Chapter 273: Advices

Snapping out of his daze, Feng Zhexuan replied, "Zheming, I will head over immediately. Please take good care of Yuling."

"Understood," Wei Zheming replied.

After ending the call, disbelief lingered on Feng Zhexuan’s face. His mind spun as he tried to recall his memories.

They had always used protection during their intimate moments, due to his wife’s young age. He hadn’t wanted her to endure pregnancy so early.

However, as he sifted through his memories, one night came to mind. That night, he returned drunk after a social gathering. His recollection of that evening was hazy, except for the passionate and crazy night shared with his wife.

He couldn’t remember whether protection had been used or not during their intimacy. Considering how sore he had felt in the morning, he concluded it must have been a vigorous night. Realizing this might be the cause of his wife’s unplanned pregnancy, he slapped his face in frustration.

SLAP!

Hearing the sudden sound, Grandpa Feng frowned and asked with shock, "Zhexuan, are you insane? Why are you hitting yourself?"

"Grandpa," Feng Zhexuan hesitantly began, "what should I do?"

Noticing his grandson’s uncharacteristic behavior, Grandpa Feng grew concerned. He felt his chest tighten and his face slowly turned pale.

"What happened? Did something happen to Yuling or her father?" he asked, his voice tight with worry.

Realizing he had alarmed his grandfather, Feng Zhexuan quickly walked over to him and reassured him, "Grandpa, Yuling is fine and my father-in-law’s surgery is successful."

Relieved but annoyed, Grandpa Feng smacked the back of Feng Zhexuan’s head as he scolded him, "Then why are you acting like the sky is falling?"

Rubbing his head, Feng Zhexuan hesitated before confessing, "Grandpa, Yuling might be pregnant."

Joy lit up Grandpa Feng’s face as soon as he heard this news. He slapped his thigh while exclaiming, "That’s fantastic! The Feng family finally has an heir!"

But while Grandpa Feng beamed, Feng Zhexuan’s expression remained clouded.

Noticing this, Grandpa Feng asked with a frown, "You brat, are you unhappy your wife is carrying your child?"

"It’s not that, Grandpa," Feng Zhexuan replied, frowning deeply.

"Yuling is only 20 years old. I’m worried about the toll pregnancy and childbirth might take on her," he added with a sigh.

Understanding his grandson’s concern, Grandpa Feng softened his tone and said, "She is indeed young but that also means she will recover faster after childbirth. Besides, we can provide the best medical care."

"Still, the baby is not yours alone so you can’t make the sole decision. You need to discuss this with Yuling. If both of you decide to wait to have a child for a few more years, I won’t object."

"But if you choose to keep the child, have her stay here in the capital. Remember, even if it’s early, life is already forming in your wife’s stomach. Make your decision wisely, don’t regret it in the future."

Feng Zhexuan pondered his grandpa’s words for a moment before replying, "Grandpa, I understand."

Standing up, he added, "I need to head to the capital now. Call me if you need anything."

Grandpa Feng waved him off with a dismissive gesture and said impatiently, "Go accompany your wife. I have Xiao Li and Xiao Xu here. I don’t need you fussing over me."

After reminding his grandpa several more times to take care of himself, Feng Zhexuan finally left the hospital and made his way to the airport. Since the helicopter hadn’t returned from the capital, he had to use his light aircraft instead.

Although obtaining takeoff clearance for a light aircraft took longer than for a helicopter, he had special permissions in place. The aircraft would be ready in an hour, and thanks to Wei Zheming’s efficient handling of the arrangements, all Feng Zhexuan needed to do was wait at the airport.

Meanwhile, in the capital, Yan Yuling woke up groggy from a short nap. She looked around the unfamiliar environment and recalled she was in a hospital ward.

Pushing herself up, she sat on the bed, noticing she no longer felt dizzy or nauseous. Instead, she felt a sharp pang of hunger and a sudden craving for milk tea. Smacking her dry lips, she reached for her bag on the bedside table, retrieved her phone, and opened a food delivery app.

Under normal circumstances, she didn’t have strong food preferences, but today, spicy food was all she could think about. Just seeing pictures of spicy strips made her mouth water as if she hadn’t eaten in days.

Since spicy strips would take a few days to deliver, she decided to order them later. For now, she placed an order for a cup of cookies-and-cream boba, milk tea, duck feet, chicken feet, and grilled squid.

Even street food vendors offer delivery services now which makes things convenient. After confirming the delivery address, she put her phone away and headed to the bathroom.

Despite feeling sluggish and tired, she reminded herself she was no longer just the unwanted daughter of the Yan family. She was now the young madam of the Feng family and couldn’t afford to tarnish their reputation.

While using the bathroom, she noticed a stain on her underwear. Her period had become irregular recently due to stress, and she assumed her "big aunt" had come to visit. With no sanitary napkins available, she made do with tissue paper for the moment.

When she exited the bathroom, she was surprised to find Wei Zheming and a nurse waiting for her.

The nurse smiled warmly when she saw her and said, "Madam, we need to run a few tests. Please come with me."

Thinking back to her earlier dizziness, Yan Yuling smiled and said, "There is no need for tests. I have hemophobia. Whenever I see blood, I get dizzy. Fortunately, I only saw it on a screen earlier. If I had watched the surgery in person, I might have fainted."

Wei Zheming’s eyebrows lifted slightly in surprise. He hadn’t expected her to have a blood phobia. While this might explain her earlier symptoms, it was better to ensure there were no underlying health issues.
