Chapter 115: Nothing Changed
The girls glanced at each other. Then turned their eyes on her.
"Are you sure about marriage? I mean, you’ve been married once and didn’t end well." Peggy commented.
If the failure of her marriage was not her fault, she would get offended by Peggy’s words. But she didn’t have the right to feel that way. It failed because she was a coward and stupid.
Peggy was just worried about Andrew. Jayden and Peggy supported Andrew when she ran away and married James. She could’t blame Peggy for doubting her intention with Andrew.
"I know you are worried for him. I promise this time it’s different. I will fight for him, for Brie and our family. I will never leave him, Peg." She said.
Peggy sighed. "You don’t have to tell me that. Tell him. In the end, it’s his decision, not ours. But I want you to know that whatever happened to your relationship, we’re here to support both of you."
She smiled at Peggy. "Thank you, Peg."
The girls decided to accompany her to A.E Corporation. It was owned by the Wilsons and Jayden was the CEO of the company so they knew that their husbands were also there.
"Did you tell Jayden? Is he in his office?" Sophie asked.
They were on their way and were escorted by the A.E security team.
"Yes. He’s in a meeting with Luke and the others." Peggy answered.
"Luke is there? How odd." Sophie frowned.
"Why?" Nina asked.
"Luke is the chairman of Wilson Group. He doesn’t go to A.E Tower anymore." Sophie said
She was more confused with Sophie’s answer.
"So, is he not allowed? I mean, he still owns the company, right?"
Alora rolled her eyes. "We own twenty-five percent of it. Andrew and Percy now own fifteen percent each. And Jayden owns forty percent of the company. So, by that, Jayden is the major shareholder. It’s not under Wilson Group anymore. We all decided that A.E Corporation is now an independent company. But we never made an announcement about it. It was everyone’s decision not to, so in the eyes of everyone, it’s still under Wilson Group."
She knew the reason they never announced it. It was for the safety of everyone. If the enemy found out that A.E Corporation was now operating separately and not under Wilson Group anymore, they would surely attack it first.
Jayden was one of the main targets of the Trekker Clan so they would definitely attack his company if they knew that he owns almost half of it.
"What do you think the meeting is about?" She asked.
But she didn’t receive any response from her friends. And she didn’t ask further. She focused on her goal for now—proposing to Andrew.
They arrived in front of the main building and everyone was astonished when four beautiful women came out of the black limousine.
"Is that Margaret Richards? The CEO’s boss? The princess?"
They heard someone whisper. Nina remembered when they were in high school. Her friends were always the center of attention because of their beauty.
"Nothing changed." She said.
"It did change. Before, Alora was always everyone’s favorite. But now, Peggy is being followed by everyone."
Peggy sighed. "Because they see me as the princess of Flousia and the King’s sister, not as Margaret Richards."
"But you are a princess and the King’s sister, so why are you annoyed about it?"
"Because I want to be recognized as Jayden’s wife." Peggy pouted.
Nina smiled. Peggy was still head over heels in love with her husband. She admired her for being a strong independent woman like Alora and Sophie. She wanted to be like her friends someday.
"Jayden sent a message. The meeting will end in an hour. Why don’t we wait in his office?" Peggy said.
Nina wanted to complain. She wanted to run to Andrew, apologize, and propose to him. But the meeting looked so important and she didn’t want to be a bother again, so she followed her friends into Jayden’s office.
"Princess Margaret! It’s an honor to see you here." An old man came running toward them when they entered the main building.
"What did I tell you about my name? We’re not in Flousia so I’m asking you again, please drop the princess." Peggy sighed.
The old man chuckled. "I apologize Mrs.Richards. Everyone is happy to see you."
The old man accompanied them into Jaden’s office. It was her first time to be in there, and she could say that the room was warm and had a positive vibe in it.
They sat on the sofa, started chatting, and had some snacks and coffee. She remembered their younger days in Queens’ garden. They will stay there for hours chatting and laughing while drinking tea. It was her favorite time of the day—tea time.
"Jayden sent a message again. The meeting is over, but they’re headed to the event hall on the rooftop." Peggy said excitedly.
Nina was confused. She felt like something was stopping her from seeing Andrew. She wanted to run again and look for him, but Peggy said the boys were headed to the rooftop, so she followed them again.
Walking from Jayden’s office and to the hallway outside felt so endless. She felt anxious and her heart started pounding.
When the elevator that would lead them to where Andrew was, opened, she felt like her heart would but out from her chest.
And as the number on the elevator changed, her knees started to wobble. She was being a coward again. She took a deep breath multiple times but her anxiousness didn’t vanish.
Then she felt someone touch her hands. Alora, Peggy, and Sophie were all smiling at her.
"Don’t worry. We’re just behind you." Sophie murmured.
She was relieved and at the same time confused. She saw excitement in her friends faces. Then she noticed a white rose hanging on their dresses.
She just realized that the three were wearing white dresses. She was about to ask them, but when she heard the bell and the elevator door opened, she felt like her whole body got frozen.
