Chapter 116: Will You Marry Me Again?
Andrew was standing in the center of the rooftop. He was wearing a black turtleneck shirt top with a black coat.
She looked around and like her friends, she saw Luke, Jayden, and Percy standing behind him. They were all smiling and waiting.
"Why don’t you walk closer to him?" Alora whispered.
She nodded and slowly walked closer. As she took one step closer, she could hear her heartbeat. It was like walking toward him when they got married in Paris.
When she was a few steps away, Andrew walked closer.
"I’m sorry for not returning home." He said.
She gulped. She shouldn’t let him apologize. She had to muster the courage to tell him what was in her heart. She bit her lip and reached out her hand to touch his right cheek.
She shook her head and smiled. "Please don’t apologize. I’m so selfish and insensitive. I’m sorry."
"Hey—"
"Please listen to what I have to say." She said.
Andrew frowned and was surprised, but he nodded to listen to her.
"I’m sorry. It was a wrong move and a big mistake. I won’t use Brie as an excuse anymore. I know I was wrong. I should have trusted you. But Andrew, I want you to know that for four years I have never stopped thinking of you. The day Brie was born, I was so happy because it reminded me of you. As she grows up, I always see you in her. My love for you grew even more because of her." She paused.
"When James told me that I’m already free, I don’t know what to feel or to think. I was confused. I was scared to face you, to face your anger and your hatred toward me. Because I know it would break my heart. Because I know I don’t deserve to be with you anymore. That I lost my right to love you when I decided to leave you. But even though I felt like that, I wanted to be with you. I wanted to touch you and be touched by you. I wanted to hold on to you again and never let you go."
Tears started to fall from her eyes and Andrew started wiping her cheeks.
"I wanted to love you as long as I am alive. I wanted you to love me. I wanted to be yours again. I’m selfish, I know. I’m stupid for leaving you. But still, I wanted to continue being selfish and stupid. Because even though you might reject me, I still wanted to ask you. It was on my mind these past few days. I wanted to know your answer, I was just scared. But now, I don’t want to regret anything by not asking you. Andrew, I want to be you with forever, to grow old with you and die holding your hands. Andrew, will you marry me again?"
Finally, she was able to ask him. She wasn’t sure if he would agree, but still, she had no regret.
She waited for his answer. He was staring at her face as if memorizing every detail of it. He then gently kissed her on the forehead and she heard him chuckle, making her nervous.
"You really know how to annoy me, how to test my patience, and how to make my life upside down. From the first time I met you until now, you surprised me. You have a lot of crazy things on your plate." He said.
She pouted. "I-Is it bad?"
"Sshh. Let me talk, okay?" He whispered while stopping her from talking with his pointer finger.
She nodded.
"I remember the day I gave you the contract. You ripped and threw it right into my face. That’s when I realized you are different from other girls I had met and I was right. You never failed to show me how colorful the world is. You give your best in everything until now. I was jealous of James because he was with you at the lowest and the hardest part of your life. And he was beside you on your happiest day."
She frowned and wondered what he meant.
"It was when Brie was born. I know it was the happiest day of your life, and I hated myself for not being there. It wasn’t just your fault. It was mine, too. I drowned myself in hating you, instead of trying to understand you. I was consumed with jealousy and despair. And I’m sorry for that." He sighed.
"When I found out about Brie. I only wanted to be a father. I admit it was hard because I always compare myself with James. But Brie made me realize that I shouldn’t. I admire you for bringing her into this world. And because of that, I started to feel wanting more. I wanted more of you and Brie. I wanted to see your crazy antics. I wanted to hold your hand every day and see your face in the morning and before I close my eyes. I just couldn’t sleep with you, or make love to you without giving you anything. I wanted all of you. I wanted you to be mine again."
Her heart pounded and tears just keep on falling from her eyes. Her knees felt weak and she burst out crying when Andrew kneeled in front of her. He took something from his pocket, showing her a red box, and when he opened it, a diamond ring was inside.
"I know you already asked me. That’s the reason I said you surprised me. Because I was planning to propose, but you propose first. I didn’t expect that. But I want to answer your question." He smiled.
"Yes, I will marry you. I will keep on marrying you. I don’t care how many times. You are the only woman I want to marry. So Katharina Sommers, will you be Mrs.Cross again?" He finally asked.
She nodded. She felt like something was in her throat as she cried her heart out. But this time not because she was in pain, but because she was happy.
"Yes! Yes! I will marry you! I’ll be happy to be your wife again!" She said.
Andrew put the ring on her finger and when he stood up, she jumped into him and pressed his lips with hers. Andrew was surprised, but he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to deepen the kiss.
They didn’t care if their friends were there. They were happy and they knew their friends felt the same.
