Chapter 797 - 797 786 Skillful Enough to Make Ones Heart

Chapter 797: Chapter 786: Skillful Enough to Make One’s Heart Ache Chapter 797: Chapter 786: Skillful Enough to Make One’s Heart Ache “Tch!” Muria turned around, the sweet smiling sister who had just served their family cold drinks at the counter was skillfully preparing to escape through the door behind the counter. Before her quick departure, she reminded the calm Muria family and urged them to take refuge.

“What are you doing still sitting there? Run! Another superpower beast is about to emerge, if you don’t run, it will be too late.” After she finished speaking, the young lady looked at the unmoving Muria family, sighed a bit annoyedly, and then ran off.

“That young lady is quite adorable,” the Golden Dragon Mother casually commented.

“The routine of her actions gives me a bit of a heartache !” Muria sighed softly, looking at the young lady who had disappeared without a trace, then glanced outside at the empty streets, where only the guarding soldiers are left.

“There’s a little guy emerging from the ground again.” Ansol, transformed into a black-haired teenager, sat to one side. He was not paying attention to the orderly and quickly withdrawing local residents, but looking in the distance. The surrounding buildings could not obstruct his line of sight, allowing him to detect the source of the vibrations that caused the earthquake.

Roar!

A deep roar sounded, followed by more intense vibrations and the noise of collapsing buildings. Through the glass window of the drink shop where he was, Muria looked towards the sky in the distance. There, a plume of dust rose and, with that dust plume, a building collapsed with a thunderous crash, intensifying the vibrations.

The soldiers who were just patrolling the streets seem to have simultaneously received some sort of mandatory command, holding their weapons and lining up neatly to rush towards the smoke-filled area.

Then, from the distance, there was the sound of treads churning, and huge metal warplanes streaked across the sky leaving trails of sonic boom. Following that, the sounds of shell fire could be heard.

One after another, missiles ripping the sky with long trails of flames shot into the billowing smoke, then detonated with an enormous blast. As a result, more buildings collapsed and the sky became even murkier.

Roar! Amid the continuous explosion sounds, an angry beastly roar sounded. Then a beam of light broke through the dust and instantly blasted a raven-like warplane out of the sky.

The warplane exploded in the air. Shattered metal fragments rained down from the sky, causing severe damage to the buildings below. This was the first warplane to fall, followed by the second, the third…one after another, their lasers fired from the dust. Several more warplanes and even some tanks were shot out of the sky.

“The defensive forces of this world are indeed very quick to respond,” said Muria, calmly sipping his cold drink while watching the fiery battlefield outside.

From the emergence of the disturbance to the arrival of these defensive forces, the whole process took no more than five minutes. This level of response can be deemed as swift.

But it also indirectly shows how miserable the life of the inhabitants of this world is. It’s not at all an exaggeration to say it’s like being trapped between a rock and a hard place! After all, Muria’s family had landed at random in a city.

Such a rapid response from the city’s defense forces indicates that there is definitely a military base stationed nearby. This configuration is probably not exceptional; it’s likely that every city with a slightly larger population has a similar base.

This fact alone showcases the danger of this world, and why it requires such dense and manifold arrangements of military bases.

“The response is swift, but it’s not much help,” replied the Golden Dragon Mother. “Listen to the roar of that little creature. It’s still very powerful and shows no signs of weakening.”

“This level of attack power might make it feel pain, but it doesn’t harm it fundamentally.” Muria noted, looking casually at the explosions outside, without much desire to intervene.

If he really had to choose a side to help, he was unsure of the choice. It didn’t seem right to favor either side. After all, even the so-called beasts are just creatures that mutated due to the disturbance caused by the Blood of Titans.

The Titans used their blood to change the entire world to garner two things – resources and minions. The meaning of resources is self-explanatory, and as for minions, the rule is natural – whoever is stronger gets to rule, and the weak are obediently left aside.

“This world’s intelligent races should still possess some special powers! What they have shown so far can only hold back the creatures they call superpower beasts, and they aren’t able to cause any serious damage to them.

If they don’t have any special powers, this race has no place in this world.”

In what seemed like a response to Muria’s words, just as he finished speaking, a giant meteor, trailing intense flames, plummeted from the sky. Even though it was daytime, this flame was clearly visible.

