Mercenary’s War
Chapter 1040 - 1040 1024 Enemies on a Narrow Path

1040: Chapter 1024: Enemies on a Narrow Path 1040: Chapter 1024: Enemies on a Narrow Path Before leaving, Gao Yang pointed to his eyes and then to the airplane parked in the distance, signaling for Number Thirteen and Yake not to forget to notify the Air Force to scout.

He couldn’t forget the serious business at hand, and Gao Yang also had to summon Gallanor.

The airport had its own medical system – calling it a hospital would be an exaggeration, but it was much larger than a clinic.

It would be more accurate to call it a medical center.

Although the airport medical center didn’t have any major medical equipment, it did have an X-ray machine, and there were quite a few people—over a dozen doctors and nurses combined—which should imply a reasonably good standard of care.

It was no big deal to get an X-ray done, but when the image appeared, Andy He’s face immediately fell, and he stared silently at the X-ray, frowning deeply.

Li Jinfang was also silent, just sweating profusely, and Gao, not wanting to disturb Andy He but unable to resist asking, could only stand by impatiently.

Andy He had been looking for several minutes with utter silence.

Gao couldn’t hold back any longer and blurted out anxiously, “F**k, would you say something?”

Andy He smacked his lips and said irritably, “If I had figured out anything, don’t you think I would have told you?”

Jinfang asked anxiously, “Is it really serious?”

Andy He sighed deeply, looked helpless, and said, “Tough guy, when you shoved your arm back into place, the bone was dislocated, and you set the joint yourself.

With the little knowledge you have, what do you think?

I’m curious – how did you even manage to take down that Russian?

That kind of pain, how could a normal person stand it!”

Jinfang let out a wry smile and said, “At that time, I didn’t feel any pain at all, but…

my arm, it’s fine, right?”

Andy He smacked his lips again, slapped the X-ray, and with a bitter expression, said, “The bone looks okay, but you did a messy job setting it back.

It can move, but there are serious issues.

I won’t get into the details, but you should know that I need to dislocate your shoulder and then put it back into place, meaning you’re going to experience pain again.”

Jinfang made a face and said, “You’ve got to be kidding me.

That’s going to hurt like hell!”

Andy He said impatiently, “Now you know what pain feels like?”

Gao felt extremely agitated.

Had he known Jinfang would end up like this, he would have rather forced those Russians back at gunpoint.

Resigned, Jinfang let out a long sigh and said, “Well, I can endure it.

Just do it, the quicker, the better.

The sooner it’s over, the better.”

Gao couldn’t help but say, “Curtis, can’t you be less gloomy?

Could you say something more auspicious?”

Andy He replied irritably, “You want this done quickly?

I want that too, but unfortunately, we can’t hurry this.

The X-ray is clear enough for the bones, but it’s worthless for soft tissue.

Let me put it this way: your bones are easy to deal with, and so is the dislocation, but I’m worried about your tendons, get it!

I can’t see what damage you’ve done to yourself, and we can’t tell from an X-ray here.

If your tendons and muscle tissue are seriously damaged, even if I reset your arm, F**k, if it’s not completely ruined, it’ll still suffer significant functional loss.”

Already pale with pain, Jinfang’s face turned even paler, if not slightly green, at Andy He’s words, his speech trembling.

He couldn’t bear the thought of his right arm being disabled, let alone having any problems with it.

“Don’t scare me, is it really that bad?”

Jinfang’s voice changed as he spoke, and Gao, feeling uneasy, quickly said, “Can you say something useful?

Just tell us what to do!”

Annoyed, Andy He slapped the X-ray in his hand and said, “We need to get a CT scan done quickly, to see if there’s damage to the surrounding soft tissues.

Bruises and strains to the muscles are manageable, but we need to check for tendon damage and the extent of any periosteal injury.

The X-ray machine here isn’t adequate; we need to find a better CT scanner.”

After Andy He finished speaking, Gao and Jinfang immediately turned their gaze toward Gilanor.

Gilanor, who had been listening nervously, immediately responded to Gao’s look, saying, “The CT is only available in Damascus hospitals, or military hospitals would work as well.”

Gao waved his hand and said, “Get the ground crew ready for a helicopter.

We’re going now.”

Gilanor nodded repeatedly and said, “I’ll arrange the flight immediately.

Should I use the Mi 17 or the Antelope?”

Gao sighed and replied, “Arrange for an Antelope; it’ll be enough.

Bringing more people won’t help.

Have Tyrannosaurus pilot, and just arrange for a co-pilot to navigate.”

Although the Antelope could carry fewer people, it was more convenient for takeoffs and landings.

There was no need for a large Mi 17 transport just to take Jinfang to the hospital.

Gilanor said urgently, “I’ll notify Dani to come along.

Every hospital is overwhelmed with people now; let Dani arrange a special passage.”

Gao nodded, picked up the walkie-talkie, set it to Dani’s frequency, and said hastily, “Dani, we need to make a trip to the Damascus hospital.

Help us out, ah, you better come over and we’ll discuss in person.”

“Dani here; received.

What happened?

Over.”

