Chapter 703: Chapter 464: Haven’t Married My Wife Yet (Second More Update)_2
For some reason, Mu Lin’s mind began to form such a thought, and strangely she didn’t feel nervous at all; perhaps it was because this man was always by her side; as long as he was there, it seemed as though she had nothing to worry about.
Before, she hadn’t cared, so she wasn’t afraid of death; but now, it was because she had him by her side.
As long as he was with her, there seemed to be nothing for her to worry about; even if she met the worst fate, it was still something she was willing to accept.
However, if the matter of her Master was left unresolved, it would be a bit disrespectful to the elder; not to mention her own origins.
Upon reflection, her circumstances were indeed quite complicated.
Finally, after approximately two minutes, a "click" sounded, pulling Mu Lin back to reality; following this, a ’ding’ sound was heard, and time stood still.
A grin formed on her face.
She subconsciously raised her head towards Mu Lin, their eyes met, and they exhaled a sigh of relief, lifted their feet, preparing to head outside, but the next moment, that cold voice resonated in their ears once more.
With a frown, they carefully proceeded towards the outside.
It appeared that they had been informed about the situation a bit too late, otherwise.
...
"Time’s up." That voice, with a hint of a smile, seemed tremendously ominous, filling those cowering on the ground, their legs numb yet dared not stand up, with heightened fear.
The safety period was over, so what awaited them was the nerve-wracking prospect of death.
Subconsciously raising their heads towards the muzzle of the gun pointing at them, they swiftly lowered their heads again.
The anticipated gunfire hadn’t sounded yet, when suddenly an figure appeared on the screen before everyone’s eyes, wearing a mask and a hat, revealing only a pair of hands and eyes. No one could recognize who he was.
It appeared that he knew that he would become a wanted fugitive after this incident, hence he didn’t dare show his face.
Jing Chen and Mu Lin stood in the shadows watching this man, their gaze brimming with a trace of mockery.
As expected, this man had no intention of letting the hostages go; for Jing Chen and Mu Lin, waiting for outside assistance was less dependable than saving themselves.
Without further hesitation, they decisively moved towards another direction, they no longer had the time to stand around and watch.
Now, they had to make the most of every second. Down below, the performance continued.
The man turned his gaze towards the direction of the camera, as if looking at those outside who were gnashing their teeth at him, wishing they could immediately rush in and tear him into a thousand pieces yet incapable of taking any action.
Just envisioning that scene brought a deeper smile to his face, his exposed eyes narrowing to slits.
"An hour has passed, where is the person I want?" As the man looked at the screen, there was a glint of innocence in his eyes, "If you don’t bring out the person soon, don’t blame me for being rude."
Saying this, he waved his hand slightly, and quickly two men wearing hats and masks came out from a side, and casually grabbed a woman, and pushed her next to him.
It was a woman, being pinned down, she almost passed out.
She couldn’t believe that she would be the first one.
Looking down at the woman’s terrified eyes, the man lightly licked his lips, "Such an expression, so beautiful." The more frightened the woman was, the more exciting it was for him.
The man felt his blood boiling with excitement, his entire body trembling.
Looking up at the camera in the middle, "I really do want to let them go, but your speed is just too slow." Then he turned back to the woman, his expression innocent, "Really, I don’t want to kill you, those people just don’t value your lives. Therefore, please don’t blame me for this."
Looking over her outfit, "Red clothing, good. Remember this, if you truly turn into a vengeful ghost, don’t come looking for me, because I’m innocent."
After these words, he slowly turned around, prepared to dedicate the best spot in the centre to this woman in red, so that everyone could witness a unique spectacle of crimson blossoming.
It would certainly be very beautiful.
However, just as he was turning around, his phone rang suddenly. The man’s grin deepened instantly. Accepting the call, he put it on speaker, "What is it?" Hidden behind the mask, his mouth curled up, those impish blue eyes stared into the camera again, "Has the person I want arrived?"
There seemed to be a long pause before the reply sounded, "No, not yet, but everything else is ready. Also, I have been in contact, just give us fifteen more minutes, and they should arrive."
They just needed fifteen more minutes.
"Fifteen minutes, huh." As though deep in thought, the look in his eyes made it impossible for those outside to understand what he was thinking. Xigua and her crew felt that this man was indeed a dangerous figure. All they could hope for now was for their Boss and his wife to be safe.
The supervisor watched the situation inside, his eyes never leaving those demon-like eyes, thinking that delaying for another fifteen minutes would be good, but unexpectedly-
With the sound of a gunshot, the man fired without any hesitation.
