Mercenary’s War
Chapter 1041 - 1041 1025 Heroes Cherish Each Other

1041: Chapter 1025 Heroes Cherish Each Other 1041: Chapter 1025 Heroes Cherish Each Other Watching Li Jinfang’s face show a seriousness yet a light-heartedness as if a decision had been made, Gao Yang knew something was up; it must have been a type of sentiment known as “heroes appreciating each other” taking effect on Li Jinfang.

Men, these strange creatures, could even foster a brotherhood through fighting, no, it was friendship between men.

But Gao promptly overturned his own conclusion, because he realized that he and Eileen had also started off by fiercely fighting each other, even using the ruthless Groin Kick on Eileen, and only after defeating her, she fell under his command.

So, it wasn’t strange for a fight to cultivate some peculiar bond, and it wasn’t limited to just between men, it could be between men and women as well, of course, given that you classify Eileen as a woman, rather than as a tomboy or any such peculiar creature.

Having learned from his own experience, Gao felt he wouldn’t guess wrong about Li Jinfang’s intention to stop Peter.

Sure enough, when Peter halted his steps and turned with an inquiring look, Li Jinfang gestured with his left hand and said loudly, “Don’t go in there, come with me.

You’ll only waste time here, and the next time we face off, I want to thrash the whole you, not some broken-armed invalid.”

The Russian beside Peter clearly didn’t understand Li Jinfang’s intentions.

He swung his hand and cursed bitterly, preparing to charge towards Gao Yang and his companions, but at that moment, Peter just laughed and said, “You’re very confident, aren’t you?”

The young Russian halted while Li Jinfang said imposingly, “Of course, I’m always confident.

It’s hard to find a worthy opponent, and you, you qualify to be my opponent, assuming your arm doesn’t end up useless or partially disabled.”

Peter laughed heartily and responded, “I appreciate confident young men, but next time, you won’t stand a chance against me.

I concede, your tactics today caught me off guard, and I admit you’re tough, but today’s result was a fluke.

I won’t give you another chance; I’ll simply knock you down!”

A desire called yearning manifested on Li Jinfang’s face while Gao understood his feelings.

When a person is too skilled in a certain area, so skilled that he seeks worthy opponents, it’s quite normal to crave for an equal.

Gao didn’t hope to encounter an enemy whose gunmanship matched or exceeded his on the battlefield because it meant his comrades might die.

However, in a sports arena, or any other non-lethal setting, he indeed hoped to face a challenging opponent.

Having an opponent was a motivation to progress forward.

Being invincibly lonely was exhilarating but also isolating.

People really needed formidable opponents to prove their own strength.

Li Jinfang smiled faintly and said, “You want to talk nonsense, I can keep this up with you, but I must remind you, the doctors here can’t save you.

You are no match for me now, and if you linger here too long, you can forget about challenging me later.”

Peter laughed heartily and replied, “You are but an opponent I need to defeat to rectify my error.

Aspire to be my challenge?

You’re far from ready.

But you’re right, if I delay too long, I might really have to view you as a challenge.

Alright, I’ve changed my mind.”

Unwilling to interfere with Li Jinfang’s action, and hearing Peter’s answer, Gao sighed and told Gilanor, “Don’t ready the Antelope, prepare the Mi-17.”

Peter strode over nonchalantly, his face showing no signs of humiliation.

When he reached Li Jinfang, he bowed his head, deep in thought.

There was no recognizable emotion on his face, but obviously, he had to choose between his pride and his arm.

Without much delay, Peter looked towards Andy He and said solemnly, “I know you are a doctor, and a good one at that.

So, please, fix my arm back, thank you.”

As Peter bowed his head, Andy He was in high spirits.

Looking at Gao, he said, “Boss.”

Gao waved his hand and said, “Reattach his arm.”

Andy He shrugged and told Peter, “Don’t move.”

Andy He grabbed Peter’s arm and gently moved it, watching as a pained expression appeared on Peter’s face.

He then pinched Peter’s shoulder and said, “Did you try to put it back yourself?”

Peter clenched his teeth, sweat pouring down, and nodded, “Yes, just this arm.

When I realized I couldn’t fix it, I gave up.”

Andy He let go of Peter’s hand and waved, “Alright, come with us.”

Peter was momentarily startled, and the younger Russian expressed his discontent loudly, “Where to!

What exactly do you want?”

As Andy He arched his eyebrows and was about to speak, both Gao and Li Jinfang knew Andy He’s habit.

When his eyebrows raised and his neck stiffened, he was not about to say anything pleasant.

Li Jinfang spoke before Andy He could, “To the hospital.”

Peter smiled faintly and said, “Alright then, let’s go to the hospital together.”

Farouk breathed a sigh of relief.

With conflict brewing between the Russians and Gao’s group, he was stuck in a tough position in the middle.

