Chapter 526: Chapter 490 Startling the Snake
Dragging a corpse through a hallway, Wu reached a corner and gently set down the body in his hands.
Standing still, he quietly listened to the voice coming through his earpiece, this time expecting more detailed instructions.
A few seconds later, Wu pinched a dart in each hand and then he abruptly turned the corner, his body twisting as he did so, throwing the two darts with all his might!
At the end of the corridor, about ten meters away, there was a door with two guards armed with guns standing outside of it.
The guards reacted quickly; the moment Wu suddenly appeared, they instinctively moved to raise their guns to shoot, but as Wu had anticipated their move and acted first, their guns were only halfway raised when darts struck their throats.
Their expressions stiffened, hands subconsciously clutching at their throats as they fell, blood flowing out and blending into the bright red carpet.
Wu once again picked up the previous corpse, moving it into the hallway on this side before heading toward the door.
He reached out to twist the doorknob, and the door opened.
The room was large and elegantly furnished, with candles still burning on the living room table, fine liquor, and clothes—outer and under—strewn on the floor, the trail leading to a nearby bedroom from where the sound of showering and laughter echoed.
The moment the door was opened, a sharp voice rang out, and a man on the right side rose from the sofa while simultaneously lifting a pistol towards Wu.
Wu surged forward, throwing a dart at the man with one hand while with the other, he casually closed the door.
Bang! Bang!
As the door shut, gunshots sounded.
The bullets missed their mark, and Wu’s thrown dart also missed.
"Ah!"
A woman’s scream came from the bathroom, but Wu ignored it and rushed at the gunman.
The man was decisive, ditching the gun in favor of a dagger in his left hand, lunging toward Wu like a leopard.
Clang!
Sparks flew as Wu’s dagger clashed with the man’s.
The man’s eyes were filled with shock, his left hand shaking so violently he could barely hold the dagger.
Swoosh!
Without hesitation, the man’s right fist, accompanied by a whooshing sound, aimed for Wu’s throat.
Then blood spurted out as a wrist was nearly severed, the man grunting before thrusting the dagger in his hand with all his power, completely disregarding defense, seeking to take Wu down with him.
However, what was full force to him seemed slow in Wu’s eyes, who countered by striking the man’s arm first, deflecting the attack, then delivering a throat-slicing blow, causing him to fall with indignation.
The engagement lasted less than two seconds when a stark naked fat man just emerged from the bathroom, only to be met with the scene of his bodyguard’s throat being cut.
Wu turned to look at the man; this fat man was the target of his mission.
"Having bodyguards in the room for this kind of affair—how scared of dying is this guy?"
Wu cast a glance at the blonde beauty hiding in the bathroom, wrapped in a towel and trembling with fear, and silently ridiculed her in his mind.
The fat man turned pale at the sight of his fallen bodyguard, and quickly made a decision, not even caring that he was nude, raising his hands in surrender with a forced smile on his face and said in English, "Can we talk?"
Wu stepped over, taking out a simultaneous translation earpiece from his chest and throwing it to the man.
The man caught the earpiece and quickly put it on.
"Where’s Celeon?" Wu asked.
This fat man, named Kap, was an important figure in the Mandela family, managing much of the family’s clandestine power. According to intelligence, it was Kap who led the operation at sea for the Mandela family.
Kap was taken aback, sweat rolling down his forehead, "I don’t know where Celeon is, him and I are on separate tracks..."
Crack!
Kap’s finger was broken by Wu before he could scream in pain, Wu’s grip silencing him to only muffled groans.
"Where’s Celeon?"
"I really don’t know."
Crack!
"Ah... Mmmmm..."
Kap’s face twisted in agony, tears spilling from his eyes.
"I’ll ask one more time, where is Celeon? Or, you could repeat your previous answer; after all, you have ten fingers."
Wu Li said coldly, his gaze toward Kap devoid of any pity.
"Ho... ho... ho..."
Kap gasped for breath, his eyes filled with resentment as he looked toward Wu Li, "If I talk, can I avoid death?"
Wu Li: "At least you won’t die now, since you’re still of use to us."
Hearing Wu Li say this, Kap somewhat believed him. His face showed struggle, and he finally clenched his teeth, "Celeon has recently been staying in a private estate on the outskirts of the Third District."
Wu Li nodded in satisfaction, "Good, is there a secret passage out of here?"
Kap hesitated for a moment, then said, "There is."
Wu Li: "Get dressed and take me through that passage."
...
Fifteen minutes later, Wu Li emerged from the secret passage with Kap, leaving Entertainment City behind.
Xing Jun picked up the two in the car, and they quickly drove towards the Third District.
Having confirmed Celeon’s location, they planned to take action all at once and finish Celeon off tonight!
In foreign operations, the only advantage Hua Jian Security had against the powerful Mandela family was Grandmaster level experts like Wu Li and Xing Jun, which is why Qian Kun’s action plan revolved around these two, aiming for a decapitation strike.
Unfortunately, Celeon’s whereabouts had always been a mystery. After all, he had retired from the position of the Family Head, and many things no longer required his public appearance. Besides, he deliberately concealed his movements from outsiders. Hence, Wu Li and Xing Jun could only confirm Celeon’s location through Kap before launching the decapitation strike.
"We’re ready on our side, once you take out Celeon, we’ll immediately send someone to make contact with Ciro."
In the car, upon hearing about the progress Wu Li and Xing Jun had made, Qian Kun said over the phone.
"Don’t worry, if that old ghost is really there, he’s dead tonight," Xing Jun said while driving.
In the back seat, Wu Li and Kap sat together. Kap’s face was pale as he held his left hand, which had two fingers broken, while Wu Li calmly watched the scenery outside the window.
"Ask Kap about the defensive setup inside the estate," Qian Kun reminded.
Wu Li: "I’ve already asked, Kap doesn’t know much. Celeon is very cautious; the security personnel around him are dedicated to him alone and operate within a completely different system from the people under Kap’s command."
"Ask him more, getting a bit more detail is good, after all, we don’t know the exact situation over there," Qian Kun said.
Hearing this, Wu Li turned to look at Kap next to him. Kap instinctively shrank back, looking at Wu Li with fear.
"Talk again about the details inside the estate."
"I really don’t know much about it, please spare me."
"Then say what you know."
As the two continued their dialogue, the car approached Celeon’s private estate.
Before Wu Li and Xing Jun could get out of the car, Kap’s phone suddenly rang.
Wu Li was taken aback, looking at Kap.
Kap picked up the phone, his face changing color, and turned his head to say to Wu Li, "It’s... it’s Celeon calling."
"Oh?"
Xing Jun turned around from the front seat, looking at Kap.
After exchanging a glance with Xing Jun, Wu Li said to Kap, "Answer it, but no tricks."
Kap nodded, answered the call, and turned on speakerphone.
"Boss?"
There was no immediate response from the other end of the phone; after a few seconds of silence, a raspy, aged voice came through, "Wu Li is by your side, isn’t he?"
"!!"
Kap’s right hand shook, he nearly dropped the phone. Through the simultaneous translation earpiece, Wu Li understood the words and frowned, his eyes growing colder.
Kap frantically shook his head, signaling he hadn’t informed on them.
Xing Jun hesitated, then nodded at Wu Li and pointed at the phone.
Understanding the gesture, Wu Li spoke up, "I’m here."
Celeon’s voice continued, "Heh, I’m in the estate right in front of you. If you dare, come face me."
With that, the call was disconnected.
