Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband -
Chapter 93
Chapter 93: Chapter 93
If this was the same Sebastian who ruined her life, she wouldn’t even hesitate to toss him into the female wolves’ den.
But this Sebastian was still innocent. He hadn’t done anything bad to her. In fact, it seemed that he was seriously trying his best to prove his worth to her.
Winter might be vengeful to her enemies, but she wasn’t unreasonable. This Sebastian didn’t seem to follow any of his mother’s instructions.
’I don’t think it’s fair for him if I trapped him with these women,’ Winter thought. ’I just want a divorce and live my life in peace without any drama surrounding him.’
Thus, Winter smiled at Patricia and replied, "I won’t toss him to these female wolves in here. I’m talking specifically about you. I just thought that you and Sebastian would look good together."
"You say it as if you want to divorce him tomorrow," Patricia said half-jokingly.
"If I can, I would," Winter replied, and the smile on Patricia’s face disappeared. "We got married in haste as a desperate measure to maintain the company’s stability, but that doesn’t mean I love him."
"Even if he loves you dearly?"
That question made Winter chuckle. Patricia knew nothing about what Sebastian did in her previous life, so it was normal for her to assume that he was a good man.
However, for Winter, marrying Sebastian was the biggest, most foolish mistake she ever made.
"I prefer to live alone after Aiden’s death if you catch my drift."
’So, she hasn’t moved on yet from Aiden’s death, if ever...’ Patricia thought. Just as she suspected, Winter wouldn’t be able to move on because they were a perfect couple.
Patricia aspired to be just like them, finding the right man and then living a good life together.
"So, interested in my husband?"
Patricia sighed, "He’s handsome, and I’m sure you can offer him to someone else and they would take it. But not me. I don’t want to ruin his happiness by taking him from your side."
"Hm, one tip from me, I don’t think you should be offering him to anyone. You might change your mind in the future, and it would be too late for you to regret," Patricia advised. "Oh, the event will start soon. I’m going to my seat first. Have a good night, Winter."
"You too, Patricia."
Winter watched as Patricia left.
Her lips thinned as she wanted to deny Patricia’s comment just now.
’They will never understand unless they experience my pain...’
Winter talked with a few more people in the venue but didn’t offer Sebastian as she did to Patricia. Just as Patricia said, she wanted to give Sebastian a second chance because he wasn’t evil.
Sebastian and Lucien finally returned to her after roughly thirty minutes. Winter sensed the tense air around them as if they just fought while she wasn’t around.
She observed Sebastian and Lucien’s faces and found no bruises whatsoever.
’Hmm, I guess they just had a long business discussion, that’s why they are in a bad mood after it’s done,’ Winter assumed. ’Based on their expressions, I doubt they have come to an agreement. I guess this is a failure then.’
Winter wasn’t disappointed that Sebastian couldn’t strike a deal with Lucien. As long as Sebastian and Lucien were well acquainted, then a project would eventually come.
’Well, I guess I have to lower my expectations now. I don’t know what went wrong between them, but I don’t think we can work with Lucien anymore,’ Winter thought.
Sebastian and Lucien stood in front of Winter, they tried to show a perfunctory smile, but it was so forced that Winter found them creepy.
"So, how did it go? All is well?" Winter asked even though she already knew the answer. A bit of formality wouldn’t hurt, right?
"It’s... going well," Sebastian replied. "We’ve struck a deal."
"Is it really? You two don’t look happy for two businessmen who just struck a deal. I mean, you don’t need to rush this, Sebastian," Winter said. "And you too, Lucien. I appreciate your presence already. If you think any of my husband’s proposals are not interesting, then it is alright to decline."
Sebastian tried to fix his expression, but he couldn’t hide his bad mood.
This bastard, Lucien LeBlanc kept on insisting on being allowed to visit the Goldmine Realty office as often as possible to meet with Winter, but of course, Sebastian wouldn’t allow that.
They had a long argument that almost ended up in a fistfight. But in the end, they made peace by allowing Lucien to meet Winter during meetings since they would be working together to build a luxurious resort in Florida.
Meanwhile, Lucien was also pissed off by this bastard who kept claiming that Winter was his wife and that he wouldn’t allow Lucien to get too close to her.
Lucien told Sebastian many times that he was just a replacement, and Winter would eventually toss him out once she found him redundant. Sebastian was being possessive for no reason.
He even went as far as offering Sebastian a job in his company if he would divorce Winter instead.
Since none was willing to give up, they finally agreed to a truce. They would work together as long as it would make Winter happy.
As greedy as Lucien could be, he would never put Winter in danger, let her grieve for too long, or allow her to get stuck in a difficult situation.
Lucien would help her company as long as she requested.
But before he agreed to Sebastian’s proposal, he had a question for Winter.
"I won’t mind hiring Goldmine Realty as the contractor to build my resort in Florida. In fact, I’d be more than willing to do so, but I need to clarify something with you first, Winter," Lucien paused for a moment before continuing. "Is this your idea?"
"My... idea?"
"The whole trying to meet me because you want to set up a conversation between Sebastian and me. Is this your idea?"