Moreover, if things escalated, it was hard to predict where they might lead.

After being defeated by Li Jinfang, Peter’s demeanor changed significantly.

Though he was originally arrogant, he could not help but show respect to Li Jinfang.

Peter’s gracious acceptance of defeat allowed Li Jinfang to extend his kindness, and slowly, the situation began to calm down.

The helicopter was ready, and Gao and his team boarded it, now joined by two more Russians.

The helicopter took off, and the two sides who had been adversaries just moments before now sat facing each other inside.

The younger Russian appeared somewhat helpless, maintaining a stern face throughout, while Peter kept his eyes on Li Jinfang.

In every respect, Gao Yang’s group was the victor.

Li Jinfang had defeated Peter, and Peter had ultimately been forced to ask for Andy He’s help.

Therefore, compared to the two Russians, the mood was much better on Gao Yang’s side.

Gao Yang had no intention of provoking Peter.

He and Andy He were discussing some mundane topics.

However, not long after the helicopter had flown some distance, Peter suddenly asked, “Are you Huaxia People?”

Li Jinfang nodded and replied, “Yes.”

Peter, clearly puzzled, asked, “What kind of combat skills do you use?

Are they taught in the Huaxia Army?”

Li Jinfang nodded again, “Yes.”

After a moment of thought, Peter suddenly said, “No, you’re lying.

The combat skills you use aren’t found in the Huaxia Army.

The Huaxia Army doesn’t use the combat skills you employed.”

Li Jinfang didn’t respond, but Andy He laughed out loud and said, “Joke.

The Huaxia Army is huge.

How would you know which combat skills he’s using?”

Peter wasn’t angry but frowned deeply and said, “No, the combat skills he uses aren’t suitable for military use; no army would use combat skills that are too complicated.

I can tell.”

Suddenly, Li Jinfang asked, “What do you use?”

Peter honestly replied, “I’m best at Sambo, but I also train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Karate.”

Li Jinfang nodded, “I can see that.

Your joint techniques are impressive.”

Peter did not pick up the topic from Li Jinfang but continued, “What exactly do you train?

The military wouldn’t use your combat skills; they’re too complex and take too long to master, making them unsuitable for military use.”

After a moment of contemplation, Li Jinfang nodded and said, “Alright, mainly martial arts, um, Huaxia Kung Fu.”

Peter frowned, “Just Kung Fu?

Nothing else?”

Li Jinfang shook his head, “Nothing else, just Kung Fu.”

Peter remained skeptical, and at that moment, the younger Russian displayed a dismissive expression, “Stop lying, Kung Fu is all a deception.”

Li Jinfang ignored the younger Russian.

Instead, Peter turned his face gravely and said, “Sherf!”

The young man spread his hands, shut his mouth, and lowered his head, not moving anymore.

At this moment, Peter looked at Li Jinfang again and asked, “Just Kung Fu?”

Li Jinfang exhaled lightly and said, “Just Kung Fu, but not the kind of Kung Fu you see in movies.

It’s practical Kung Fu that you foreigners don’t see.”

Peter spoke softly, “I’ve seen it, uh, only seen it.

I’ve never failed to handle a punch, but I couldn’t handle yours.

That surprised me, but now I’m more curious; your Kung Fu is impressive.”

Li Jinfang modestly said, “It’s alright, not very impressive.

There are many in Huaxia better than me.

I’m nothing special.”

Peter frowned, “Impossible!

At our level, there are not many people in the world who can be our match.

You’re either bragging or trying to deceive me.”

Li Jinfang retorted, “Why would I deceive you?

You just lack experience.

Let me tell you, my level is indeed quite good where I come from, but it’s far from the best.

Look, I have two brothers, and I always end up beaten black and blue by them.”

A hint of panic appeared on Peter’s face as he suddenly raised his voice, “That’s impossible!”

Gao Yang understood Peter’s feelings.

It was like Tyson at his peak, the most powerful and unbeatable time, suddenly getting knocked out by someone one day.

If that person had also been a world-famous boxer, Tyson might have accepted it more easily.

But if it was a nobody, Tyson would not have found it easy to accept.

It was understandable.

What was worse than being defeated by a nobody telling Tyson, “My level isn’t good; I don’t even rank where I come from,” was something Tyson couldn’t bear.

Replacing Tyson with Peter, who thought he was at the top, but then discovers there’s a corner filled with folks stronger than him—how can someone accustomed to the loneliness of the heights endure that?

Peter already began to feel disillusioned.

Seeing Peter’s look, Gao Yang couldn’t help wanting to laugh, but he didn’t want to expose Li Jinfang.

He just wore an expression that read ‘you really don’t understand anything’ as he looked at Peter.

And with Gao Yang looking at him that way, Peter’s sense of disillusionment only intensified, his expression growing increasingly uneasy.
