Married To The Blind Alpha -
Chapter 49: The Alpha Of The Crestfrost Pack
Chapter 49: The Alpha Of The Crestfrost Pack
Dressed in a silver gown, Aria glanced at herself one more time in the mirror before sending a message to Tristan.
Today was Hailey’s wedding, and she knew that the only reason for her nervousness was because she had told her friend that Tristan would be attending the wedding.
Aria’s phone vibrated in her hands, and a smile played on her lips as she read Tristan’s reply.
’What are you wearing? Send me a picture.’
Aria turned her phone into camera mode and took a picture of herself and then sent it to Tristan.
She bit her lips as she saw him typing and let out a soft laugh when his reply came in.
’Beautiful.’
’When will you get back?’ Aria typed. He hasn’t been home since yesterday, and even though they have talked on the phone, a part of her was still worried about him.
’Tonight. Wait for me.’
Aria’s face brightened when she read his text. Even though he has only been gone for a day, she can’t deny that the house felt so empty without him.
Another message came in, and her cheek reddened as she read his last message.
’Without clothes.’
Aria chuckled, but her smile faltered when she saw Hailey’s message asking her if she was almost there.
The venue of the wedding was changed to the Shadow Moon pack, and going into a place that will be filled with wolves didn’t exactly leave her excited.
Aria collected her purse from the dressing table and left the room. She smiled when she saw Sasha waiting for her outside the house and said, "I’m curious about one thing: why you?"
Sasha, dressed in her black shirt and jeans with boots, knew what she was asking about and replied, "Because even though I am not your fan, I will still give up my life to protect you."
"Why give up your life to protect someone you hate?"
"You are the Alpha’s choice, and you may not know it, but in the Golden Rills pack, it is an honor for one to be appointed a task by the Alpha, and my task today is to ensure your safety." Sasha said with a stern look on her face.
Aria nodded and asked, "You already know where I’m going, right?"
"The Shadow Moon Pack," Sasha replied.
"Yes and I know it’s just a task to you but thank you." Aria said and entered the car.
There was glimpse of surprise in Sasha eyes as Aria thanked her. Lia had told her to keep an eye on Aria, because she was sure that the Luna was a traitor just like Eva.
Even though Sasha has been given orders to look after Aria, she has already made a resolve in her heart that if Aria was actually a traitor then she will kill her with her own hands.
........
Golden Rills Pack.
Training Ground.
Maybe it’s because their Alpha was watching them today, but the warriors of the Golden Rills pack seemed excited as they trained, especially a warrior named Slade.
Cole laughed and said, "I bet they are all excited that you are here. It’s been years since you last watched them fight."
Currently Tristan was wearing his dark glasses and holding his cane in his hand, but to the warriors who were busy training, that was enough for them.
Tristan nodded and turned to leave when a voice stopped him
"Al.... Alpha?"
Tristan stopped and turned to the voice without saying anything.
"What is it, Slade?" Cole gently asked when he noticed the young man was hesitant to speak.
Slade was an eighteen-year-old boy who had always admired Tristan, and he also wished to be a close ally to him, just the way Cole and Lia were.
Slade clenched his wooden stick, and he could feel everyone’s eyes on him, but he knew he couldn’t give up this chance. No one knew when next the Alpha would come to this place again, and someone like him, who barely passed the test to become a warrior, had no chance of meeting someone like Alpha Tristan alone.
The young man cleared his throat and spoke, "I would like to stay by your side, Alpha Tristan."
The other warriors burst into laughter after he had spoken, and a man named Bryson mocked, "You can barely fight with your claws, and you wish to stay by the Alpha’s side; what a joke!"
"Calm down everyone. Slade is still a kid." Cole said with a tinge of amusement in his voice.
"I’m not a kid!" Slade shouted. Ignoring the fifteen men staring at him.
Tristan let out a sigh and asked, "Is that all?"
"I....know you don remember me but...."
"I remember you Slade." Tristan said, taking a step closer to the young boy. "You were just ten years old, when I heard your hands and brought you into this pack."
