Mage And Wolf
Chapter 308

Chapter 308: Chapter 308

Scattering the intelligent races across two planets is easier said than done. We decide to start with the Dragons and beasts on the second world. Both groups are largely self sufficient even as newborns, though we will be creating slightly more developed bodies for many of them.

Bringing them back doesn’t matter if they just starve to death after all.

All of us have mastered that process now, and the actual creation goes quite smoothly, until we’ve got tens of thousands of bodies ready to be inhabited. I can’t guarantee the souls will stick to the same species every time, that’s all part of our research, but we tried to get the ratio correct.

I haven’t seen a great number of Dragons or Dragonkin die, so they’re are thousands of beasts to every Dragon, which I’m hoping is a reasonable ratio. Dragons are large, powerful and hungry creatures after all.

Touching the undead bodies creates a pull at the souls stored within the underworld dimension I brought with me. After a few seconds of contact, a soul that is ready to reincarnate will be pulled from the afterlife and into the new body.

First come the herbivores, as we have a planet full of things for them to eat. Then the carnivores and omnivores and finally the Dragons. At Lelou’s insistence, they’ve all been hatched from eggs in various regions of the world.

Hui’Jin has formed a unique bond with the Dragons and beasts here, as well as the planet. They flock to where she is, and in turn, she understands and solves their concerns. Even those who are naturally predator and prey don’t fight around her.

The great revelation she comprehended within the Creation Sphere was one of balance, and how lives are interconnected. It’s a trait more common with nature gods, and she’s falling into that role naturally as the planet becomes populated.

Lelou has taken up her old position as caretaker, teaching the children of every intelligent species, with the aid of dozens of magical constructs, helping a generation with no elders understand the essentials of life, cultivation and civilization.

Lala is split between the final stages of her cultivation and checking in the new births of the animals we created, the random creatures of the world are her specialty of sorts, as fertility is the aspect her cultivation had been leading her to.

Karl and Song are the busiest of all of us though. While I populate one world, they’re creating a network of orphanage shrines, staffed by construct replicas of us, to raise the species on the first world, the species with long childhood periods who can’t raise themselves. Even if we put them in larger bodies, their minds would need time. So, it’s better to just start them as children.

To be a True Pantheon, you need worshippers. They bolster your power and tie you to a realm for eternity. That’s what they’re preparing for, an educational program that will teach every trade, essential skill and a new ideology of coexistence, with us as their divine figures.

It feels a bit dishonest, but it’s likely the only way out of here. Without that link, we’ll be left behind when we try to shift the new Realm out into the Mortal Planes. But beyond the personal concern, a Mortal Realm needs it for balance.

Lala seems to find it hilarious that they’re making shrines to us. For once again, the Bunny will be a symbol of life and fertility.

It would be nice if time had meaning here, it’s hard to keep track of how long things take, but it’s been at least one generation of the beasts before the Dragons are all born and taught enough by Lelou and Song to be set loose in the world.

We all watch then for a while, making sure we haven’t made mistakes or created an imbalance, but it’s not long before the planet stabilizes and the cultivation of the strongest among them reaches Core Formation.

Competition keeps the numbers in check, and the cycle between life and death is working as intended, with the offspring of the Beastkin and Dragons being born healthy with intact souls.

Unexpectedly, they’re not all recycled souls. When one is ready to be reborn it is, when there isn’t a soul that’s fully prepared, a new soul forms for the infant before it’s born.

Understanding that it must happen for population to grow and actually seeing it in action were very different things though. Even the knowledgeable Song is impressed by the process.

With that new knowledge, we’re ready to test the Magical World in practice. This world will never be able to cultivate, but by integrating mana into their bodies, some species can still become very strong. No species here is to be shown favoritism, though there were talks of excluding the Titan Clan from the process.

While the others add new details, like predators, more mammals and such to the world, I begin working on giving souls to the bodies they’ve created.

This time around is much easier than the first, and quicker. After all, I’ve had practice. But instead of leaving them to run loose in the wild as we did for the beasts, I’m placing them with caretakers inside the shrines that Karl and Song built so they can be educated and indoctrinated. The Golems are all fully programed to raise them with the knowledge they’ll need to survive, so I scatter the species at random sound the world.

They tend to come out in clusters, as the deaths I witnessed were often in waves, but there is some mixing. I’m careful not to leave any solo reincarnations though, everyone is around at least a few more of their own species for the sake of reproduction.

I’m a bit concerned about interbreeding between species, I know how humans are, so when I don’t place them with only other humans, I’m sure to put them with a majority of another single species.

At least that way we’ll have regions of wolf kin, half Elves and half giants instead of a few random ones thrown in to small populations or places they’ll likely be discriminated against.

With both planets now fully populated, all that we have to do is wait and watch. The shrines have educational materials to teach everyone how to use magic, but none of us actually know how many will be able to do it on their own under the Golems tutelage, without generations before them to teach them the species specific tricks that can’t be explained by a textbook.

It’s only a matter of time though. Soon, a second generation will be born, the various races will start building villages and cities and we can study their development and make adjustments if necessary to help this realm stabilize.
