Loving The Temperamental Adonis
Chapter 107: I never asked you to leave

Chapter 107: I never asked you to leave

Due to the force of the slap, Mia fell backwards and landed on her rear end. Her vision momentarily blurred and she saw black dots, even her ears rang from the slap. Slowly, she lifted her hand up and touched her burning cheek.

"Did you think I would let you off after disrespecting me, little bitch?" Remarked Davina with a smug smile on her face as she looked down at Mia with her arms crossed against her chest. "You might have kissed my fiancee on a live event, but I won’t allow your disrespectful behavior of breaking my favorite glass off." She said. When in truth she had never even used or seen the wine glass Mia broke earlier before, she was just looking for an excuse to let her anger out on the girl.

Davina’s three other friends who were quietly watching the scene, finally interjected when they heard what their friend said about Mia kissing her fiancee.

"Oh my goodness, Davina. You shouldn’t allow such girls into your fiance’s house. Girls like these are nothing but gold diggers and I can tell this one here is no different." Said one of the women.

"Can’t you see the kind of dress she wore just to come and cook. It looks like she came prepared to seduce your man instead of cooking. Before I got married to Robert last year, I made sure to dismiss all of his female housekeepers from his residence and hired new older women. You can’t trust men with beautiful housekeepers, not to mention one who came prepared to steal another woman’s man." Remarked another one of her friends who looked to be in her early stage of pregnancy.

Mia couldn’t help the shame and humiliation that overwhelmed her at their words and scornful looks. She was ashamed because she had indeed dressed up to impress him without knowing that he was engaged. While her humiliation came from the fact that she had been stupid enough to stay and take all of their insult just so she could get to see his face one last time before she would leave; even after he had made a fool of her by making her believe that she meant something to him when in truth, he was only doing everything to use her as a pass time.

"If you are done sulking on the floor, get the heck out of my house and never show your face in front of my man or I again!" Davina yelled out furiously as she could no longer stand the sight of the girl in front of her anymore.

Hot tears swelled Mia’s eyes but she held them back by blinking repeatedly so she wouldn’t cry in front of these women, who were insulting her. Mia pushed herself up from the floor and was about to find her way out of the house. But when she grabbed her bag and headed towards the door, the front door suddenly opened.

Neil stormed into the house with a darkened expression. He was in a very terrible mood. But he stopped short when he saw the girl standing a few inches away from him, he hadn’t gotten over the shock of seeing her in his house when he sighted the suppressed tears in her eyes. His gray eyes narrowing as he saw the faint trace of a fingerprint on her face. Then in two long strides, he was standing before her. Fury flashed across his face, and he demanded, "Who the fuck did this to you?!"

He was in a very terrible mood because he had received some bad news today from the military, and he had intended to come here and rest before the storm would hit him tomorrow and wasn’t expecting to find anyone in his house. Seeing Davina’s car along with two other cars he didn’t recognize outside had done nothing to make his mood any better. He had stormed in to send whoever was inside his house out.

But he hadn’t expected to find this little kitten here as well. Though he’d given her the address, he never thought she would come here as it was far from where she lived. Furthermore, he’d only given the card to her so she would let him go yesterday, but here she was standing here with tear filled eyes and fingerprint marks on her cheek. Without even realizing it, his anger grew into a huge mountain as he saw the hand print on her face.

"Don’t make me repeat myself, Harrison. Start talking." He demanded with controlled fury with menace glowing in his eyes.

Mia clenched her fists and hesitated, aware of his explosive temper and scared that he might turn on her if she told him that his so called fiancee, Davina had slapped her for mistakenly dropping a glass. Since she was nothing but a pass time, he would surely side with his lover and even regard her to more humiliation. All she wanted at this moment was to go home.

"Nobody, just an accident." she replied, attempting to downplay the situation while avoiding to meet his eyes.

A humorless laugh escaped Neil’s lips, his gray eyes ablaze with anger. "Nobody? You think I’ll let someone get away with hurting you? Tell me, Harrison, or I swear I’ll make it my mission to punish every single person in this goddamn building."

Knowing he was not the kind to give empty threats, Mia opened her mouth and whispered, "It-it was your girlfriend..."

