Married To The Blind Alpha
Chapter 71: The Book 1

Chapter 71: The Book 1

Tristan dragged an embarrassed Aria out of the study and said "He is not here."

Aria slowly came out of hiding behind Tristan and truly Cole was not in the living room.

Tristan cupped her flushed cheek and laughed "You look so cute."

Aria pouted her lips and scolded "Next time we shouldn’t do that when someone is around."

Tristan chuckled and neither agreed nor disagreed; he only kissed her forehead affectionately. "Let’s eat; I’m sure you are hungry."

"Wait, I want to tell you something. Since my grandmother is going to wake up soon, I would like to go to the house and clean it. It’s been long since I’ve been there anyway."

"I will ask Susan to go with you."

"I want to go alone."

"Aria....."

"It’s just a two-hour drive, and also, I have your protective pendant with me. I will be fine, Tristan. Please."

The thought of her being alone at this time made him uneasy. Was he being too overprotective? "When will you be back?"

"Latest 6pm."

"Call me when you get there and send me a message every thirty minutes till you come back."

Aria nodded her head with a smile and said, "Let’s eat. I made your favorite."

Tristan followed her to the dining table, eager to eat her food. Their breakfast was filled with casual talks and laughter, but amidst all these, Tristan felt like something huge was going to happen.

....

After breakfast, Tristan lost his sight again. Worried, Aria refused to leave his side, but Tristan gently assured her that he would be fine. He explained that in three hours, his vision would return.

Even though she was still worried, Aria left to her grandmother house and to her surprise, she saw Damien coming out from the opposite building.

"Damien." Aria called out as she rushed to him, excited to see him again.

Damien raised his head from his phone, a surprise look on his face as he saw Aria walking towards him.

"Aria, why are you here?" Damien asked.

"I came to clean the house for my grandma and also to bring to her anything that she might need once she wakes up."

"So that means she isn’t awake yet."

"But Tristan has already given her the cure, so I’m sure she will be opening her eyes soon."

"You trust Tristan that much?" Damien asked with a frown.

"I do, and I don’t want to argue about it," Aria said firmly, her tone leaving no room for debate.

Hearing her firm tone, Damien decided to change the topic. It was obvious Tristan has somehow blinded her and for her to leave that man, he must find proof.

"You said you came to clean your grandma’s house; I will help you."

"Aren’t Alphas always busy?" Aria asked.

"Is Tristan always busy?"

Seeing no harm in his question, Aria nodded. "He is always busy."

Damien’s eyes narrowed as he asked, "But how busy can a blind person get?"

"Tristan isn’t actually....." Aria stopped herself before she could complete her words. Was she just about to tell Damien that Tristan could see with the eyes of his wolf? For a moment, she thought Damien was the same person whom she could tell everything to and maybe she could still share her secrets with him but Tristan sight was his secret and sharing it with someone who sees him as a bad person would definitely be a mistake.

"Tristan isn’t actually what?" Damien softly asked.

Aria let out a fake laugh and replied, "Tristan isn’t actually that busy. You know how exaggerating I can be sometimes."

Damien knew she was hiding something from him, but pushing the matter would only make her withdraw from him.

Feeling Damien’s intense gaze, Aria shifted the conversation. "Did you come here to remember your grandmother?"

Damien’s eyes softened as he glanced at the house, releasing a quiet sigh. "I still miss her, you know." His gaze returned to Aria, and he gently took her hand. "I really do hope Grandma Ivy gets better. I know how much she means to you."

"Thank you," Aria said, offering a small smile. After a brief pause, she found herself asking, "Does your offer to help me clean the house still stand?"

A warm chuckle escaped Damien. "Of course it does."

Damien followed Aria back to her house, and a part of him was glad that an opportunity had arrived for him to spend some time with her.

Aria brought out the house key from her purse, and as she was about to use it to open the door, she realized that it was already opened.

Seeing the frown on her face, Damien asked, "What is it?"

Aria looked at Damien and said, "It’s open."

"What?" Damien gently pushed her aside and said "Stay behind me."

Aria agreed and allowed Damien to go in first, she followed after him and was shocked to see her house scattered. The Tv was broken, the furnitures were flipped upside down and everywhere looked so disorganized.

"Who could have done this? What luxury does a thief thinks a small house owned by an old woman would have?" Aria asked as she looked round the disorganized living room.

Damien remain quiet for a few seconds, his eyes wandering round the living room as he made a conclusion "Whoever did this didn’t come here to steal something."

Damien walked forward and picked up the ruby necklace he has bought for Aria and said "This necklace is worth ten million dollars, if truly it was money the person wanted then this wouldn’t be lying around. Whoever did this was looking for something else."

"But what?"

"That I do not know, but maybe you do. Think carefully; does your grandmother own anything that is not monetary but extremely important to her?

"Except we are talking about her garden at the courtyard then..." Before Aria could complete her statement, a memory invaded her mind. She was twelve years old and had gotten scared after having a nightmare.

Aria could remember her grandma telling her a story to put her back to sleep, and when her grandma thought she was sleeping, she heard her grandma say.

’No one must find the book, Aria, not even you. I fear so much for your future that you will no longer be the sweet girl I’ve raised. After taking away your mother and father from you, will this world also take away your humanity?’
