Knights and Magic Wand
Chapter 129 - 129 83 The Undissipating Obsession

129: Chapter 83: The Undissipating Obsession 129: Chapter 83: The Undissipating Obsession The windless clearing was exceptionally quiet.

The majestic ostrich feather stood erect atop the Spear Warrior’s helmet, adorning the gold ornaments.

The fully covered silver armor shone brightly, with edges that seemed to be trimmed with genuine gold.

A dark crimson battle robe draped over the right shoulder, while the big ring shoulder armor that covered from the left shoulder to the chest bore a round, empty-hearted flame pattern.

The long spear held by the warrior was entirely metallic.

Instead of the common axe shape, its blade was a single-edged knife.

The shining blade was carved with complex patterns, and its spine extended into a spike, as exquisite as a piece of art.

This luxuriously extravagant set of armor and weapon, in style, was very different from the Armor of the Felu people, Urians, or even Atiyas people that Leon had seen so far.

“This honorable sir?

Are you a living person?”

Leon took the initiative to break the silence, tentatively calling out to the magnificent warrior who stood head bowed outside the Array.

Still unsure whether he was friend or foe, he tried to avoid any misunderstanding.

After all, it wouldn’t do to extract the soul of a living person to ignite the Spirit Lamp without making distinctions.

But Leon’s inquiry received no response.

The towering Heavy Armor Spear Guard remained motionless outside the Array, head bowed as if looking at something, standing silent and steadfast like a statue.

Leon dared not rush forward to check whether the formidable Heavy Armored Knight was indeed dead or alive, so he turned to the presence within his heart for answers.

“What is a Flame Sun Guard?

Miss Lora, do you recognize this fellow’s identity?”

“The Flame Sun Guard is an elite Guard responsible for protecting the Mage Lord,” Lora answered indifferently.

“Of course, the one before us has long passed.

I sense no signs of life; he has become a Living Corpse.”

“So the Spirit Lamp can use his soul too?” Leon continued to ask.

“It can, but for you, such a warrior, even as a mindless Undead, is still far too dangerous.

See that Armor he’s wearing?

Each component is made from Anti-Magic Steel.

Without removing his Armor, the Magic Technique at your feet cannot affect his soul.”

Lora warned, “You’re lucky he hasn’t attacked you.

Step back slowly.

If this fellow wants to kill you, I can’t stop him right now.

Isa’s Arrow would be as effective as tickling when it hits a Guard’s Armor.”

…Tickling…

Leon felt a chill down his spine and wisely began to slowly step back.

However, just as Leon had taken a single step back, the previously still “Flame Sun Guard” suddenly took action.

The Guard wielding the Long Spear stepped with heavy footsteps, marching straight into the range of the Array.

Leon tensed up as if facing a great enemy, almost ready to shout for Kovis to mount his horse and flee.

But then, to the astonished gaze of the two young men inside and outside the Array,

the Flame Sun Guard slowly bent down, propping the War Axe, and with a loud thud…

the heavy body knelt on one knee to the ground.

Leon’s retreating steps instantly halted.

He looked puzzled at the Living Corpse Guard bowing deeply before him.

“What does this mean?” A kneeled salute?

Leon pondered that he hadn’t even had a chance to flex his muscles.

“…”

Miss Lora seemed to muse for a moment, then hesitantly spoke: “Maybe…

due to the Magic at your feet, his remaining sanity may have mistaken you for a Mage of the same faction.”

While Leon listened with confusion to Lora’s guess,

the Mage Guard, now an Undead, did not cease his actions.

The Spear Warrior raised his left hand, along with the Armor, removed the helmet adorned with the ostrich feather.

Unsurprisingly, beneath it was the shriveled head of a dried corpse.

The hair on its head had long fallen out, and in the empty eye sockets of the Undead warrior flickered the Ghost Fire, symbolizing the Netherworld.

After removing the helmet, the kneeling Flame Sun Guard ceased all movements, its hollow eyes of the Wandering Soul gazing blankly at the ground’s Array runes, settling into silence.

“It’s truly surprising, did he recognize the Magic Technique?…

To be so obsessed despite being dead for so long.” Lora sighed and urged Leon,

“Draw out the Dharma Seal, by his looks, he seems willing to cooperate with my Spell.

This is good, to wander eternally in this domain is suffering for him, it’s time to let him rest in peace.”

Hearing Miss Lora say this, Leon felt relieved, admiring this Guard who had been dead for who knows how long but still possessed a knightly spirit; even as an Undead, he was not only harmless but didn’t forget to use his soul to help others.

He definitely deserved a decent grave once outside.

Mentally expressing his thanks, Leon immediately gestured a Dharma Seal to the kneeling Undead Guard showing its head, enabling the Miss Mage within him to activate the Magic Technique underfoot.

The Magic Light blossomed once again.

But unlike the spectral soul shadow Leon had seen last time, the Guard’s soul being slowly extracted by the Magic shone with an exceptionally bright white light.

The Guard’s body, now devoid of its soul, stilled completely; its heavy War Axe clanged against his shoulder Armor.

The dazzling soul of the Guard ascended into midair and followed the flow of Magic Light into the Spirit Lamp buried at the center of the Array.

The glow of the Demon Rune faded, concluding the Magic Technique.

Leon hurriedly walked to the center, digging for the Spirit Lamp buried in the soil.

Upon uncovering the dirt, he was dazzled by the intense light that forced him to squint.

The light of the soul inside the wooden cage was much more blinding than before.

“…So bright?

Does that mean the place he wants to return to is also close by?” Leon asked with surprise in his heart.
