Chapter 234

Knock! Knock!

The sound on the door pulled them back to reality, reminding them of the time.

"I guess it is time to end our romance?" Vidor announced to her and moved from her, springing up in a sitting position.

He helped her up and pulled the covers on her body. "Stay, I would go check who is at the door and possibly order your breakfast."

She nodded her head in understanding and allowed him to do as he wished. Her eyes escorted him to the door.

He did not bother covering himself up properly, leaving the top part of his body bare to the ravaging eyes of the interrupter.

Click! Clack!

She heard the sound of the door unlocking and he pulled it open. For some reason, she could already tell who it was. And when he opened the door, the voice of her Lady Royal went off, in a shocked expression, giving Era what to laugh over.

’Hehehe... oh my! Aeverie must be flustered in shock having to stare at her king’s brain turning body, hehe.’ She giggled at her own thoughts and her cheeks flushed even more as several thoughts of their naughtiness filled her mind.

Meanwhile, the moment Aeverie’s eyes landed on Vidor, a loud gasp followed and her eyes went wide, feeding on his abs and sexiness.

For a minute or more, Vidor did not say anything to her and just allowed her to take in all of him, feeding her eyes to her heart’s content.

Normally, he found those acts disgusting and he still did but seeing as she was Era’s Lady Royal, he made an exception and allowed her to look.

For the first few seconds, he had to admit it made him feel good and he could realize he was good looking enough to make Era go nuts from seeing him and he felt even more confident about winning her heart.

"Uh..." she stuttered for a few seconds and quickly lowered her head. "Your majesty."

’Aeverie."

"I-I... aish... I... Forgive me," she managed to let out after racking her brain for the right words to say.

"What wrong did you do?"

"Umm, I disturbed your majesty and the queen."

He raised his brows at her and turned his head to the side to see Evans was waiting for him with two guards, guarding outside the chamber.

"Hmm. Raise your head," he instructed and she did as he asked. "On the contrary, you did not disturb. You came right on time."

With her gaze still lowered, she asked, "I did?" She still was not sure how what he said was true but notwithstanding she waited to hear his explanation.

"Era hasn’t eaten since yesterday afternoon. Is this how you take care of my queen?"

She cast her eyes on his face briefly, to check if he was joking or not and then lowered her gaze again when she saw the coldness in his eyes.

Yes, that was the king she was used to but his anger was uncalled for considering no one could barge in.

’I think you are mistaken, your majesty. We actually treat her majesty quite well. If not that you went in yesterday and locked the door while stationing your guards, how else could we have made her majesty starved? If there was anyone who did, it had to be you.’ Aeverie complained inwardly.

"I asked a question," his deep voice pulled her out of her thoughts.

"Yes. Yes, sire."

"So you intentionally starve my queen? Is that it?"

He was the king and he was not supposed to be wrong even though he was wrong. Gosh did she dislike the system already?

"No. Not at all, your majesty. We do not."

’Then why did you not bring her meal yesterday?"

As much as she felt like yelling the answer to him, she could only lower her head some more and apologize. "My apologies, sire. It would not happen again."

"Better," he said quickly.

Sensing the injustice Evans walked up to him and lowered his head. "Your majesty, it wasn’t her fault entirely." He averted his gaze from Aeverie to look at Evans as his eyes dimmed at him.

Sensing the dread, he cleared his throat and continued, quickly. "What I meant your majesty is that umm you went in to see the queen. No one would dare interrupt without your authorization and you did not give room for that.:

"Are you saying I am the one at fault?" Vidor asked sternly.

"Not entirely." He shot a glare at Evans. He knew Jordan would dare go against him but not Evans. How could he say that? Whose side was he on?

"Then what do you mean by that? Whose side are you on?"

"Yours of course but right now I am on the side of the queen who has been starved all day." Vidor tilted his head to the side a bit while watching Evans through his lashes lazily. "I see."

"Yes. Where you are not at fault entirely would be at the part where she did not have her majesty’s maid bring the meal and we would have knocked and informed you."

"Exactly." She lifted his hand halfway in a majestic manner like the king he was. Aeverie could not hold in her chuckle as much as she tried, she let it out finally and lowered her head when she felt his piercing gaze on her.

"Hmm, I knew you were on my side." Both of them snuck a glance at each other and smiled. It was obvious he knew he was at fault but wanted to fault someone for not reminding him of her meal.

"Fine then, I would forgive you. But what are you still standing there for? Prepare her hot bath and also arrange for a magnificent breakfast for my wife. I need her to be blooming and shiny."

"Blooming?" Both Evans and Aeverie asked at once.

"Yes, why?"

"Umm, nothing. It is just that blooming, the word you used your majesty. Are you referring to the fact that her majesty is with child?" Evans asked.

Aeverie’s eyes widened and she turned to her side. "What?" she returned her gaze to Vidor and asked, "Your majesty, is that true?"
