Chapter 50: Towards The Shadow Grounds

Chapter 50: Towards The Shadow Grounds

The Fae Queen ’Dyona’ only revealed the telekinesis ability, nothing else. Yet, that alone was enough to play with someone on the level of a Pathwalker as if she were playing with an ant. How can she be so strong? Isn’t that a bit too much?

Letting out a helpless sigh, Valtar started thinking about what he should do next. As he was thinking, he stood up from the Tribe Leader’s seat and started walking towards the entrance. The Darkness by now seems to be entirely gone. Daylight had illuminated the Eternal Dark grounds of the Dark Elven Tribe.

Valtar now had 38 Wraithbounds with him Including Zolthar, The First Elder. All of them were walking right behind in measured steps. He looked like a Gangster with a powerful Gang following behind him.

Unfortunately, Valtar was too deep in thought to think about such things. When he walked out, he breathed in deeply. The rays of sunlight shone on his skin, he felt warm. Unlike him who was enjoying the warmth of the sun, the Wraithbounds winced back slightly in the bright sunlight. This was understandable since dark elves were creatures who thrived on Darkness, there’s also the fact that the summoned Ghosts were also creatures close to the Element of Darkness. He still did not know the reason why the Ghost summoner skill was under the section ’Blood’ concept.

He rubbed his eyelids in slight frustration,

"You know what never mind, let’s change back the name of the skill to what it was before and call the possessed one’s Ghostbounds."

The system almost replied in an annoyed tone,

[The skill name has been changed back to

’Ghost Summoner’ and the possessed ones shall be called ’Ghostbounds’ from now on.]

[From now on skill names cannot be changed by The Host as he wishes.]

Valtar’s eyes flashed in slight annoyance as he shook his head.

(Author here, I apologize for this issue.)

He then focused his attention back onto the ghostbounds, they now seem to be a bit better, took a few moments for them to suddenly get used to the bright sunlight I suppose. He then looked towards the border, curious about something, so he dashed forward and commanded the ghostbounds to follow him, they obeyed him silently as they also ran just behind him.

After about 10 minutes of running, they reached the border of the Eastern Tribes area, It was a transparent barrier. Unlike what he thought, the barrier was not gone, It still remained. He wanted to go check out the barrier on the side of the fae folks area but he dared not to. Now that the darkness was gone, he dared not be so careless.

Since, the barrier here was still active, then the whole barrier is also active. He was internally relieved. If the whole barrier was gone, he was afraid the Fae folks would attack him immediately. Thankfully he did not need to worry about that.

Looking around, everything was dead. The trees animals or insects that lived in the deep darkness, all had died. It looked like a dead and barren land. Valtar also realized that since the Darkness was now gone, The Fae folks must have realized what had happened, he would have preferred to keep this card of his hidden, being able to command the Ghostbounds.

Another question may arise, what was the reason he killed the Tribe Leader so brutally that his corpse could not be used anymore? After all, he was a powerful pathwalker. Unfortunately, there was no summoned ghost he had on that level that could possess him, not to mention the ghost summoned from his own body cannot be used to possess that very body. There was more than that, perhaps simply instinct.

Suddenly another discrepancy was noticed by him, The Fae queen once said to him that to send Elmyra and her team a large number of Dark elves were sacrificed, then why was there no memory related to that. One more question like thousands which were still unanswered were added to the list of his mystery of the forest.

He then looked towards a certain direction of the forest, he narrowed his eyes. So, only one option left. He decided to go towards the western part of the forest. The lands of Shadow beasts. He hoped to get something good from there, and probably not encounter too much trouble, he hoped.

To go to the western section of the forest, one needed to pass through the central area, which he previously went through when going with the warriors of the East Tribe. That place seems to be a midsection everyone can go to. He thought internally, "If I’m not wrong after I take the shadow crystal, similar to how I took the blood crystal and Dark crystal. Then the barrier of Fae folks will break."

Looking back at the 38 Dark Elves behind him he nodded and ran towards the western section with his dark elf minions, it was the last hurdle of his before the final confrontation with the Fae folks.

In the meantime, just when all the Darkness of the Dark Elven Tribes area was lifted. Inside of the Fae folks area, it was a breathtakingly beautiful forest. Deep inside of it a small castle stands covered in green. It was a structure in total harmony with the surrounding nature which only served to make it look more majestic.

Inside of it, right in the midsection was a small throne chamber. Even the insides of it were filled with natural beauty that defied comprehension. In that throne chamber at the center was a large round table, then at one side was a majestic wooden throne which was situated slightly above, indicating the one to sit on it was superior to the others.

The large round table only had 10 seats, meaning only 10 were below the status of the one to sit on the wooden throne. If there were any more they could only stand around in circle right behind the seated ones in the table.

That was exactly what was happening here, 10 breathtakingly beautiful Fae was sitting on the table. Among them were the triplets Dyona once mentioned to Valtar. Shailyn, Raelyn, and Thailyn. Each of them had their unique characteristics that set them apart from the rest.

They all had a dangerous glint in their eyes. Some were amused, some were relaxed, and some had an uninterested expression on their faces. Some had a sinister grin. They all had tree vine-like hairs of different shapes and colors, horns similar to tree roots.

There were strange and enchanting patterns on their eyes that could captivate male or female anyone who looked at them. Each seated Fae had 2 more Fae standing directly behind their seat. Making a total of 30 Fae folks, among them 10 were seated and 20 were standing.

They all simultaneously looked at the wooden throne in a position above them. It was empty. None of them knew that their queen was actually having a conversation with the very human who was their topic of discussion. One of them stated while looking at her beautiful fingers, "So, the Darkness has been lifted from that area."

A second one said, "More like absorbed."

Another one chimed in, "Heh, I never thought the human would be the one to emerge victorious against all odds."

More of the Fae joined in the conversation, "I told you this would be the case, the Queen was too optimistic about the human, there’s definitely a reason for it."

"Hmph, the Queen merely said one good statement about the human, yet you started jumping on just that."

"So, what if I did."

"More important is the fact that human seems to be able to use that skill, yet with much much greater proficiency."

There was utter silence, and then all of them looked towards a certain Fae named Thailyn.

Thailyn had a calm expression as she also looked back at them without a change of expression. Someone eventually asked, "Do you have something to say, Thailyn?"

She did not answer immediately and replied after a few moments, "I taught the Ghost summoning mantra to the human named Zhao, and that mantra itself was not in the library, The Queen taught it to me, it was something that was useless for any of us without the blood crystal."

Her answer may sound cryptic, but everyone understood the meaning of her words. Every single one of them could be said as extremely terrifying beings, each possessing versatile and complex abilities. Yet none could dare say that they could hold a candle in front of their Queen. It was not simply because there was an immense difference in strength, rather it was because none of them could ever understand the true self of the queen.

Every single living being always chases something, they have likes, dislikes, understandings, and misunderstandings. By witnessing these general behaviors you can understand a person. Most Fae simply chased entertainment as they were all trapped. To relieve their boredom they could do anything.

Yet their Queen never seems to be like that. She always treated all the Fae nicely unless they committed some grave and unforgivable error. What Thailyn meant by her statement was that since she herself learned it from the Queen, everything was under her control.

This was another facet of their Queen, almost everything was always under her control.
