Chapter 702: Chapter 464: Haven’t Married My Wife Yet (Second More Update)_1
"Be careful." Mu Lin reminded him. When Jing Chen saw the small bomb inside, his expression became serious. He subconsciously turned to look at Mu Lin.
"It’s started."
Mu Lin’s gaze hardened. No wonder the ticking sound she’d heard earlier had gotten louder—the timer was already counting down. Did that mean all the other timed bombs had also been activated?
"How much time is left?" Mu Lin asked subconsciously.
"Sixty minutes." That was one hour. For them, this wasn’t a lot of time, but it wasn’t a little either.
Hearing Jing Chen’s words, Mu Lin frowned.
So, in one hour, regardless of whether the culprits achieved their goal, they would reduce the mall to rubble.
Her thin lips tightened; it seemed their decision was right.
Their only chance to win was to disarm these timed bombs.
Subconsciously, she glanced at the clock hanging on the store wall. They didn’t have much time since they had killed the first person; from now on, they had to be faster than their enemies.
As a soldier, the only thing Jing Chen could do now was to neutralize all the bombs before the opponents killed more people. He couldn’t betray the oath he’d once taken.
Mu Lin didn’t understand the feeling, but she knew that she’d support and help him in anything Jing Chen wanted to do.
Jing Chen cut open the teddy bear’s belly. With a firm tug, he pulled it apart and took out the small ammunition inside, his face icy.
"Be careful again." Mu Lin reminded him. She had seen this kind of bomb before. Though small, it was a lot more dangerous than some larger, but ineffective bombs. Moreover, Ling Qi had once said that such bombs were very difficult to defuse, and ordinary people certainly wouldn’t dare to do it recklessly.
He glanced up at Mu Lin, signaling with his eyes that she didn’t need to worry.
He had already handled more dangerous missions; a few small bombs were nothing. He wouldn’t let his beloved get hurt here. He still wanted to start a family with his Linlin, and they hadn’t even received their certificates yet.
Even at this moment, the only thing on Jing Chen’s mind was Mu Lin. Anything related to her was the most important thing to him.
"Linlin." As time ticked away, Jing Chen’s voice suddenly sounded in Mu Lin’s ear.
"What’s the matter?" Mu Lin asked subconsciously, looking at him.
Jing Chen: "Can you check this store for a small pair of tweezers or a screwdriver or something for fixing things? The ammunition is quite small; scissors alone won’t do."
Mu Lin nodded and walked towards the counter in the store, quickly searching. But she didn’t find anything useful; just then she remembered seeing a shop that seemed to sell miscellaneous items like trinkets and household goods next door. She told Jing Chen and ran over there.
Perhaps the shop next door would have what she needed.
Soon, Mu Lin quickly ran back, holding a pair of tweezers used for plucking eyebrows. "That’s all I found," she said, "I’ve searched everywhere, but I couldn’t find any tools you mentioned."
In such a mall, those items would only be found if someone detailed was looking; this was the closest thing she could find.
"This would be just fine." Jing Chen took a look at the item in her hand and nodded. It was just the right shape he needed.
At least, it’s good she could find it at all.
Jing Chen handed the scissors back to Mu Lin, took the small tweezers and worked meticulously. Now that the timer had started, he had to be even more careful. If he made a mistake, they might end up buried just like the teddy bear he’d disemboweled. He would not let that happen.
After all, he hadn’t married his wife yet.
Without a word, Mu Lin helped him wipe his sweat carefully, while closely watching his every careful move.
Could you call this hands-on learning—with Jing Chen as her best teacher?