“It’s complicated to explain over the radio; let’s talk when we meet up.

We’ll rendezvous next to Night Demon Four, over.”

Gao Yang put down the walkie-talkie and waved his hand, “Let’s go, don’t delay.”

The four of them headed out of the airport medical facility and, just as they were about to leave, they ran into three people right at the entrance.

Farouk, the Russian man whose arms were dislocated by Li Jinfang, now covered in sweat and clenching his teeth in pain, was accompanied by another Russian.

Li Jinfang narrowed his eyes.

He, who was in agony just moments ago, now wore a defiant look as he eyed his defeated subordinate, and the other Russian was also squinting, staring intently at Li Jinfang.

The two parties met at the entrance, Farouk slightly embarrassed, while Li Jinfang was only interested in displaying his prowess as a martial artist and the posture of a victor.

The Russian didn’t show much on his face, but it was clear, he was very, very dissatisfied.

Both principals stood at the entrance, neither willing to make way for the other, and neither speaking up.

But the people beside them were not so polite.

Farouk and Gilanor were both in an awkward position.

Although they had a better and more familiar relationship with Gao Yang and his group, they definitely could not be rude to the Russians, and as for making peace, they really had no idea how to smooth over the situation.

It was Andy He who spoke up first, raising an eyebrow and laughing, “Hey, what’s up?

Here to check on your arm?”

The bystanders now became the main force of the confrontation, and upon hearing Andy’s mocking words, the younger Russian said with a gloomy face, “You didn’t arrive as early as us.”

Andy laughed out loud, saying loudly, “Yeah, even though the arm is fine already, it’s better to get an X-ray to be sure, right?

Oh, oh, sorry, our guy’s fine, but this guy, he seems to be in a bad situation, huh?

Hasn’t gotten it fixed yet?

Hey, it’s not good to delay that for too long.”

Listening to Andy, Li Jinfa gave a slight smile, then lifted his arm and provocatively rotated his shoulder.

Gao almost cursed out loud.

There’s a time and place for bravado, and to play along with Andy’s verbal barrage, the cost of Li Jinfang’s show-off was not small.

Andy’s expression changed, but at least he didn’t curse out loud.

Instead, he stepped aside and loudly said, “Come on, we’re fine.

Let’s quickly make way, can’t you see this guy’s in a hurry to see the doctor?”

Gao immediately pushed Li Jinfang aside, no longer engaging in the stand-off, it was time to get a CT scan.

Having already had the upper hand in the verbal exchange, making way would only infuriate the Russians further.

Why hesitate to take the opportunity to back down gracefully?

Farouk gave an embarrassed smile.

The younger Russian was about to enter, but seeing that the leading Russian didn’t move, he took a step forward then stepped back again.

At this point, Farouk nodded slightly towards Gao and his group, then said awkwardly to the Russian, “Well, we’ll go in then, Captain, let’s go.”

From what Farouk had said, it was clear that the Russian did not intend to seek out Andy for arm treatment; otherwise, Farouk wouldn’t have spoken like a passerby who had stumbled upon them by accident.

Thinking about it was normal; those Russians were very proud.

Having been defeated by Li Jinfang, they would certainly not lower themselves to seek treatment from Li Jinfang’s companion.

The Russian refused treatment, and Gao certainly wasn’t going to beg to treat him.

Although he didn’t want to escalate things, he was even less likely to show weakness voluntarily.

As for Andy, he was more than happy to take it easy.

Gao still looked indifferent, just smiling as he watched the two Russians.

Although he was the one who had given way, he wanted to see how those two Russians would walk into the medical room under their gaze.

Unexpectedly to Gao, the younger Russian was clearly unable to contain his anger, his right hand trembling, uncontrollably reaching for the gun at his waist, yet still forced to suppress his fury with reason.

The impressive Russian man, though staring dead at Li Jinfang, did not show much anger, but rather the competitiveness and reluctance that came upon meeting a rival.

Farouk had no choice but to say again, “Captain, let’s go inside.”

The Russian nodded but then suddenly addressed Li Jinfang, “You’re very impressive, and you’re a tough guy.

Losing to you, although I don’t like it, I have nothing to complain about.”

Li Jinfang’s expression did not change, and he replied with composure, “You’re not bad either.”

The Russian nodded, then said softly, “My name is Peter.

It was thrilling to fight you.

You won this time, but don’t get too happy too soon.

Once my arm has recovered, I’ll come looking for you, and I hope you’ll still dare to fight me then.”

Li Jinfang smiled slightly, “Good, I’ll be waiting for you.”

Peter nodded to Li Jinfang, “Good, goodbye.”

“Goodbye.”

After bidding each other farewell, the Russian named Peter tossed his head and walked into the medical room without looking sideways.

The younger Russian glared fiercely at Andy before following quickly.

Farouk made a helpless grimace as he walked past Gao.

Once the three had passed, Gao waved his hand, and the four stepped out of the medical facility’s entrance.

However, as soon as they had stepped out, Li Jinfang suddenly stopped, then turned around and called out loudly to Peter, who had already walked some distance, “Hey, wait!” (To be continued.
