Chapter 861 - 861 849 Im Just Fixing the Ground
Chapter 861: Chapter 849 I’m Just Fixing the Ground Chapter 861: Chapter 849 I’m Just Fixing the Ground The avatar of the Evil God heard what the Land Emperor Turtle had said, a corner of his mouth twitched slightly. Even if his head was filled with water, he would not believe a single word uttered by this seemingly naive turtle. He was clearly being taken for a fool.
“I want to leave this place,” the half-man, half-scorpion avatar of the Evil God said to the giant turtle with a darkened face.
“Titan has not yet arrived, you cannot leave!” The Land Emperor Turtle replied cheerfully.
“What right do you have to stop me?” The avatar of the Evil God, who had sporadic shell-like encrustations upon his human torso, grew exceedingly angry. This was too much of an affront to a deity.
“Didn’t you descend as an avatar to fight with Titan? Titan hasn’t arrived yet, so why leave?” The Land Emperor Turtle asked curiously.
“Who says I descended as an avatar just to fight with Titan?” Hearing the giant turtle’s response, the deity felt like vomiting blood. Was he so stuffed with food that he’d descend with great exertion just to brawl with Titan?
He descended to prevent the battle situation from collapsing and was determined to slaughter the army of Xena Pus, allowing his believers to last a little longer, hopefully to mount a resistance.
Now, wasn’t it common knowledge that those damned Titans treated their avatars like sparring partners? But even with this knowledge, what could they do? These Evil Gods surely didn’t dare to strike at the Titans, avoiding first whether their avatars could defeat them.
Let’s just talk about, indeed, the willingness to strike a blow. In fact, the rules allowing only the display of Legendary Peak strength could temporarily be circumvented by certain deities. In some circumstances, they could launch attacks that surpassed the Legendary Peak, reaching up to the upper limits of Divine Power against the creatures of the Material World.
But the issue was what would the Epics behind the Titans do if such an attack killed a Titan? There was no need to think much to know the answer to that.
When a deity sought to withdraw the divine power and consciousness from this avatar, to swallow this bitter pill and keep the upset to himself, he discovered a terribly awkward situation. He was unable to retract his consciousness and divine power; this part of his consciousness that had been separated was actually sealed within the avatar, unable to leave.
“Didn’t you say you wouldn’t interfere with this battle? Why have you imprisoned my consciousness and prevent me from retrieving my power?” The avatar of the deity looked at the Land Emperor Turtle angrily. This was completely outrageous!
“What? What are you talking about? I don’t understand a word. I am just an honest Land Emperor Turtle; can’t you see? I am merely reinforcing the terrain, preparing the best battlefield for you and the approaching Titan. I work so diligently, yet you slander me. Doesn’t your conscience hurt?”
The Land Emperor Turtle turned its rugged, mountainous head toward the Evil God, its eyes brimming with a gentle hue, seemingly innocent, as if not understanding why the Evil God would accuse it thus.
“Don’t go too far!” The avatar of the Evil God was furious. In all his life, he had never seen a more shameless creature, telling blatant lies with his eyes wide open, completely leaning towards the Titans, while claiming to be diligent. It was pure mockery—he was practically trying to play him to death.
“Hmm, I won’t argue with you; Titan will be here soon!” Even when pointedly insulted, the Land Emperor Turtle wasn’t angry in the slightest. After all, the Titan who would beat him up was arriving shortly, and not just one, sparing him the need to take action himself.
“Boom!”
As soon as the Land Emperor Turtle finished speaking, a rainbow light burst forth from the distant horizons and rapidly approached, striking the ground a hundred meters in front of the avatar of the Evil God. From within the light, a Titan arrayed in battle armor, wielding a battle halberd, stepped forth, exposing his pearly white teeth with a smile as he looked at the avatar of the Evil God.
Having waited for so long, finally, another avatar of an Evil God had arrived, providing an opportunity to exercise his limbs. However, he needed to hurry, as his Father was also in Xena Pus.
Cling!
Muria had no intention of conversing further with this avatar of an Evil God. He lifted his Battle Halberd and chopped down with force. As he wielded the Prison-suppression halberd, myriad Golden Thunderbolts spontaneously formed in the sky—where the Dark Clouds had been dispelled by the Land Emperor Turtle—circling around him. This was his power, drawing in the thunder element from the surroundings into his aura.
In fact, if Muria did not deliberately restrain his power and showed his true form, a Hurricane Group filled with thunder would form around him. That was his current power; unrestrained, his mere presence was a force of nature, a walking natural disaster.
Crackling and snapping!
