"I will start with the obvious question first. How did you come to be circulating such a unique form of internal energy?" Prince Ivan asks once we’re all seated.

"I’m not entirely sure, so if you don’t mind, I’ll give you a bit of back story?" he nods agreement and I consider what information might be relevant.

"I was born half human, half Lycan in a world without cultivators. The Black Dragon chose me when the portals first opened, so I’ve been cultivating Death Energy and converting it to a Lycans internal energy since Foundation Realm. Nothing unusual happened from then until Core Formation, so we can skip all that for now. That’s when I was caught up in a Divine Tribulation while helping a fellow Sect member repair their damaged cultivation." This news greatly startles everyone in the room, almost making the misshapen little butler drop the tray of snacks.

"You took a hit from Divine Tribulation while mortal and lived?" Steve asks impressed.

"Not directly, it arced to me multiple times though. I’ve got exceptional healing, even for a Lycan, which is all that kept me alive. That’s when my body started gathering Divine Energy. My cultivation speed and senses got a nice boost, but nothing too strange happened until I left the Mortal Planes to visit the Nephilim in the Divine Planes." The look on Prince Ivan’s face is becoming more amusing with every word. My story definitely isn’t going in the direction he thought it was going to.

"Oh, I heard this part already. This is the fun part." Steve says, settling into a side couch.

"Well, I was down in the arenas when the Titans attacked the city. The flood of Death Energy was pretty extreme and it forced me to break through multiple ranks of Core Formation. When everything settled out, my skin had changed to this vampire pale white and my eyes were Celestial black." I finish the short version of the story but the look on his face says Steve thinks the next bit is still important.

"You’re not going to mention the part where you can manipulate internal energy pathways? Or absorb Shadow Grenades? I would think those were important parts too." Steve says when he realizes I’m done talking.

"I was already like this by then. Though the feeling of my energy did change again once I reached Immortality while you guys were playing capture the flag, so maybe it is relevant." I shrug.

Prince Ivan looks lost at this point. "What do you mean manipulate energy pathways, and what is a shadow grenade?" he finally asks.

"A Shadow Grenade is a magical device that creates a field of Death Energy to trap a target. The Celestials like to use them on the children of the Moon Goddess when they’re playing together. Manipulating energy pathways is self explanatory, if I can see your cultivation path, or more correctly the energy circulating through your body, with a little effort I can alter it." I explain but he still looks lost.

"Here, the butler has a partially closed accupoint in his shoulder. The circulation of his cultivation doesn’t flow past it properly. If I just give things a tweak, the point opens again and the flow smooths out. See? Or maybe you don’t."

"I can see, I’m just having trouble believing. That shouldn’t be possible. Logic says you can’t just change someone else’s cultivation that way." Prince Ivan says while the misshapen little Demon I modified dances around in Joy.

"Is it that much different than shattering their core? A bit of Death Energy does it easily." Everyone in the room winces at that. Forgot that’s a Forbidden technique.

"Can you do it to anyone?" Steve asks.

"I don’t know, I’ve only ever tried it on Ahra, who is a mortal half giant and the butler here. It’s not something that comes up often, as I’m not a doctor."

"Sorry to interrupt Your Highness Ivan, there’s a messenger from your father and they say it’s urgent." comes a soft voice from the door, before a Bunny girl in royal livery enters. She smells funny though, like death and not like Bunny. I think someone turned her into a vampire. That’s just cruel, they smell so good alive.

She looks positively terrified once she realizes who is in the room with the prince. Not only are Wolves predators to bunnies, but Lycans are natural enemies of Vampires and we’re both stronger than she is. It’s like a double dose of bad news and she wants nothing more than to not be here.

It doesn’t help that Steve is staring at her like that. I don’t think the Divine Plane he comes from has her species, so he might not have seen one before.

"Steve, relax. She thinks you’re going to eat her in the not good way." I joke to break the tension and Ivan chuckles while Steve laughs. The messenger seems to have not been listening, perhaps too frightened for thought.

"Send them in. Sorry about this, but if the King sent me a messenger here it must be important." Prince Ivan says, snapping the Bunny out of her stupor.

She flees at full speed and moments later a human looking Demon enters with a deep bow and holds out a letter to the Prince. He carefully opens it, as if he’s not looking forward to the contents, but reads it through carefully, then again.

"The final piece of the Divine Relic has been found. The King of Sodom would like to meet with your party to discuss the handover. Honestly, I think he’s mostly after a reward for being the first to get his hands on it." Prince Ivan says.

"That’s fine, we prepared gifts from the Divine Plane for those who help us out. Hopefully they’re suitable for your use in a Demon World, but I’m certain we can come up with something."

"My Constitution is not well suited to that Plane. Only demons and Dark Energy cultivators fare well in such places." Steve reminds me, then passes over a small storage ring full of toys and trinkets from the Divine Plane. The bribes to buy the relic piece we need.

"You might have to come visit my father’s Kingdom alone." Prince Ivan frowns, making me frown along with him.

"Hopefully we can resolve the task at hand in a timely manner, I’ve been away from home and my mate for entirely too long. I’m ready whenever you are." I say, standing and motioning for Steve to inform John and the others of what is happening.
