Chapter 32: Chapter 32

’Huh, strange. I remember he never drank any coffee I made, including Liberia coffee...’ Winter thought. ’Or maybe he liked it but hated me, so he refused to eat or drink anything I made.’

Winter had a flashback to many cruel moments when she tried to win him over with her homemade foods.

Winter was really good at cooking since her mother taught her, and she believed the way to a man’s heart was through his stomach.

But Sebastian refused to eat anything she made, even going so far as to tell her to stop cooking because the scent of food in the morning made him nauseous.

Sebastian would usually take an apple from the fridge for breakfast, or make his own coffee or tea before going to work.

He never paid her attention, even if Winter prepared a big breakfast at dawn.

’Oh well, that’s probably the case,’ Winter shrugged. She was used to the grim realization that her second husband unloved her, so being treated like shit didn’t shock her anymore.

But she also wanted a little payback for what Sebastian had put her through.

"Well, I have no complaints since you know my favorite. Make my order, and I want it done before I finish taking a shower. Got it, husband?" Winter winked sweetly at Sebastian, and he almost had a heart attack.

He was stupefied because Winter looked so damn cute when she called him ’husband’ and winked!

"Okay! I will make it for you! Go and have a shower first. It’ll be done before that!" Sebastian said excitedly, as if he just gotten a huge energy boost.

Winter saw that Sebastian was even busier than before, and her gaze turned cold again.

’You really think you can fool me again, Sebastian Saenz? You can’t hide your contempt for me, and I’m not going to fall for it a second time.’

Winter turned around and returned to her bedroom. She took a shower and prepared herself for the day.

Sitting in front of the makeup mirror, she wore a sapphire necklace and earrings to complete her look; those were the only non-black items she had on her body right now.

She wore another black dress to show to the world that she was still mourning Aiden’s death and would forever mourn for him.

Because in her heart, Aiden was her true love.

The only man who treated her right.

The man who completely owned her heart.

But on top of that, she was also mourning the death of her unborn son.

Winter’s eyes began to pool with tears whenever she remembered about the son in her belly in her past life.

She had miscarried twice while being married to Aiden. But her miscarriages happened very early in her pregnancies. Thus, while she was sad about losing her fetus, she could still continue her life with the support of her loving husband.

But her baby with Sebastian was different.

The doctor said that her baby with Sebastian was healthy, and thinking that she could finally give birth to her child was an idea that kept Winter sane during her depressing days of being intimidated by Camilla and Sebastian.

"But you really have to ruin everything, Sebastian," Winter murmured. She allowed her tears to fall, knowing that suppressing her sadness would only make her go insane. "I don’t ask for anything from you, but you took everything from me instead. So I have to die with our baby to protect him from getting hurt in the cruel world that you created for him."

Winter allowed herself to cry for a good five minutes before wiping her tears and ensuring no sadness was on her face.

She walked out of the bedroom with her elegant black dress. She took small steps, which made her walk slowly, but she carried the aura of a cold Madam from a rich family.

She walked past the kitchen and saw Sebastian putting the food on the dining table. He was sweating slightly, probably because he rushed to make the best breakfast for his wife.

"I see you’re done with the breakfast I ordered," Winter said calmly.

Sebastian lifted his head, and his good mood vanished into thin air when he saw Winter’s mourning dress.

Winter was so gorgeous; nobody could deny that. But that sad color ruined her beauty. That color had become an eyesore for him because Winter told him she’d wear black forever to mourn for Aiden.

He became sour,, jealous of that dead man, but he tried to hide it since Winter was kind enough to spare him a wink and even went as far as calling him "husband".

He pulled a chair for her and said, "Let’s eat together, wife. Your pancake is still warm, and your coffee is freshly brewed!"

Winter saw that Sebastian was far too excited for her liking.

He had never been this excited before, even when Winter tried her best to give her a delicious Sunday morning breakfast in bed!

’Does he expect me to get excited over pancakes and coffee? I made much more than this. I cooked for you every single day, but you never touched any of it,’ Winter thought. ’So I’m going to give you a taste of your medicine, Sebastian.’

"I’m not hungry," Winter said coldly.

The smile on Sebastian’s face faltered. "W—Why so sudden?"

"I just don’t feel hungry anymore," Winter said. "Especially looking at the food you make. It makes me retch."

What Winter said might have been cruel, but she was just parroting what Sebastian had said to her in their previous lives. He said it too many times that Winter had grown numb to it.

And now, she was eager to see what kind of expression Sebastian would make.

Sebastian had that lost expression on his face, as if what Winter said truly hurt him.

He still kept his smile and asked, "T—Then, do you want to eat something else for breakfast? I can make it for you."
