Chapter 235

Aeverie’s eyes widened and she asked, "Your majesty, is that true?"

"Umm..." he cleared his throat. "I did not say that. I mean..." he cleared his throat again, this time lifting his fist to cover his mouth and stylishly look away. "What I mean is that my queen is skinny looking. She needs to add a few flesh here and there."

He brought his gaze back to them and gave a tight-lipped smile. "What are you waiting for? Run along now you two."

"Yes, your majesty." Both Evans and Aeverie turned away when Vidor called out to them. "Evans, Prepare a change of clothes for me. And Aeverie, add my breakfast to hers, will you?"

"Definitely, your majesty."

’Yes, your grace."

With that, bot parties scurried off to do his bidding and he nodded at the guards before retreating into her chambers and shutting the door. Without locking it this time.

To his surprise, as soon as he turned around, he met a dressed Era standing before him with her hair scattered around her face and body.

"Damn it!" Vidor jolted in shock and half screamed at the sight and backed off to the door.

"Hahhaaa hhhaaa..."

It was when her voice trailed off, laughing to her heart’s content that his fast beating heart began to calm down bit by bit.

He watched with wide eyes as Era playfully behaved. Rather than getting angry at the prank she made on him, he found himself, chuckling lightly and soon enough he joined in on the laughter.

After some time, he relaxed his body and closed the gap between them. "You are something else, you know that?"

She nodded her head, maintaining the simple yet gorgeous smile on her face. "I could not let you bully my lady royal like that without giving a taste of yoru own medicine," she giggled still.

"My medicine?" He stood in front o fher and held her chin, lifting up slowly. "I did not such thing. I was busy looking out for you."

"By bullying her when you were the one clearly at fault here?"

"I... I did not know you have not eaten. I just... I was too busy pleasing you."

’Well you did a half job. I need my strength to be able to do anything with you and you neglected that part and now you called me thin. Tsk, how does yoru majesty intend to make amends?"

"Hmm." He let her chin go and wrapped his hands around her waist, pressing her body to his. "Another strike, my love. You are not permitted to call me by my title, my queen."

’But... It isn’t fair. Why does that rule apply to only me?" Era pouted at him.

"Because you are too cute and I am your king. I get to decide and being thin, is umm a compliment. I simply want to spoil you so that when I make love to you, you would be able to withstand it and would not pass out on me."

Her cheeks burned bright at his hidden desire and she lowered her head, avoiding his eyes by all means. "I love it when you blush, Era."

"Stop teasing me."

"I am not. I am only stating the truth." He leaned closer to her face and pulled her chin up, lifting her face to his. "I want you. And I would not let you go after one round when we finally consummate our marriage."

His lips pressed keenly on hers, tasting the sweetness of her lips while his tongue snuck in an inch at a time to explore her soft moist tongue and warm mouth.

"Umm..." He brushed his right hand right over her back, massaging her skin and easing her stressed muscles. She moaned softly into his kiss feeling her body become light from his small massage.

Their eyes fluttered open and he stopped kissing her. "I still think and wonder, Era," Vidor said while his eyes watched hers, searching for that desire filled gaze that matched his. "I wonder if I sleep and wake up, you would still be here, in my arms."

She nodded her head slightly and reached up with her hands to rub against his cheeks softly. "I am here, Vidor. I would still be here no matter how times flies. I would be here, in this palace with you."

"Promise me."

Her own gaze searched his, looking for that hope she could hold on to and reassure him of her love. "I promise you. I would not leave you but..."

She saw a flash of pain in those gorgeous eyes of his but this was more than him now. She was giving her heart to him, she needed her own kind of promise.

"But, should incase you give me any reason to doubt yuour love for me, I would not leave you but I would withdraw and hate you."

’I would not, my love. I promise you," Vidor hurriedly promised.

He knew why she said that, it was because of the past with her family. And although she did not have anyone to protect he thought, he did not want her to feel threatened or betrayed by him and agreed without a second thought.

"I promise not to hurt you ever!"

"Thank you because I draw a line between love and hate and betrayal." He pressed his forehead on hers and kissed her lips softly. "Then you have my word too. I am yours."

He dove his fingers into her hair and pulled her gently on his shoulder, hugging her calmly.

As of that moment, they had crossed the threshold of their life and a new future with love. He hoped things would go on rightly in his life s that his promise to her would not be broken.

"Thank you."

"For?"

"Coming into my dark and lonely wretched life and giving me a new light."

Her hands circled around his neck and she released a soft sigh. "You are welcome, Vid." Hey pulled away from the hug and he released her.

"Come. You shouldn’t stand long. You are still tired."

"Haha, I am not a porcelain doll, Vidor. Stop treating me like glass."

"To me, you are more special than any glass or diamond in the world. Never forget that."