Boom!

The meteor slammed heavily into the city, triggering a massive shockwave that instantly demolished a large area of buildings. The destruction it caused was even greater than the commotion caused by the appearance of the Superpower Beast, plus the battle with the local defense army.

“Mech?” Muria looked at the towering steel colossus rising from the dust, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes. He wondered if the pilot had lost his mind, to be brawling on his own territory so recklessly.

“Is that thing the Superpower Beast?” Thanks to the Mech’s dramatic and ostentatious entrance, Muria could finally see what the Superpower Beast, which had triggered this battle and was now fighting the city’s defense forces, looked like.

It was a creature resembling a Dragon Turtle, but unlike the dignified and gentle Dragon Turtle, this little monster’s back was covered with countless volcano-like jets emitting tremendous energy fluctuations. The explosions and even the attacks that had suppressed the whole city’s defense forces had come from these jets.

“It looks quite impressive.” Seeing the Armored Dragon Turtle’s appearance, Muria nodded in approval. This was a relatively versatile creature.

Its appearance suggested it had the power to burrow through the earth, and the attack mechanism on its back demonstrated its anti-aircraft capabilities. The fact that its tail, which resembled a giant serpent, was equipped with powerful lasers also indicated its exceptional close-combat abilities.

And the enemy of this turtle-type Superpower Beast, the Mech that had come to banish it, also seemed to be in very good shape; at the very least, it had an impressive appearance and exerted a distinctive aura, suggesting it was not simply a product of technological enhancement.

This Mech stood approximately thirty meters high, with a pair of mechanical wings on its back for flight. It was loaded with a variety of energy weapons of varying sizes. However, the most eye-catching feature was the greatsword hanging behind it.

“This is also quite impressive.” Apart from the various kinetic weapons loaded on the Mech, Muria had also spotted numerous cold weapons for close combat.

Truth be told, without the influence of Extraordinary Powers, a humanoid Mech could be considered the weakest form on the battlefield. Yet, the human form also had its unique advantages that other combat forms couldn’t match: it was versatile.

However, if one were to use technology to create a humanoid Mech, it would merely demonstrate the intellectual disability of its creator and designer. The characteristics of technological firepower could not be fully realized with a humanoid Mech, and this form had far too many weaknesses.

However, with Extraordinary Powers, everything changed. In such a case, the advantages of a humanoid form could be perfectly showcased, and all weaknesses of the Mech could be mitigated, except firepower output, which would always be a weak point for the humanoid Mech.

What humanoid Mechs excel at – close combat – could be maximally exploited. With Extraordinary Powers, which can be blended with technology, the humanoid form becomes an excellent choice.

“Come on, let me see who is superior: the Superpower Beast birthed by the Blood of Titans or the Intelligent Races that have dominated this world for tens of thousands of years,” he said.

Although the native Intelligent Races, which evolved under the influence of the Blood of Titans, resemble humans, Muria had a slight predisposition towards them.

However, Muria won’t show any favoritism towards them in this match simply because they resemble the Titans or because they possess adequate intelligence.

Firstly, resembling the Titans is solely due to the effect of the Blood of Titans, not the result of self-evolution. In the world under Titans, innumerable humanoid races that resemble humans exist. This alone can’t be a valid reason to favor them.

Secondly, as an original form similar to Gnomes, these Green-skinned Duck People were the first to develop enough intelligence and form a civilization in this world, thereby gaining the biggest advantage. One could say that in the hundred-meter race, they have already run eighty meters ahead of everyone else; the finish line is just a short distance away.

However, if they are outrun by the Superpower Beasts that have recently gained intelligence due to the Blood of Titans in the evolutionary frenzy caused by the Blood of Titans, and fall behind,

Muria will show no mercy or compassion. He will not only watch as the Superpower Beasts wipe out the local civilization but will also accelerate its demise to allow a new civilization to be born in this world changed by the Blood of Titans.

In the Void, there is no concept of good or evil, the strong live, the weak die. This is the simplest, most primitive basic Law. Unless unexpectedly, Muria doesn’t plan to defy this Law now, unless this race possesses characteristics that can touch his heart.