Radiant golden thunderbolts entwined around the Battle Halberd, and as Muria slashed down, the myriad thunderbolts that had emerged in the sky also struck towards the avatar of the Evil God opposite him. However, the thunderbolts covering the sky were merely a spectacle and did not inflict any real damage on the avatar of the Evil God.
The real attack remained the battle halberd wielded by Muria, forged from a mix of thirteen legendary metals. As Muria’s power expanded, the weapon had devoured many more of these metals, further enhancing its might.
In essence, this halberd was no less formidable than the divine artifacts that the deities in the heavens had poured their hearts into creating. In fact, most deities’ weapons were not even made of materials as fine as what Muria held in his hands.
The weapon in Muria’s grasp was comparable to a divine artifact, but the rules Muria had comprehended and left on the weapon were too slight, so its power still fell short of a true artifact. However, it was only a matter of time before it equaled or even surpassed them. The exclusive weapon was designed to grow in strength alongside Muria’s own.
For Muria, it was sufficient; his weapon could easily tear apart the bodies of deity avatars. If they wished to battle Muria, they needed a weapon on par with his, or else prepare to be reduced to rubble!
The half-man, half-scorpion evil god avatar raised a pair of pincers, crossed them above its head in a futile attempt to block Muria’s halberd but such an action was so foolish that Muria almost laughed.
The moon blade on the Prison-suppression halberd cleaved through its pincers as if they were butter and continued to split the god’s human upper body in half; had its lower half not been that of a scorpion, the entire body would have been bisected by Muria.
“What a sharp weapon!” Even with its skull split and its insides charred, the evil god emitted a strange sound, as an imperceptible domain began to spread out.
However, as it enveloped Muria, a pale golden light surfaced on his body, purifying the dark aura that sought to invade him.
“Boring tricks!” Seeing the black aura that wanted to enter and disrupt him, only to be purified, Muria sneered disdainfully. By now, he had seen many such tactics in battle; yet, almost none had any effect on him.
“The Titan Body is truly troublesome!” Seeing its own domain had no effect on Muria, the evil god expressed its annoyance with a sigh. However, the body that Muria had just cleaved was already healing.
“Hmm!” Just as it prepared to move its scorpion legs towards Muria, it found the six legs that had been driven into the ground by Muria’s strike were now stuck, unable to move.
“You…” As the evil god prepared to lash out at the giant turtle nearby, a battle halberd swept through the air, tracing an elegant golden arc and bisecting the god’s human and scorpion halves.
“Muria, you actually had the Land Emperor Turtle help you, wasn’t it a one-on-one battle?” By now, Muria’s name had spread among the evil gods, and the one split at the waist did not rush to heal its body but instead shouted out Muria’s name, questioning him. The evil god was on the brink of madness because of the giant turtle.
“It is a one-on-one battle!” Muria, who was just about to decapitate the deity again, replied, and then proceeded to chop off its head without delay. While chatting during a battle was one thing, there was no room for delay in his actions.
“You had the Land Emperor Turtle interfere with my actions!”
“Don’t slander me. I was merely repairing the battleground. It’s not my fault your feet got stuck and you didn’t pull them out in time, getting caught for a moment. Are you going to blame me for that?” the Land Emperor Turtle immediately retorted. It was a fair and just creature; if it said it would not interfere in the fight, it would not. It was simply diligently maintaining the battlefield, repairing any damage immediately.
“How about you repair it after I’m done fighting him, alright?” Muria, who had paused before kicking the evil god’s severed head, negotiated politely with the Land Emperor Turtle.
“Sure, I’ll stop repairing now. You two go ahead and fight,” the Land Emperor Turtle responded with a chuckle, smiling at the evil god avatar which had been chopped into three pieces and agreed.
“I’ll give you another chance. Heal yourself, and then fight me with all the strength of this avatar,” Muria said to the severed deity head, proposing magnanimously.
“Restore what!” The evil god did not appreciate the gesture and snorted coldly. Its body, which had been split into three parts, began to rapidly regenerate and grow. It transformed into a giant scorpion for its headless lower half, a vast giant capable of standing shoulder to shoulder with Muria’s Titan Body, and its head, along with one piece of vertebrae, stretched infinitely to become a human-headed snake.
“Interesting!” Muria grinned as he saw the three bodies, each with the aura of the legendary peak, and the evil god avatar that had split. He surmised it had used some secret technique to divide into three entities in a short period, but they would not be as enduring as the previous whole body.
“But I can duplicate too!” From within Muria, divine weapons clanged, and eight streaks of light shot out one after another, landing on the ground and transforming into eight avatars with the same form as Muria.
Then, under the astonished gaze of the evil god, nine Murias closed in and began to pummel the three avatars.
