Married To The Blind Alpha -
Chapter 36: Never.
Chapter 36: Never.
After watching Aitana tell a sleeping Devin sorry, everywhere became dark and the pain she was feeling in her head returned along with her scream, but once again it stopped, and she held his soothing voice.
"Aria."
Aria opened her eyes to see Tristan in front of her, and without thinking too much about it, she hugged him tightly and said, "I thought I would never see you again."
Tristan wrapped his hand around her and said "That will never happen."
"Get me out of here, Tristan, please." Aria said, pulling away to look at him, and then she noticed an unconscious Kia just a few steps away from them.
"Is she.....?"
"She is alive." Tristan said, cupping her cheek to focus on him, "Let’s get you out of here."
Aria nodded. She didn’t care if that evil witch was dead or alive; all she wanted was to leave this place.
"Close your eyes." Tristan said.
Aria obeyed, and the next thing she felt was Tristan’s hand on her head as he said.
"Ex hoc Mundo non pertines."
As soon as he spoke those words, Aria opened her eyes in a gasp and noticed that she was back in her room. She turned to her side when she felt a strong hold on her hand and saw an unconscious Tristan, right beside her.
"Tris... Tristan." Aria’s voice trembled as she called out to him, but there was no response. His body was as cold as ice, and his dark hair was slowly turning into white.
At this point, Aria was already becoming scared, so she kept shaking him, and her eyes were already becoming teary as she called out, "Tristan! Come on, wake up." But still there was no response.
She immediately placed her head on his chest and let out a sigh of relief when she felt his beating heart.
This means he was still alive.
Not knowing what to do, Aria decided to call Cole, but she couldn’t remove her hand from his, so she just lay her head on his chest to keep hearing his heartbeat.
Back in the forest, Aria just escaped, Tristan watched as Kia stood up, and he could see the confusion on her face even before she asked.
"How did you get here? I know how powerful my spells are, so how did you enter her mind, and where is Aria?"
"Away from your madness. Did you know Aria was my wife?" Tristan asked as he took a step towards her and let out a smirk when she walked backwards.
She was known as one of the most powerful witches in the world, so why was she scared in front of a mere Alpha wolf? Kia thought to herself, but she still found herself moving backward.
"I asked you a question. Did you know she was my wife?"
"I knew that she is the wife of Alpha Tristan, a man who is said to be blind, but it seems people only know what you have allowed them to know about you. Not only can you see, but you also possess a mysterious power, because how else were you able to destroy my spells and take Aria out? Who, no, what are you?"
Tristan let out a dark chuckle as he repeated her question, "What am I? I am a werewolf. What else can I be?"
"A werewolf who is capable of casting spells is no ordinary wolf. Milton was right to be wary of you."
"Oh... So you are Milton’s witch. Why did you bring Aria here?"
"For her to awaken her powers."
Tristan frowned as he took a step forward and asked, "What powers?"
"You didn’t know that Aria is a member of the Yalk clan."
"I knew that, and I also know that they were cursed, and never again was anyone of them born with powers after the death of the last Cadian."
"Until Aria."
"What?"
"When Aria’s mother was pregnant with her, I felt the power so strong in her womb, and unfortunately, Layla could see right through me when we met and escaped my grasp. If she hadn’t been so foolish, then Aria would have been a force to reckon with by now."
"You are saying that Aria has powers. That’s impossible." Tristan said, but then he remembered the first time he met Aria, the way he couldn’t sense her presence unless she touched him, but still, that isn’t enough to prove that Aria has powers. He has been sharing the same bed with her for weeks, and he is sure he has not seen a trace of power in her.
"Believe me or not, but it is the truth."
"Is that why the Ferals are after her?"
"Maybe."
Tristan could see Kia was hiding something, but since his time here was limited, he quickly went straight to his question: "What do you know about the Ferals?"
Kia kept quiet and looked away from him.
Seeing that she was not willing to speak, Tristan smiled softly and said, "Milton is dead, and whoever killed Milton must surely be after you. The reason why you submitted Milton’s body to the Elders is because you were desperately looking for protection, and Celphias, he would have ignored you, but I can protect you. You have seen a glimpse of my powers; I am capable enough to ensure your safety."
Kia looked at Tristan, and there was hope in her eyes as she asked, "You promise?"
"I promise." Tristan said without any hesitation.
Kia let out a breath of relief and said, "I do not know a lot about the Ferals, but from my visions, I know they have an army."
"For what purpose?"
"That I do not know."
"Why do they need Aria?"
"I am not certain but they must know what I know."
"They know about her powers. Is it possible they wish to make her the new Cadian."
"I don’t think so. When Aria stood before me, I saw a vision of her dress as a bride, her eyes empty."
"Was that all?"
"I’m afraid so." Kia said.
"Anything else you would like to tell me, Kia?"
"A question."
"Ask." Tristan said with a smile.
"Are you the white wolf?"
The smile on Tristan’s face immediately dropped when he heard that question.
Seeing how his mood changed, Kia smiled and said, "So you are the white wolf."
"What does it matter about the color of my wolf?"
"You must know of the prophecy concerning the white wolf. The child of the white wolf will destroy the world. Milton was certain it was you."
"Is that why he decided to make a fake mate bond with me and his daughter?" Tristan asked as his smile returned.
Kia’s eyes widened. "You knew?"
"I wouldn’t have been able to bring Golden Rills Pack this far if I wasn’t even able to tell a fake from a real."
"Why didn’t you say anything?"
"And ruin the fun?" Tristan asked with a crazy smile in his eyes. "To be honest, I was already getting a little bit bored until I felt a pull with Milton’s daughter. At first, I thought it was real, but the moment I stood alone with Eva, I knew immediately that it wasn’t possible. I wanted to reject her and get it done with but I decided that this game could be fun so I played along. I brought her to my pack and introduced her as the Luna, and the people were actually accepting of her, and she was indeed a sweet girl, but I wanted to return a different daughter to Milton. A damaged one, one who could no longer remember how to smile."
"So you tormented her?"
"I didn’t need to. The ever jealous Lia was there to do it. And when I saw as the light in her eyes slowly begin to disappear, I got bored and knew I had to get rid of her."
"You could have just returned her."
"I did want to return her; after all, I have achieved what I wanted from her. She was no longer the bright and cheerful Eva that once came to my pack, but Lia’s jealousy got out of hand, and one thing led to another, and before I knew it, Eva was dead, and saying she committed suicide was one of the quickest ways to get rid of any more drama in my pack."
"Are you going to do the same thing to Aria? I’m sure you know that it was Milton who sent her to you."
"Enough of your questions. Now, it’s time for you to answer mine. Why did Milton think that I was the white wolf?"
"Because no matter the duel or challenges you take on, you never change to your wolf. He said that it was as if you were hiding something."
"So you are telling me that the reason Milton made a fake bond between me and his daughter was so that she would give birth to my child?" Tristan asked, and there was disgust in his eyes as he even thought about it.
Kia nodded her head and said, "He believed that a child who could destroy the world must be a very powerful one, and with this child, he could also rule your pack."
Tristan burst into laughter and said, "What nonsense. I can’t believe he did all that just for a prophecy that will never happen."
"What do you mean?"
"How can I bring a child into this world when I have barely two years to stay in it?"
"So you admit that you are the white wolf. Then means you and Aria..."
"I will never allow Aria to get pregnant with my child; it will never happen."
