Married To The Blind Alpha -
Chapter 70: Hunger
Chapter 70: Hunger
It’s been an hour, and Aria wondered what Cole and Tristan have been talking about in the study, and also the way Cole had looked at her when he saw her bothered her.
Did she do something to him again? Aria thought as she made breakfast for her and Tristan.
When it was done, she was about to go call him when her phone rang.
Aria stared at the number calling her, and after it rang for a while, she picked up. "Unless you are calling to tell me that you have already confessed your affair to Damien, then we don’t really have anything to talk about."
"Why are you being this way? Is Damien really more important to you than me? Have you forgotten everything that I have done for you?"
"You always say that to me. Will you keep saying that whenever you need something from me?"
"Aria....."
"Damien does not deserve to be cheated on by you and his Beta. He deserves the truth, and it’s either you tell him or I will."
"You said you wouldn’t say a word if I ended my affair with Jazziel."
"But you haven’t ended it, have you?" It was more like a statement than a question. Aria knew that Hailey, who has always been obsessed with finding her mate, would not easily end things with Jazziel.
Hailey was silent for a few seconds before she ended the call.
Aria removed her phone from her ears and let out a sigh. Dealing with Hailey’s affair was actually the last thing on her list because lately she can’t help but feel that something bad is going to happen, and the last time she felt that way was when she received a call from the hospital about her grandmother.
Aria walked to Tristan’s study and was about to knock on the door when she heard Cole’s voice.
"This guy named Gerald wasn’t just an ordinary werewolf. He was a Beta wolf, and his mind was clearly intact. I feel like things are about to get out of control, and we still don’t know who the mastermind is and how exactly Aria is involved in this."
"Cole, do me a favor and be quiet. I need a moment to think." Aria could hear Tristan’s voice; he sounded frustrated, and that was rare because whenever she saw Tristan, it was like he always had things under control. The next thing she heard was a loud noise from the study, which made her flinch, breaking a flower vase in the process.
Aria looked at the broken flower vase, and before she could react, the door opened, and Cole gazed at her with a dark look in his eyes.
"I....." Aria felt embarrassed being caught eavesdropping and didn’t even know what to say. She calmed herself and said, "Breakfast is ready."
"Cole, leave us for a moment." Tristan said.
And the moment Cole left the study, Aria entered and closed the door.
"How much did you hear?" Tristan asked.
"Nothing much."
"Come. You are too far from me." Tristan said, slightly sitting on his desk.
Aria walked towards him but remained a step away from him.
Tristan pulled her closer to him, his hand on her waist as he asked more firmly, "What did you hear?"
"That a guy named Gerald is a Beta wolf and that I’m a burden to you."
Tristan frowned and said, "I’m certain Cole did not say that."
"It sounded like it. Who is this Gerald?" Aria asked.
"Remember Lia?"
"Of course I remember her; the thought that she is really dead still makes me uneasy." Aria replied, remembering Lia really did bring an uncomfortable feeling in her heart, and because of that, she tried her best to forget that she ever knew a person like Lia.
"But you know it wasn’t your fault, right?"
"I know," Aria said sadly.
Tristan cupped her cheek and whispered, "Aria, the world you and I both live in is currently very dangerous, and that is why we must protect ourselves, even at the cost of others. I want you to make a promise to me, right now."
"What promise?"
"That you will never hesitate to protect yourself even at the cost of others. You wouldn’t be like those heroines who like to sacrifice their lives for other people. Be selfish and always yourself first."
"Do you also put yourself first?"
Tristan smiled and replied, "You will always be my number one, Aria. Always."
"Then you will be my number one as well." Aria stated firmly.
Tristan chuckled and hugged her. He loved the way her petite body fit perfectly in his arms; he loved everything about her.
Aria broke their hug and asked, "Is this Gerald related to Lia?"
"Last night, Cole was attacked by him, and he kept asking Cole about the whereabouts of Lia. I’m guessing they were accomplices."
"But this also means that he knows we kidnapped her."
"It’s more than that, Aria. Since Gerald is a part of them, he should know that Lia is already dead, but he doesn’t, and that means Lia’s death was withheld from him on purpose. I have a feeling I will be meeting this Gerald very soon, and also the witch who killed Milton was found dead this morning."
"What?"
"Her blood dried out, with scratches made by wolves all over her body. She was killed exactly the way Milton was killed, and with her death, I will be proven wrong in front of the elders, and I will become a suspect to them."
"They can’t hurt you, right?" Aria asked, worried that something might happen to Tristan.
Seeing the worry in her eyes, Tristan gently stroked her cheek and replied, "I will be fine, Aria."
Why? Why did those words sound like a lie? Aria thought as she fixed her gaze on the slight smile on his face.
In an attempt to change the subject, he asked, "You said breakfast was ready?"
Aria nodded. "You must be hungry, right?"
Tristan kissed her and whispered, "I am indeed hungry, but for something else."
Aria no longer felt shy or flustered at Tristan’s advances, but this time Cole was just right outside the door, and the thought he could hear them made her immediately shake her head and push Tristan away, but Tristan pulled her back to him, locking her lips with his. His hand quickly unzipped her trousers and turned her around, making her sit on his desk.
"Cole is..."
"Cole knows how to get himself busy, and I’m really hungry." Tristan’s eyes were filled with hunger as he said those words. He took off her trousers along with her underwear and then knelt down, bringing her legs to his shoulders.
Aria’s breath grew ragged, her body trembling with anticipation. A soft moan escaped as Tristan’s mouth moved against her, slow and eager. She pressed a hand over her lips, trying to stay quiet, but he didn’t stop, he only became more intense. Her efforts were useless, and as he sent her spiraling into pleasure, one thought filled her mind: how could she ever live without this man?
