Mage And Wolf -
Chapter 214
Chapter 214: Chapter 214
We both launch at each other with all our might, trying to catch the other off guard. Energy coated Claws meet first in a shower of sparks as our energies clash, my counter attack bringing his claws to a halt.
The Alpha has a distinct advantage in actual combat experience and cultivation base, but I’m more agile, and the raw power I can exert is enough he can’t simply overpower me. We trade a Flurry of strikes before breaking apart, smiling in excitement at having found a good fight.
I go on the offensive, burning death energy to increase my speed, letting me put the Alpha on the back foot and forcing him to retreat a few steps before he can recover.
"Not bad for a tiny thing." He growls before nearly kicking my legs out from under me. Now I’m the one retreating and he’s got no intention of letting up on the pressure.
The unique energy signature and the Death Energy in use have attracted the Seraphim and the Demons, both of whom are usually indifferent to the ever present fights involving Lycans and Werewolves. The Seraphim look somewhat disgusted, but that’s their expected reaction to anyone who uses Death Energy. The few Divine Realm Demons present look intrigued, clearly using sensory techniques to determine what I am and analyze my unique energy signature, created by the combination of Elder Song’s Tribulation Lightning and advancing to Immortality in a Divine Plane with a huge abundance of both divine and death energy present.
I land a solid hit on the Alpha, spinning him sideways, but it was a trap, he’s grabbed hold of my leg and slams me hard into the ground before stepping back. I raise my hands in surrender, recognizing his win.
"Good fight Alpha." I grin as I pant for breath.
"Likewise. If that’s the sort of fight a half breed can put up, I will admit you were truthful about your little Succubus friend being a worthy chosen mate for the next Beta of my pack to have pups with." The two new mates look ecstatic, that’s the best result they could have hoped for. Getting the others to accept a Demon, especially a Succubus into the pack might be a whole other problem, but she’s a really sweet, if perverted, person. They should be able to work it out.
The handful of Seraphim that came to watch leave with their usual angry demeanor, but the demons are coming over to say hello. There’s two different sorts present, human looking ones with a Demonic Aura, fully evolved Demonic cultivators by my guess. Humans and demihumans who followed a dark path to Immortality and changed their bodies in the process. Then there’s the clearly inhuman ones, looking at me with hundreds of imminent questions evident in their gazes.
As far as I know, these are the indigenous populations of the hell dimensions, Immortal planes flooded with a variety of dark energies instead of the more common mortal energy. To go to one is suicide for most humans, the very nature of the world will kill them. But for someone like me, or the Black Dragons, it’s a cultivation paradise even more efficient than the Divine Planes at my level of cultivation.
"Greetings Young Miss, I am Prince Ivan of Sodom. I would hope I might have a few moments of your time?" hey he knows my name. No wait, it’s literally written on my choker.
"Greetings Prince Ivan. I’m sure I can find time for Royalty. What might the topic of conversation be today?" I ask with a polite nod.
"We were greatly interested in the particular energy signature of yours. It feels like a perfect blend of Lycan and the Demon Planes Unholy energy, but you’re clearly cultivating Death Energy, in fact you’re practically drowning in it. I’ve been alive nearly three thousand years and I have never seen anything like it. A death Cultivator should be circulating Death Energy." Prince Ivan explains.
"I’m not sure how much I can tell you about that. I can explain the events that brought me to this point, but some parts of it, like my actual cultivation method are secrets of the Black Dragon."
"You’re an acolyte of the Death God? How unusual. The Black Dragon gets along well with the Moon Goddess and doesn’t go out of her way to steal the Moon Goddess children, I’ve rarely seen a Lycan Black Priestess. This could be long conversation, do you have time to sit, Priestess?"
I look over at Beta John and he nods, we’ve learned most of what we came for, and I’ve caused enough excitement for one day, so he’s not upset about me wandering away for a while. He does send Steve with me though, so he can easily contact us, as well as being a guard if Prince Ivan has bad intentions.
The Royal camping setup looks to be a Yurt style tent surrounded by smaller tents in a defensive formation. Looking through the open flaps they’re all larger on the inside, so he must have a fairly significant retinue with him.
The shape of the demons helping inside the royal tent is giving me a headache the moment we walk in. It’s like they took a polymorphism pill but couldn’t decide what species they wanted, so they ended up as a mix of Dozen different ones. Prince Ivan and Steve don’t seem surprised though, so that must be normal.
Until I realize both are talking at points well over the creatures heads. It seems they aren’t seeing the same version of these demons that I am. A young butler who has a half rat and half Lizard face with mismatched size arms grins at me and motions for silence when he catches me looking at him. Now I really want to know what everyone else sees.
I also wonder if this is a side effect of my station, my cultivation, or whatever happened during the advancement that changed my eyes to these creepy black orbs.
They lead us all to a sitting room and bring in trays full of snacks and drinks, letting us get comfortable before the serious part of the talks begins.
