Chapter 130: A Flashback

The wedding ceremony would start at two in the afternoon so Nina had to wake up before sunrise to prepare.

But she was exhausted because of what happened last night. Her body ached all over. She looked at the other side of the bed and saw the man beside her, sleeping quietly.

She smiled, showing off her pearly white teeth. She surrendered her body again to the man she loved the most, and she would never stop surrendering herself into his arms.

She couldn’t believe that they would get married for the second time. Then everything flashbacked to her.

Andrew was more like her mortal enemy.

He was the heir to Cross Realty Corporation—a company that buys lands both legally and illegally. His father wanted to develop the area where her family’s business was located. They already got everything except her family’s ramen shop.

They never agreed to sell the shop to them, especially her. It was the only memory her grandmother left with them. Her parents worked hard to take care of the business when her grandmother died of leukemia.

The business was there for as long as she could remember, so she couldn’t allow anyone to get it from them. However, Cross Realty bought the lands in the area. They planned to develop the place around Northbay City Mall.

She met Andrew for the first time when he tried to persuade them to sell the shop. Their first meeting wasn’t that nice. He was the typical rich heir born with a golden spoon. He was arrogant and so full of himself.

"Five million dollars. We’ll buy it!" He said.

"No! Never!" She yelled.

"Your place doesn’t really cost that much but I’m already giving you a huge amount. Consider it as a reward from me." He said, smirking.

She really hated him back then so she went to the kitchen and threw water on his face.

"We will never agree to sell the shop! Over my dead body!"

His face went dark and started to smell the water she just threw.

"What’s this smell?" He asked.

She started laughing and grinned.

"Oh you don’t know? Why? Did your mother never teach you how to wash the dishes?"

"You! I swear one day you’ll be begging in front of me!" He yelled while walking away from the shop.

That was their first conversation. More like an argument, actually. Thinking about it made her chuckle.

She was a girl with pride and big dreams. In her eyes, Andrew was nothing but a man with no conscience.

They met a few times after he became friends with the rich kids she hung out with. She tried to be nice to him since Alora, one of her friends, asked her.

She doesn’t really hate rich people, only Andrew and maybe some other kids who bully the weak. She was friends with some of the richest kids on campus.

Alora, the Ice Princess, an heiress and who was recently engaged to the richest guy on campus, Luke Wilson, Emily and Peggy, who are also one of the top 10 richest kids in Golden Oak.

She was envied by many because she was close to them. She was included in the Bronze Class and those rich kids were in the Platinum Class.

She still didn’t agree with how Golden Oak ranked their students. But she admit that a lot of wealthy kids were gifted. They weren’t just blessed with money and power, they also had talents and skills. And some of them were geniuses, like her daughter, Brie.

"Hey, what are you daydreaming about?" She was startled when Andrew hugges her from behind.

She giggled. "I’m thinking of the day we first met. Do you remember when I threw water on your face?"

Andrew laughed. "Yeah, I remember. I bathed for three hours because the smell won’t go away. And I was calling you names while in the bath."

"Really? What names?" She chuckled.

"Bitch, bronze girl, big tits."

She slapped Andrew on his shoulder and pouted.

"I didn’t know I’ll fall in love with you. But thinking about it is really funny. And I know you also called me a jerk and an asshole."

She laughed. "Because you were really a jerk back then. But now, you are a loving husband and father. I am so grateful to have you."

"The feeling is mutual my love. And I promise I will never disappoint you." Andrew gave her a quick kiss on the lips.

"I will never betray your trust again. I love you so much." Tears suddenly fell from her eyes.

Andrew immediately wiped the tears on her cheeks, showering her with kisses.

"Let’s only think about the happy memories. I’ll make sure to make more happy ones with you and Brie."

"Let’s both do it for Brie. I don’t want her to have any bad memory so I have decided to quit my job."

Andrew was surprised. "Are you sure? I’m not asking you to give up your dream, just give more time to Brie."

"I know. But I guess it’s time for me to help you with the company. Your father asked me."

Andrew was taken aback. Nina knew he was in bad terms with his father, but they’re parent and child, nothing could change that.

"Honey, I know you can’t forget the things he did. But Seira and your mom forgave him because he regret everything. He’s asking for a chance."

Andrew sighed. "I already did. He came to see me the other day. He transferred everything to me and Seira. Cross Realty and Cross Airlines are now under my name. Cross Builders is now owned by Seira. He even bought Brie a house abroad."

"Did you forgive him because of that?" She rolled her eyes.

Andrew chuckled. "Of course, not! I just realized that despite everything, he gave us what we needed. It may not be what we wanted, but that’s what we need to live. Maybe that’s his way of loving his children."

She was so happy that Andrew had already forgiven his father. Even if it was last minute, they decided to call him and invite him to their wedding, which he gladly accepted.

"Hey, lovebirds. Time to prepare. Go with your assigned prep rooms. Your team has arrived." Peggy called them.
