Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband -
Chapter 35
Chapter 35: Chapter 35
Arthur parked the car in front of the lobby, where Winter saw Cindy nervously standing. She wore a formal white shirt, a knee-length black skirt, and flat shoes.
Clutching a document, Cindy looked even more nervous as she checked her watch.
Winter smiled. It was so cute to see her sister so nervous about her first job.
It reminded Winter of her younger days when she finished university and worked as an accountant for a construction company for years, eventually getting promoted to accounting manager at the age of twenty-nine.
She met with Aiden when he acquired the construction company to expand his business. As the accounting manager, she was tasked with working closely with Aiden to monitor the growth of the dying company.
They grew closer as they worked together, and it was clear that Aiden had been interested in her since their first meeting. Soon, they were dating and eventually got married.
’Marrying you is like a fairytale, and living with you is a dream come true, Aiden Kirk,’ Winter thought, smiling as she recalled her sweet moments with Aiden.
’Well, I guess it’s time for Cindy to start her career and maybe find a good man to marry eventually,’ Winter thought before exiting the car.
"Sis!" Cindy rushed towards her sister like a duckling to its Mama Duck. "Oh my god, I was so scared you wouldn’t come. I’ve been waiting for an hour."
"An hour?" Winter checked her watch and said, "I don’t think I’m late. Why did you come so early?"
"Obviously, because I’m scared I’ll be late!" Cindy pouted. "Gosh, this is my first time applying for a proper office job, and I’m already in the lobby of a multi-million dollar company. I’m so nervous."
"No need to panic. Your sister owns this company, but that doesn’t mean I’ll give it to you easily. You still need to go through interviews," Winter said. "So, get ready, okay?"
"Y—yes!"
They walked to the lobby and met the receptionist Winter had encountered yesterday.
The receptionist’s demeanor changed instantly upon seeing Winter, becoming meeker and sweeter, "Good morning, Madam Winter. Do you want to meet with Mr. Saenz?"
"No, I have an appointment with Nova Wilson, the head of the HR department. You can call her if you need to," Winter said.
"N—No need, Madam. I’ll escort you to the HR department floor!" the receptionist offered.
"No need, I know where it is. Just give me an access card," Winter demanded. The receptionist obediently handed it to her.
As Winter and Cindy walked away, the receptionist watched them from behind. She then secretly took a picture and sent it to Camilla as part of her job.
Not long after she sent the picture, Camilla called her.
—
"Who is that red-haired woman next to her?" Camilla asked.
"I—I’m not sure, Madam. But she’s carrying a document, and they’re heading to the HR Department, so Madam Winter is probably giving her a job."
"Then she’s definitely not just a regular girl," Camilla murmured. She had a faint suspicion, but she needed to confirm it later. "Do they look alike?"
"No, Madam. Not at all."
"I see. Well, keep me updated if anything happens."
Beep.

Winter and Cindy walked to the head of the HR department’s office and stopped in front of the door.
"Remember, stay calm and answer all the questions professionally," Winter advised.
"I thought you’d tell me to give honest answers."
"Well, this is an office, not a confession box. You just need to make sure that your qualifications would be interesting for the interviewer to consider," Winter said, giving her sister a small piece of advice before opening the door.
"Oh, Winter!" Nova, the head of the HR department, rose from her seat and walked toward Winter. She hugged her and said, "I thought you would never come to the office anymore."
Winter smiled at Nova. They had been friends since Winter married Aiden. Because Winter visited the office almost every day while Aiden was alive, she befriended many of those who held high positions within the company.
"I’ll be in the office during work days now."
"To support your new husband? I swear Mr. Saenz is the luckiest man on earth!" Nova said excitedly, but Winter only gave her an insincere, perfunctory smile. "Well, why don’t we start with the short interview?"
Winter and Cindy faced Nova from the other side of the office desk.
Nova focused on Cindy and asked Winter, "Is this the sister you’ve been talking about?"
"Yes, her name is Cindy, and she needs a job."
"What’s her degree?" Nova asked.
"Communication, Ma’am," Cindy replied.
"Hmm, the marketing department doesn’t need more people, and I don’t want to give you an easy job like a receptionist," Nova commented. "Your sister told me that you need this job before going for postgraduate studies."
"Y—Yes, Ma’am. I need job experience before pursuing my master’s degree. I need it to secure job later."
"Hm, I don’t think you need a real job if you’re only doing this temporarily. Do you mind working as a paid intern instead?" Nova offered.
"I don’t mind at all, Ma’am!"
"Wait, I want you to give her a proper job. I don’t think an internship is good enough for her," Winter insisted.
"Winter, I don’t mind promoting her later. But we don’t know whether she’ll stay in this office long term," Nova said. "Adapting to a new office takes time, and an internship will help her decide if she wants to stay and get a full-time job or leave for her postgraduate studies."
What Nova said made sense, but Winter had promised to get Cindy a full-time job.
"Sis, it’s fine. I think I prefer to be an intern first, so it won’t be too sudden if I resign for my master’s degree," Cindy said.
Winter briefly considered it before nodding, "Alright, I will trust your judgment, Nova. You can interview her and decide the best intern position for her. I’ll be waiting in the CEO’s office."
