Chapter 838: Chapter 557: Provocation (2nd Update)_2

They were all soldiers, soldiers with unyielding pride.

If you want your opponent to shut up, then use your own strength to show them who’s stronger!

This point, Jing Youlan had understood since he was a child; it was the way of the men in the Jing family.

Uh... he used to be the exception.

Watching everyone’s reaction, Wu Ya’s mouth curled slightly, then he continued, "It seems you’ve never thought about this before."

"But rest assured, our assessment is definitely not about competing against the comrades at your side - at least not for now." They might consider it, but not yet.

Youyou’s smile grew wider, but to everyone else, it seemed all the more deserving of a beating. "I know you’re not convinced. Don’t worry, we’ll give you the chance to challenge us; as long as you pass our assessment and stand on Ying Sun’s Training Ground, you can pick anyone from Ying Sun to challenge, including the three of us, of course."

"You can choose to face anyone you want one-on-one or in a group." They didn’t mind if someone came knocking on their door looking for a beating, but "If you can’t even pass our assessment, then don’t even think about complaining, because you won’t even have the right to do so."

"Do you understand?" A hearty roar.

"Understood!" With pride shining through, a sea of young and resolute faces gleamed with utter determination.

Curling his lip, Wu Ya stepped back and exchanged a glance with Xigua, both mysteriously smiling.

Tsk, tsk, tsk... back when they joined Ying Sun, they had gotten quite stimulated by their Boss; unfortunately, even now, they still couldn’t beat him.

Tsk, tsk, tsk... how embarrassing! If possible, they really wanted these proud youngsters to also taste those ranks.

Really, there’s no need to thank them too much.

Most of what needed to be said had been said by Wu Ya, or rather, the provocation was completed; and that was just as well; Black Shark’s character wasn’t suited for making such speeches, especially not with the extremely annoying expression that Wu Ya wore at the time — Black Shark simply couldn’t pull it off.

"Let’s move." Without further ado, at Black Shark’s command, lights suddenly flared in the distance, revealing two Ying Sun-specific helicopters, dazzling and instantly thrilling.

These were Ying Sun’s very own combat helicopters! To think that on their very first day, they would have the chance to board them; as if they were already part of Ying Sun, about to embark on a secret mission.

At this moment, much of the arrogance in many eyes had faded, replaced mostly by sheer excitement.

"Cool!" Yang Yuebin and the others stood there, "Just thinking about using this kind of combat aircraft for missions in the future ignites a fire in me, it’s absolutely explosive!"

"It really is cool." Everyone nodded in agreement, but "I wonder what sort of assessment awaits us."

That was their real concern; they didn’t want their only chance in life to operate such an aircraft to be today.

"We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it; for now, let’s take things one step at a time and do our best." They couldn’t disappoint themselves, nor could they disappoint Mu Lin, who was already waiting for them within Ying Sun.

This had always been Jing Youlan and his group’s mindset, almost verging on an obsession.

The others nodded in agreement and stepped towards one of the helicraft.

Finally, it had begun.

However, not being allowed to bring anything, one wondered what kind of deep, wild forest they planned to dump them in to fend for themselves; if that was indeed the case, they should at least provide some basic tools.

It had to be said, their intuition was quite accurate; their first destination was indeed a remote, untouched forest.

Standing at the original spot, Xigua and the others watched as people excitedly boarded the helicraft, smirking, "Looks like they really do need more training." These people had no idea how to hide their emotions, getting so excited over the smallest sweetener.

If that was the case, then it wouldn’t be impossible for them to defect under the threat of certain incentives during a critical mission.

"Hmm." Watching the excited backs, Black Shark nodded lightly.

"There are some good ones, though," Wu Ya commented, "At least Jing Young Master and his group didn’t show much emotional change from beginning to end." Not bad at all, good temperament; although they were indeed a bit excited to see the helicraft, they had disguised it very well, and it was hardly noticeable.

Even among their group, the three female soldiers had decent mentalities, especially one of them with hardly any expression on her face, giving off a rather cold vibe.

Wu Ya guessed it was probably because she had spent a lot of time with Mu Lin; at least In the beginning, Mu Lin gave off a similarly distant, cold impression.

It had to be said, there was some truth to that.

"Let’s go, it’s time to depart." There was no time to waste; the others should have already picked up their charges.

Exchanging glances, the three of them headed toward the helicraft, heading to their first assessment destination.

They hoped these kids could hold their own in this first challenge and not disappoint them too quickly.

...

Time seemed to drag on, and from their initial excitement, the crowd eventually succumbed to drowsiness.

After all, it was the dead of night, and after such rigorous daytime training, it was normal to feel tired and sleepy.

"Mu Lin." The quiet was suddenly pierced by a voice.

"Alright." Mu Lin turned his head, promptly understanding the signal; this was the kind of tacit understanding they had.
