Chapter 78: Cannot Exist In The Same World.

After keeping the book in a safe place, Tristan went back to the room.

He saw Aria sitting on the bed, looking lost in thoughts.

Tristan stares at her for a moment before breaking the silence. "What are you thinking about?"

Aria’s gaze moved to him before standing up as she said, "I still feel sleepy."

Aria was about to lie on the bed when Tristan asked, "What do you want to know?"

"Everything. About the book? Was it responsible for my grandmother being poisoned? Why is it that you could touch it without anything happening to you? Why do I keep having dreams where I see a girl who looks like me and a guy who looks exactly like you but with different names? Why does it feel like ever since I left your pack, I have been forgetting something? Why won’t you mark me? Why does it feel like you are hiding something really important from me? Tell me, Tristan, can you give me an answer to all these questions?"

When Tristan remained silent, Aria sighed and said, "Forget about it."

"Five hundred years ago, there was a witch who had immense power but had no status, so she decided to become the Luna of the most powerful pack then. She charmed the Alpha King with magic and made him believe that she was his mate. Before he even realized that he was being manipulated, it was already late. He had not only marked the witch, but she was already pregnant for him. Even with that, the King could have still left her, but he didn’t because she was one of the reasons more people feared his kingdom, his pack.

Even when pregnant, the witch wanted to become more powerful, so she went to seek more Lowe’s, and she did get it, but unfortunately, when her child was born, more than half of her powers were transferred to the baby boy.

The boy grew up hated by his father for being born through deceit and hated by his mother for taking away her powers.

Even with hatred from both parents, he still knew his duty, and that was to one day become the Alpha King.

Time passed, and he became betrothed to the Alpha daughter of the neighboring pack, and when she came to his pack, she came along with her maid, an Omega.

It turned out that Omega was his mate. She was different from any woman he had ever met. She made him laugh and made him realize that he wasn’t a difficult person to love, and even though their relationship was forbidden, the prince decided to fight for it.

He wanted that Omega to be his Luna, and he was ready to do anything to make it happen, but unfortunately, this decision only brought her pain. The prince made a deal with his father that if he would kill the beast, eliminating Alphas, then the Omega would be given to him as a reward.

Happy about this, the prince left the girl alone in his pack, and while he was gone, her wolf was stolen from her, and she was mocked and stoned by his pack.

Left in the woods to die, the beast found her; he took a strange interest in her and treated her and healed her. When the beast found out that the girl meant so much to the werewolf prince whose powers he wanted to absorb, the Omega became his hostage." Tristan narrated the story with a distant look in his eyes.

Aria, on the other hand, wondered why she suddenly felt scared. Why was her heart racing, and this story, it felt so familiar? Has she perhaps heard it before? No, there was no way she could have forgotten such a heartbreaking story.

Aria’s attention moved back to Tristan as she heard his voice.

"The prince thought he could slay the beast and save her at the same time, but instead, when the beast was about to lose the battle with the prince, he killed the girl right in front of him. Her eyes had looked at him with sadness as she took her dying breath. Her heart that once beat so strongly lay on the bare floor.

Out of rage, the prince attacked the beast and killed him with the magic he had inherited from his mother. But that was not enough for him; he drained the beast of its blood, not knowing that he was absorbing the beast magic as well.

No matter how hard he cried for his beloved to return back to him, the hole in her chest was enough to tell him that she was never returning. The only person who had loved him in this world was forever gone. Once again, he was alone.

Unfortunately for the prince, his loneliness wasn’t his only problem; the magic within him was stronger than his body, so right there, under the influence of the immense magic in him, he created a book and transferred half of his powers inside it.

After that, he took the heart of his lover and placed it back inside her chest and then cast a reincarnation spell on her, with the hope that, when she was born again, she would live a happy life." Tristan said,. The spell he had cast for Aitana to come back again was a forbidden spell, and sadly, one of the consequences of it was that the one who had cast the spell and the one whom the spell was cast for cannot exist in the same world.

When he came into this world blind and sick, he had suspected that his Aitana was also in this world, but he didn’t want to get his hopes high.

Seeing her healthy and happy was all he ever wanted. He should be satisfied with just this, so why can’t he help but wish he could also get his happy ending with her?

"The prince? What happened to him?"

Tristan looked at Aria when he heard her soft voice and was surprised to see tears in her eyes.

He walked over to her and cleaned the tears on her face; he kissed her forehead and replied, "The prince went on a killing rampage. He killed his father, who had deceived him; he killed his mother, who had taken her wolf; and then he killed his own people, who had stoned her."

"Did he find happiness after doing those things?" Aria asked, wondering why she was even asking such a question.

Tristan smiled sadly as he shook his head and replied, "The prince only found happiness when he stabbed himself in the heart and died beside her. The girl who looked like you and the guy who looked like me in your dreams are Aitana and Delvin."

"The prince and the Omega? Are we their reincarnation?" That was the only explanation Aria could come up with, after hearing everything Tristan had said.

Tristan chuckled as he replied, "I think we are."

"A happy ending."

"What?"

"If we are really their reincarnation, then in this life, let’s have a happy ending." Aria said as her eyes became teary.

Staring at the sincerity in her face, Tristan pulled her into his embrace, and a soft sob left his lips. How was he going to tell her that there was no happy ending for him, not now, not ever?
