Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband -
Chapter 61
Chapter 61: Chapter 61
"Oh dear, that’s unfortunate. I’m sorry for what my son did. Why don’t you take a moment to rest in my car first? It might spare us some unwanted attention. You can tell me what happened," Camilla offered sympathetically.
Cindy nodded without hesitation, thinking she could get the empathy and support from her future mother-in-law.
She followed Camilla to the expensive car that she had, a silver Aston Martin that was probably worth more than a hundred thousand dollars. Cindy was astonished when she saw the car and complimented immediately, "Ma’am, your car looks so expensive."
"Thank you. It was a gift from Sebastian for my birthday. It’s an Aston Martin DB11, worth roughly two hundred fifty thousand dollars when he first purchased it."
"T-that much?!" Cindy gawked. "He gave you this expensive car for your birthday?"
"Yes. He has a lot of money, so he spoils his mother a lot," Camilla said, though it wasn’t the complete story.
The truth was... Sebastian had gifted her a less expensive Porsche car worth roughly a hundred thousand dollars.
But she was not going to take that disrespect. He might have been the CEO of a branch company since he was twenty-five years old, meaning he earned a lot, but not a crazy amount just yet.
But Camilla hated how her son gifted her a car that wasn’t as expensive as she expected for her birthday. So she threatened to disown him if he didn’t give her something better.
Sebastian might not be as obedient as when he was young.
Back then, Camilla could just beat him to a pulp, and Sebastian wouldn’t dare raise his head. He’d just whimper and cry, begging for her not to hurt him anymore.
But now that he was an independent adult, it was getting harder to control him.
Fortunately, he still had that attachment to her as his only parent, so Camilla could easily threaten to disown him, and Sebastian would finally listen to her demands.
Thus, Sebastian was forced to dig into his savings to buy her this car, which was worth twice the amount.
Camilla knew that Sebastian grumbled when he had to empty his savings, she believed it was fair compensation for raising him for more than twelve years until he graduated high school and got a scholarship to Harvard.
’Thankfully, I have taught him many lessons since he was young. I beat him up every day so he would be a smart and capable man. See how successful I am in raising him,’ Camilla boasted in her heart. ’Besides, I’ve sacrificed way more money than just a mere two hundred fifty thousand dollars on him growing up. He should’ve paid back everything with interest.’
She unlocked the car and said, "Come in, Cindy. We can talk inside."
Cindy happily entered the expensive car. She couldn’t help but get awed by the interior and everything else because it was so luxurious.
It was quite strange that a woman in her fifties would like to drive a car like this, but if Cindy was given the chance, she’d be more than willing.
She had to learn how to drive first, though...
Camilla couldn’t help but feel disdain at how this woman looked so tacky and wasn’t the type who could hide her feelings. She needed a woman smarter than Cindy if she wanted to remove Winter from Sebastian’s life immediately.
’But I can use this one to test the water. I’ll find a better woman later,’ Camilla thought. "So, Cindy, why don’t you tell me what happened in Sebastian’s office? My son is usually kind to his employees, but maybe you upset him somehow."
"I-I didn’t upset him at all. He wasn’t upset before that bitch—I-I mean, my sister, Winter, barged in and ruined everything," Cindy said. "I just had a normal conversation with Sebastian, and he seemed fine. But Winter comes in and starts making me look bad in front of him. I tried to defend myself, but Sebastian had been influenced by Winter and yelled at me..."
"Is that so?" Camilla asked, but she didn’t believe what this woman was saying.
Sebastian might be easy to influence, but he wasn’t dumb enough to get swayed by Winter.
Camilla believed that Sebastian was faking it to ensure that Winter believed he was a loyal husband, so he had to sacrifice this stupid skank.
"Yes! Please believe me, Ma’am. I did nothing wrong. I just want to work honestly as Sebastian’s secretary. But Winter is poisoning his mind!" Cindy insisted.
"Isn’t Winter your sister? I didn’t know your relationship was this bad with her," Camilla asked, continuing to fish for more information about these sisters. It would be better if she could find any piece of information she could use against Winter in the future.
Cindy continued wiping her tears with the handkerchief and said, "I love my sister, I really do. I admire her growing up. But now, I’m not even sure. I finally realized she’s a greedy woman who will do everything to keep Sebastian by her side! She’s not the same sister I grew up with!"
"That’s because she’s finally showing her true self," Camilla sighed. "Honestly, I’ve been opposing the marriage between Sebastian and Winter the whole time. Sebastian was also hesitating at first, but Winter was so desperate to marry him that she pressured him with her influence. She used Aiden’s wealth for no good."
As if she had gotten the green light, Cindy began to rant about Winter, "Oh my god, as I expected, she must’ve been blinded by Aiden’s wealth. I bet she’s secretly overjoyed now that Aiden is dead!"
Camilla was quite entertained by Cindy’s antics because this woman was like an echo chamber that would say yes to anything she said.
Camilla disliked disobedience the most, so this stupid woman earned her interest... for now.
"Do you know that Aiden died in a horrific car crash? I’ve heard from many sources that Winter might’ve been the one who orchestrated Aiden’s death so she could find a younger husband while having all of Aiden’s wealth," Camilla accused. "She’s truly a venomous woman.’
