them.

It was normal; if Peter wanted to examine soft tissue damage on his arm, he’d have to come back for an MRI scan.

The expressions on the faces of Peter and his group were grim; they must have received some bad news.

However, when they saw a crowd blocking the doorway, Peter’s face dramatically changed, and he shouted in Russian, “Lukin!

What happened?”

Hearing Peter’s shout, the Russians all turned to look, and the Russian guy who had been talking to Andy He urgently said, “Peter?

What are you doing here?

Palyuka is injured, and it’s serious.”

Peter ran to the front of the crowd and upon seeing the person on the operating table, his face immediately went pale and he bellowed, “Why aren’t you doing the check?

What are you waiting for!”

The operating table was immediately wheeled inside, and at the same time, Li Jinfang also walked out of the room.

A group of Russians were blocked outside the door by a doctor, who then promptly closed the door.

“Ah…”

Andy He called out but then stopped himself, shook his head, and beckoned Li Jinfang with a hand gesture, saying, “Come on, your tendon is okay, it’s an easy fix, don’t delay it.

Let’s do it here, it’ll be quick.”

Li Jinfang stood in front of Andy He who then grabbed Li Jinfang’s arm and whispered, “Bear with it.”

“Mhm, ah!”

Before Andy He could finish speaking, he suddenly gave a pull.

Caught off-guard, Li Jinfang almost bit his tongue, then his eyes nearly popped out.

After pulling Li Jinfang’s arm out of its socket, Li Jinfang took a deep breath and trembled, “You’re trying to kill me with pain…

ah!”

Li Jinfang truly bit his tongue this time because as he spoke, Andy He pushed his arm back into place.

Andy He let go of Li Jinfang’s arm, and though it was a matter of just two actions, Andy He had broken out in a sweat.

After wiping his sweat, Andy He took a breath and said, “Done.

Try moving it.

Does it hurt?”

Li Jinfang moved his right arm and then excitedly said, “Hey, it doesn’t hurt at all…

Well, just a little bit.”

Andy He waved his hand and said, “Muscle damage, no big deal.

Rest for three to five days and you’ll be fine.

Pain is inevitable, but it’s nothing serious.”

Watching Andy He’s and Li Jinfang’s actions, the hallway fell silent.

While Peter’s face only showed anxiety, a younger Russian guy stood there with his mouth agape, eyes wide, a look of regret plastered across his face.

Just then, Peter coughed lightly and said to Gao Yang and Andy He with a serious face, “Excuse me, can you step out for a moment?

We have some very important matters to discuss, I apologize.”

Li Jin looked around in surprise, unaware of what had happened outside, and then asked Peter with astonishment, “What happened?

What’s going on?” (To be continued.
