Chapter 701: Chapter 463: Demolition (First Update)_2

Usually, the tasks they carry out have nothing to do with what’s happening in E Country. However, E Country is an area where emergencies are quite frequent and terrorist attacks do take place from time to time. They as police officers, of course, know far more than them; perhaps being confronted by a large number of hostages is a first for them, but they still understand the situation better, don’t they?

Listening to Xigua’s narration, the other party didn’t speak, but from their facial expressions, it could be seen that though they were a bit displeased, they agreed with what the team was saying.

Sacrifices are inevitable today, and the only thing they can do now is to minimize these sacrifices.

He wants to continue negotiating with the people inside, but unfortunately, they have already stated that they absolutely will not negotiate unless they see the person they want to see.

And they don’t have much time left.

"Has the person not arrived yet?" The person in charge turned to look at the rear, only to find no vehicles or helicopters were showing up, aside from some thrill-seekers.

"Report, they are on the way," a policeman reported.

Upon hearing this, the person in charge’s face turned icy.

Those in charge of transport hadn’t arrived yet; did they not realize the situation here was about to go south? Moreover, out of a given hour, only ten minutes were left, and once those ten minutes are up, people inside are undoubtedly going to start dying.

They are left between a rock and a hard place at the moment.

The Xigua team heard their conversation but didn’t object; after all, it wasn’t their place to give opinions. Not to mention, these individuals never saw them as soldiers. For Xigua’s team, their top priority was to help their boss get through the current dilemma. The rest can wait; meanwhile, they only needed to cooperate with the officials.

After all, their goals are the same.

While the situation outside was tense, Jing Chen and Mu Lin seemed steadier. They had just dismantled three bombs within a few minutes and were now starting on the fourth one.

These bombs were not all of the same type; it seems that the enemy did not want to make disarming the bombs easy.

Some bombs needed to have one of the circuits removed to be disarmed, but some had to be fully disassembled; and right now, the one in front of Jing Chen and Mu Lin was one of those that needed complete disassembling.

Not wanting to disturb Jing Chen, Mu Lin observed silently. She wasn’t an expert on bombs; she only had some basic training on simple bomb models and assemblies.

She knew the new models, but she didn’t fully understand them; maybe after this incident, she might need to brush up on this knowledge area.

But at this moment, Mu Lin felt for the first time that she couldn’t help Jing Chen; thankfully, she had keen hearing. In this quiet environment, she could hear the ticking sound from some of the timed bombs, even if they were not moving yet.

When the red numbers on one bomb turned dark, Mu Lin let out a breath of relief, "Is it done?" She could finally speak.

"Yes." Jing Chen nodded, got up and looked at Mu Lin, who wiped his forehead gently with a handkerchief, then put it away, a smile curling at her lips, "This is the first time I have seen the boss being nervous."

His facial expression didn’t change, but the fine sweat on his forehead in the chilly weather clearly indicated his tension; although the mall’s air conditioning was working, it wasn’t hot enough for people to break out in sweat.

Hearing Mu Lin’s remark, Jing Chen smiled, "Though I am not afraid to live together and die together with my lady, I would rather prefer to die of old age. I also have dreams of having many little ones with my lady and raising them well."

After hearing this, Mu Lin burst into laughter; her boss could flirt with her at any time, regardless of the circumstances.

"Let’s go, keep going, we don’t have much time." Mu Lin reminded him, and Jing Chen nodded, heading to the side.

Whether out of overconfidence or something else, the attackers had not noticed Mu Lin and Jing Chen until now.

The duo moved quickly and carefully up to the second floor.

No one would place all their bombs on the first floor.

"Wait." Suddenly, Mu Lin stopped Jing Chen and pulled him aside.

"You heard it again?" Jing Chen looked at Mu Lin.

Mu Lin nodded, "Yes, and it’s quite clear." Even clearer than the previous times.

Hearing Mu Lin’s words, Jing Chen frowned deeply.

For some reason, he had a bad feeling.

With a swift movement, they disappeared into a doll shop.

Mu Lin released Jing Chen, and step by step, she moved towards the back, reached into a pile of soft toys, picked up a teddy bear and placed it next to her ear to listen carefully, "The fifth one should be in here."

Jing Chen took the teddy bear, gently tearing it open from the back.

"Be careful." Mu Lin watched him and gave a reminder, and Jing Chen nodded. Seeing the small bomb inside, his expression turned grave, and he looked at Mu Lin subconsciously.
