Married To The Blind Alpha
Chapter 30: Home.

Chapter 30: Home.

Inside a ward in Milan hospital, Tristan stood closely to Aria’s grandmother and whispered, "They don’t look alike."

"Should I proceed?" Doctor Myles, who was standing beside him, asked.

Tristan nodded and watched as the doctor pierce an injection into the old woman’s skin to draw blood.

After taking her blood, he transferred it into a vial and gave it to Tristan.

Tristan frowned at how dark the blood looked and asked, "You say she is getting better?"

Doctor Myles sighed, "Her condition is definitely not the same as when she first came here. Her organs are no longer getting damaged, but..."

"But?"

"They aren’t getting any better either. When Aria first gave her grandmother that antidote, the scan showed that she was slowly healing, but it suddenly stopped."

"I will handle her from now on."

"You mean you are going to take her out of the hospital."

"Since you can neither heal nor protect her, I will be taking her with me." Tristan said.

"But...."

"I’m surprised you have an objection." Tristan said, giving Doctor Myles a sharp look.

Doctor Myles took a step back as he said, "There are no objections." His higher-ups have already informed him that the man coming to see him was a big investor in the hospital, and whatever he says should be carried out.

After the doctor left, Tristan opened the vial and took a sniff of the blood. His golden eyes glowed as he perceived the familiar smell of magic.

He covered the vial and placed his hand on Ivy’s stomach, and it was as though something was moving inside her. What type of poison have they given to this woman and why?

His phone buzzed in his pocket; he brought it out and saw that it was Cole calling.

Glancing one last time at the woman lying on the bed, Tristan answered the call and asked, "Did you find anything?"

"Suzette says it will be difficult for her to find the location of anyone belonging to that clan without having anything to trace them. She has asked for Aria’s blood."

"No."

"We need to know if Aria and her grandmother attack are connected to them being a member of the Yalk clan. We need to find out if the rest are alive, and right now the only way for that to happen is through Luna’s blood. Aria is the only one we know that belongs to that clan, and therefore her blood is the only thing that can trace them."

"What about the blood of her grandmother?"

"Her grandmother’s blood is poisoned, Alpha. It won’t work."

Tristan kept quiet for a brief second before saying, "I understand." He ended the call.

Even if there were people in the clan that were still alive, it definitely wouldn’t be much. He could still remember the war and conspiracy that had wiped them all off the face of the earth.

The Yalk Clan were a special type of wolf. They weren’t born with wolves and had no mates, but they were born with gifts, powers that even a werewolf who had a mate and wolf would feel envious.

Just like how the wolves have an Alpha to lead them, the Yalk clan had their own leader, known as the Cadian.

A Cadian is recognized at birth by the different color of his eyes. One blue and the other red, and as the Cadian grows, the elderly members of the Yalk clan pass on their powers to him, making him stronger and capable of protecting them from the oppression of the wolves.

Unfortunately, everything went downhill when the last Cadian grew hungry for more power and ended up killing an Alpha on a full moon, bathing with his blood.

And with the help of a witch, he possessed all the qualities of an Alpha werewolf; no, he was even stronger than an Alpha. He became a madman, and in one night, he killed five Alphas, bathing with their blood, becoming a beast that could neither be tamed nor killed.

A beast that killed his Aitana right in front of him.

Tristan froze as a thought came to him.

Could it be whoever is controlling the Ferals wants to create another beast like the last Cadian?

Tristan sighed and whispered, "What are you thinking, Tristan? That can’t be possible."

Such a monster cannot be recreated because after the death of the last Cadian, no member of the Yalk clan has been born with powers.

.....

Back at Kirha Villa, Aria had just finished preparing dinner and was about to call Tristan when her phone rang.

She immediately answered the call when she saw that it was him calling herinstead.

"Are you at home?" Tristan’s voice sounded over the phone.

Aria glanced at the clock on the wall and saw that it was going to 9 pm. "I’m sure you already know the answer. Where are you?"

"Somewhere."

"Somewhere?" Aria asked with a frown. "Don’t you need to come home before you go blind again?"

Tristan chuckled and said, "I think you are forgetting that I am used to the darkness."

Aria’s heart ached when she heard that. She cleared her throat and said, "I made dinner, and I also need to ask you something."

"You cooked?"

"Yes. So when are you coming home?" Aria asked, and when she heard nothing on the other side, she was about to repeat her question when the doorbell rang.

Aria opened the door to see Tristan looking at her with a smile as he whispered, "I’m home."

Home. For the first time in his life, he finally has a home.

In his first life, he and Aitana were not able to have a home; their time together was too short-lived for them to have even gotten one, but now they both have one.

No, perhaps he did have a home in his first life. He had her, and his home will always be her.

"Did you miss me?" Tristan asked with a smile as he ended the call.

"I....." Aria’s lips were sealed with his, pulling her into a passionate kiss.

Tristan broke their kiss for her to breathe and said, "I did miss you."

Even though her heart was racing at his words and actions, Lia’s words kept ringing in her ears, and she found herself stepping away from him.

Tristan frowned and asked, "Is everything alright? Is Hailey okay?"

"Hailey is fine; in fact, she is getting married." Aria said with a fake chuckle.

"Then what’s wrong?"

Aria stared at Tristan silently, struggling on if she should tell him or not. Lia had told her not to say a word to him, but then again, why should she listen to a girl who didn’t hesitate to tell her that she had once slept with her husband?

"Your friend came here," Aria said.

"Cole?"

"No, the female one. Lia"

"Are you sure? Lia doesn’t know where I live."

Aria scoffed and said, "The person who decorated your house suddenly doesn’t know where you live?"

"What did she tell you?"

"Everything, including the part of warming your bed for you."

"Aria. Lia means nothing to me, and the only time we slept together was when I was drunk, and I don’t even remember it happening. And Cole was the one who decorated my house for me, not her." Tristan said, and when Aria said nothing, he stepped forward only to have her step backward.

"Do you believe her more than me?"

"It’s not that, Tristan."

"Then what is it?"

"It’s Eva. A girl everyone says is beautiful and kind, whose eyes were filled with light, but that light disappeared after she met you."

"Who told you that?"

Aria ignored his question and asked, "If you didn’t love her, then why didn’t you reject her?"

"I asked if you believed that I didn’t kill her, and you told me you believed me." Tristan calmly said.

"I do."

"You don’t."

"I DO!" Aria stated firmly. She let out a sigh and took a step closer to him. "I want to know what happened to Eva. I have heard everyone’s version, painting you to be the monster who led his mate to his death, but I have never heard your version. Let me hear it tonight."

"The truth is they aren’t that wrong, Aria. Perhaps if I had shown her love and affection, then she would still be alive today. Eva hated rejections, and I rejected her every time she would make advances on me."

"Why? Didn’t you both share a bond?"

"We did, but..." My bond to you was stronger. Those were the words he wanted to say but couldn’t. Even though he was mated to Eva, he didn’t see himself marking another woman.

"But?" Aria asked, insisting he continue.

Tristan sighed and said, "Eva was a spy for her father. And that is not all; she wasn’t an angel as everyone has been describing her. Whenever she got angry due to my rejections, she would take it out on her Omega servant. Their sweet Eva, who didn’t know how to manage her anger, beat the young girl to death."

"What?"

Tristan’s voice became cold as he said, "You want to know the truth? Then the truth is this: Eva didn’t kill herself. The mother of the girl whom she had beaten to death killed her, and the only way for me to save that woman was to pass on Eva’s death as suicide."
