Married To The Blind Alpha
Chapter 79: Grow Old Together

Chapter 79: Grow Old Together

Aria caressed Tristan’s hair as he fell asleep on her lap. His heartbreaking sob still made her heart clench in pain till this moment.

Even though Tristan had claimed that he was no longer hiding anything from her, why did she still feel as if there was something he wasn’t telling her and something was what was responsible for his tears?

Aria looked at him sleeping and whispered, "How do I tell you that I also want to protect you too?"

She leaned down to kiss his forehead as she whispered, "I love you, Tristan."

While Aria confessed her love, Tristan, on the other hand, was once again trapped in his nightmare.

The blood on his clothes, sword, and hand was evidence of tonight’s endeavor.

With his messy white hair that was stained with blood and dull red eyes, Delvin became a killing machine, slaughtering everyone in his pack, sparing no one, neither women nor children.

The once-mighty pack was now consumed by flames and echoed with the screams of its people. Standing amidst the bodies of those he had slain, Delvin felt no remorse.

After looking at the chaos he had caused, Delvin walked out of his pack, the flames doing nothing to him even as they touched him.

He returned to the cave where he had placed her body and slowly approached her lifeless form, gently gathering her into his arms.

There were no tears in his eyes as he felt her cold body against his skin. He held her in silence for a few moments before finally speaking.

"When I was young, I asked my mother why she and Dad didn’t love me, and she told me that monsters aren’t love. I believed it until I met you. You loved me unconditionally, and every moment we spent together was my happiest. You were my most prized possession, and I couldn’t protect you. After meeting you, all I wanted was to live a happy life with you."

Delvin chuckled darkly as he continued, "If we were just an ordinary couple, then I would have asked you to marry me the moment we met. I would have given you a better life and fulfilled all of your dreams. We would have traveled the world like you have always dreamed of and then maybe have two or three kids. We would watch our kids achieve their dreams as well and grow old together."

Delvin laughed as he imagined everything he had said. His laugh slowly turned into a soft sob as he held her cold body closer to him.

"Please, come back to me. Please." His voice trembled as he pleaded for her return even though he knew it was impossible.

His sorrowful cry was the only sound that could be heard from the dark cage.

With tears still in his eyes, Delvin carefully laid her body on the ground, and then he picked up his sword, pointing it to his heart.

Without any hesitation, he used his sword to pierce his own chest, ensuring it made contact with the heart.

The moment he felt a deep cut in his heart, he removed the sword and fell on the floor, right beside her.

Just then, his best friend named Cole rushed into the cave and immediately went to him, shouting, "What have you done?"

Cole’s eyes shifted to Aitana’s lifeless body before turning to Delvin, who was barely breathing.

Blood flowed from Delvin’s mouth as he opened his mouth to speak.

"You shouldn’t speak; I will take you to a healer right away." Cole said, ready to move him when Delvin heard his hand.

"Cole, you know the reason I have called you here is not to save me." Delvin said, trying his best to pass his final wish before finally giving up.

"No, Delvin, please..."

"The blood of my heart is the last ingredient for the spell to be complete."

"What spell?"

"In years to come, Aitana will be reincarnated. She will live again, but for that to happen, you must promise to do exactly as I have asked."

"I promise."

"Take a portion of the blood from my heart and put it on her open chest. I have already cast the spell, and this is what is needed for it to be activated." Delvin said as his vision slowly became blurry.

Cole cried bitterly as he watched his friend struggle to breathe.

"Cole, can you join Aitana’s hands together with mine?"

Delvin smiled when he felt her cold hands joined together with his. If only he could meet her when he dies, but he knows the truth. His Aitana was a kind and pure soul while he was a monster; it was already a miracle that she was even mated to him.

"When I die, I wish to be together with her."

"I understand." Cole said, trying his best to control his breath. How did it come to this? Why was the only way for these two to be together was through death?

Delvin closed his eyes, and with his last breath, he whispered, "Vita sanguinis mei vitam tibi det."

Cole broke down in tears the moment Delvin stopped breathing, but regardless of the sadness he felt, he still did exactly what Delvin had asked.

.....

Tristan opened his eyes, and everywhere was dark. He stayed in that darkness for a few minutes before his brown eyes changed into a beautiful golden color.

He turned to see Aria sleeping beside him and watched the gentle rise and fall of her breath, trying desperately to erase the memory of her lifeless body in his arms.

After watching her for a while, Tristan got out of bed and went to the kitchen. He took a glass, grabbed a carton of milk from the fridge, and poured it in.

He stared at the milk for a few seconds before muttering a spell.

Slowly, the milk began to foam, rising toward the rim of the glass—then, just as suddenly, it settled back to normal.