Slade eyes brighten as Tristan spoke of the time he first came to this pack. That means the Alpha remember him, it also means he has a chance.
"I have always admired you and I wish to....."
Focus on your studies." Tristan said, interrupting the young man. "If you wish to become someone worthy to stand by my side, then focus on your studies. Stay out of trouble and go to a good university; after achieving all these, then you can return to me, and I will give you a chance."
Focus on his studies? Slade let out a sad sigh because he was not only bad at school, but he was also thinking of dropping out after completing high school. Now that Tristan has given him such a condition to stay by his side, Slade has decided to further his education.
You have grown so big; I no longer need to be your reason for living, Slade."
Slade’s eyes became watery as Tristan spoke, and he bit his tongue not to allow his tears to fall. When he was ten years old, his father had driven his mother out of his former pack, and they were attacked by rogues, and when trying to protect him, his mother ended up badly injured.
It was the Alpha who found them, but unfortunately his mother couldn’t make it, and Tristan brought him into his pack and even went as far as to ensure that no one would pick on him.
"I will go to school, and when I’m done, you will have no more reason to reject me." Slade said with a determined tone.
Tristan ignored him and turned his back as he said, "Let’s go, Cole."
"You should focus on school. Aren’t you good in tech? If you graduate with a good grade, then I promise you a position at the company." Cole said and ruffled the boy’s hair before following Tristan out.
After Tristan and Cole left the training ground, Bryson looked at Slade with a frown and said, "So the little orphan boy wants to stand beside our Alpha. What will you be able to do for him, fill him his coffee?"
Some of them chuckled, but Slade ignored them and walked out as well.
Although the Golden Rills Pack was a pack known for its strength, unity, and riches, there was one thing it had in common with other packs, and that is the strong always prey on the weak.
........
Tristan returned to his office, and he heard Cole locking the door after entering.
"Slade is still just a kid; perhaps I shouldn’t have indulged him when he insisted on training to be a warrior."
"Forget all that; where is Derek?" Tristan asked, removing his glasses.
Derek was the leader of the warriors, but unfortunately, he had one problem: he couldn’t keep it in his pants.
"Maybe sweet-talking a lady into bedding her."
Tristan sighed and sat down. "Any improvement on Aria’s grandmother?"
"So far, none but Melissa’s advice for us to wait a little longer before deciding on if the cure worked or not."
"And Lia?"
Cole frowned as he asked, "What about Lia?"
"Did Lia tell you that she came into my house and spouted nonsense to Aria?"
"I would like to say I’m surprised but unfortunately, I’m not. Lia believes she is untouchable and is protected by you and her ego has grown even bigger when you barely have her any punishment for role in Eva death."
"Forget Eva. I do not wish to speak to Lia because if I see her in front of me, I will end up doing something terrible to her. When you see Lia, tell her this: I will personally cut off her tongue the next time she goes to my wife and says rubbish to her."
Cole knew that Tristan meant every word he just spoke, so he nodded and said, "Yes, sir."
Tristan massaged his head; his migraine was starting to become more frequent. "Leave me for a while."
Cole wished he could help Tristan ease his pain, but unfortunately he couldn’t. He turned to leave his office when he suddenly remembered something and stopped.
"There is something I haven’t told you yet."
"What?"
"Milton’s beta daughter is getting married today."
"I know, Aria told me of Hailey’s wedding and should already be there by now."
"Do you know who she is getting married to?"
Tristan frowned and answered "I don’t know and honestly, I do not care."
Cole smiled and replied, "It is still my duty to inform you of this. Hailey is getting married to the new Alpha of Crest Frost pack, and from what I heard, after getting married to Hailey, he wished to challenge Milton’s son for the Alpha position."
"He wished to control two packs?"
"Yes, but I’m certain his greed won’t end there. Very soon, he will seek you out."
"What is the name of this Alpha?"
"Damien."
Damien? That was also the name Aria mentioned that day. Could they be the same person?