"My what?" Neil was momentarily taken aback before realization dawned on him. "You mean Davina." He muttered through clenched teeth as he felt another rush of fury consume him. Davina was one of the reasons he was in a bad mood at this point. Because of her, his uncle had called him over and even dared to threaten him with some nonsense of giving the evidence that had been hidden from the military about what happened two years ago.

’If you don’t stay away from that girl and marry Davina, Neil, I will forget that you are related to me and I will destroy your life to the extent you will regret ever going against my words. Because of you, we have lost a good opportunity to catch those people. I will not tolerate anything from you again. You have committed enough sins for a lifetime, and I want you to repent by getting married to the woman I chose for you, if not...watch me destroy you by giving the higher ups the evidence of all of your sinful crimes.’

Remembering those words, Neil’s hands balled up into fists. Without hesitation, he took Mia’s wrist and pulled her along with him towards the dinning room where he could hear the sound of loud laughter.

"DAVINA!!" He thundered ominously as he entered the space, causing the three other women to jump up to their feet by the dark voice.

When Davina turned around, she was taken aback to see Neil holding the girl she had just sent out while glaring down at her with flaring silver eyes that made her feel a shiver down her spine. She had known Neil for a long time and she knew how his anger was, at this moment, she could tell he was angry beyond words. If looks could kill, she would have fallen dead and burned to ashes.

"Ne... I mean Leo, you are back." She said sweetly but deep down she knew he was angry.

Neil looked around the room and saw the three other women standing beside Davina. Then he turned back to her, "Who gave you the fucking right to lay your filthy hand on her?!" He demanded coolly.

"I slapped her because she disrespected me." Said David defensively while glaring at Mia.

"Oh, I see. She disrespected you, isn’t it?" He drawled in dark amusement. "She disrespected you and you slapped her, then how about you disrespecting me by entering my house without asking for my permission? Since you have decided to give slaps as a punishment of disrespect, then I will give you that." Saying this, he turned his gaze towards Davina’s friend who was standing beside her. "You, yes you with the fringe."

"Y-yes?" The lady with the fringe looked nervous as she answered to the overbearing man, who she had never met until today. His eyes alone made her want to crawl away and hide in a far away place. Why was he glaring at her like that?

"I want you to slap Davina so hard in the face until your five fingerprints mark her cheek. And if you dare not do it right, trust me, you are not going to like the outcome of what will happen to you and your other friends." He threatened with a very calm voice that made Mia look up at him in shock disbelief.

The woman with the fringe looked from Neil to her friend. She saw the look in Davina’s eyes that seemed like she was confident that her friend would not follow his words. However, the young woman might not have known Neil before, she didn’t dare not to do as he said with that look in his eyes.

She moved to stand in front of Davina, and without giving Davina the chance to react, she raised her hand and landed a hard resounding slap on her cheek that made her own palm burn from the impact.

Davina’s head jerked to the side and she grabbed her cheek in her palm. She stayed like that for a moment before she turned to look at her friend as if she didn’t believe she’d just hit her.

When Neil saw the red mark on Davina’s cheek, he smirked in satisfaction and praised, "You did good. Now one by one, I want you all to leave my house." He ordered calmly while glaring back at Davina who glared back at him.

Davina clenched her fists and swallowed the lump of humiliation in her throat. She felt insulted by him to the extent she wanted to kill the girl beside him. With one last glare directed at Mia, Davina angrily grabbed her purse from the chair. But before she could storm out of the house, she stood beside Neil and looked up at him with so much hatred and disgust, then spoke in a low voice for only him to hear.

"I will make sure you regret this. The both of you will pay for this, mark my words." Saying this, she stormed out of the house with her friends hurrying after her, but she ignored them and entered her car then sped away from the mansion.

After the cars had driven away, Mia regained her composure inside the mansion. The shocking scene she had just witnessed had temporarily overwhelmed her senses. She couldn’t help but wonder if she had unintentionally ruined a relationship by coming here today. Lost in her thoughts, Mia stared off into space.

Suddenly, she felt a warm grip on her wrist. Looking down, she realized he was still holding her hand. Swiftly withdrawing her hand, Mia cleared her throat and spoke up, "I...I have to go. I apologize for coming here without informing you. I’ll leave now." She tried to leave without making eye contact, but he tightly grasped her wrist before she could take a single step away.

"I never asked you to leave. Stay with me for a little while," he breathed softly.
