Chapter 796: Chapter 785: The Blood of Titans that Changed the World Chapter 796: Chapter 785: The Blood of Titans that Changed the World The Battle Beasts, manufactured by the Epic Titan, Lord of the Wilderness, for the purpose of waging war, experienced very brief growing periods. Their lives are mainly spent in their energetic prime; they do not age. When their lifespan ends and death arrives, they collapse dead instantly. However, very few Battle Beasts are granted this fate.
Due to the rapid growth of the Battle Beasts, Muria has spent only three years hunting in his father’s world with an increasing number of Battle Beasts under his command. He watched as the ten types of Battle Beasts under his command, numbering in the thousands, laid their first batch of eggs. These eggs were naturally collected by Muria.
After Muria received these “rewards”, his playing time in his father’s world ended. It was time for his father to keep his promise to the Golden Dragon Mother to help him obtain resources, and he had to set out with them.
“Are you taking all of these Battle Beasts with you?” The Golden Dragon Mother curiously asked when Ansol opened his Semi-Plane entrance and took in ten thousand Battle Beasts that had reached maturity.
“Yes, these are enough to seize a small world.”
“No, I mean, if these Battle Beasts all die when you’re conquering the world, won’t you feel sad?”
“Sad for what? They are weapons. Dying in battle is the best destiny for them.”
For weapons, being stashed away in a corner by their master, meticulously maintained and rust wiped from their bodies, and then crumbling into dust after thousands of years, is an absolute disgrace for a weapon born for slaughter.
Only being held in the hands of their master, engaging with strong enemies, incessantly clashing with other weapons, and then shattering-that seemingly tragic end is the greatest glory and the best destiny.
“…” Upon hearing his father’s words, Muria, who initially wanted to say something when he saw the thousand Battle Beasts he raised entered his Semi-Plane, closed his mouth.
…
Soldiers wielding Light Energy Weapons marched in orderly columns and patrolled the streets. Pedestrians walked quickly, their faces displaying worry. They seemed reluctant to linger in any spot for too long.
It seemed as if stopping would bring calamity. Everything here was marked by a sense of fear and anxiety. The residents appeared to be fearful of something.
Even the sight of squad after squad of patrolling soldiers didn’t reassure the ordinary residents. Clearly, this display of easily lethal force couldn’t generate a sense of security for them.
In one ice cream shop in this street, a black-haired boy was tasting a cold and slightly sweet ice cream while flipping through a book in his hand.
Opposite him was a blonde girl who, just like him, was also holding an ice cream in one hand and flipping through a book with the other.
Next to the blonde girl was a young man who bore a striking resemblance to the black-haired boy except for his black hair and golden pupils. Instead of an ice cream, he held a knife that fluttered like a butterfly, and like the others, he also held a book. The scene looked somewhat incongruous.
“Little Muria? Have you found any valuable information from the books?”
“Well, there are plenty of valuable pieces of information for me.”
“Oh, tell me!” The blonde girl looked at the boy, who bore a resemblance to her, with motherly eyes.
“To start with, this book details the evolution process of the intelligent species of this world.” Muria opened his book and pointed to a picture in it for Golden Dragon Mother to see. It portrayed a green-skinned humanoid creature that looked somewhat like a gnome but was stronger and taller and had very visible fins and webbed hands and feet.
“Can you believe it? This aquatic species that looks somewhat like gnomes, it was the original form of the race we see now, which looks a lot like humans; and this was just three thousand years ago.”
Then, Muria pulled out several other books from a table beside him and laid them out in front of the Golden Dragon Mother,
“According to the information I’ve gathered, this change happened three thousand years ago. Due to some unknown impact, the evolutionary process of the intelligent species of this world changed tremendously. Their physical changes in the last three thousand years were more drastic than those in hundreds of thousands of previous years.”
“Over these three thousand years, their skin color continually lightened to the current white. Their average height increased from one and a half meters to three meters. Such dramatic changes are truly unbelievable. Plus, this change happened worldwide.”
“Not only did the aquatic intelligent species similar to gnomes change, all the living beings in this world evolved, becoming larger and stronger, and also more aggressive.”
Muria continued excitedly, “The native intelligent species of this world have noticed these changes, and their prevailing view is that some special substance or existence affected their evolution. This change definitely didn’t come from natural evolution.”
“Of course, the scholars in this world don’t know why their world is changing so drastically, but to me, the answer is quite obvious.”
Upon saying this, a look of awe emerged in Muria’s eyes. While he has repeatedly witnessed the grand, imposing strength of the Titans, he once again felt a sense of awe at the power of the Titans.
“Hmm, how should I put it? This sort of information indeed expands your horizon. It is almost like common knowledge to us,” Golden Dragon Mother weighed in after listening to Muria’s words. But her remarks did nothing to dampen the rising excitement within Muria.
“Father, I want to ask, what exactly have we Titans done to this world to cause such a significant deviation in the evolution of all the world’s species?” Muria turned his gaze to Ansol, his eyes brimming with curiosity.
“Muria, the worlds under the aegis of us Titans can loosely be divided into two types: one type is the fully developed worlds, and the other is the wild worlds merely marked by us.
The fully developed worlds, just like the worlds you and I were allocated by the clan, as long as we Titans enter these worlds with a certificate in hand, we can become the Son of Time, Son of Destiny. The world will favor us, and all things will tend to develop positively. It is just a matter of time before we unify these worlds.
Even for someone like you, who has already unified a world, defeating them and unifying the entire world is simply a matter of time. Even if you fail once, you will soon have a second, a third chance. The ultimate outcome has already been set.
These worlds serve the Titans – they are fully developed worlds.”
“So, is this why you refuse to help me?”
“Of course. As your father, I naturally hope that the greater the difficulties you face, the better. It means you will endure more trials and become stronger when you venture into the Void.”
“Ah, I see.” Muria interrupted his father’s spirited lecture, “So the second type of world is like ours, isn’t it?”
“Correct. The second type is precisely the world we are in now. We Titans have simply left a mark on this world without influencing its laws.
We enter these worlds and are also constrained by the world’s laws, thus unable to fully manifest our power. If we cause too much damage to the world, we will earn its disfavor and become targeted by the world.”
“Oh, I see.” Muria nodded as a question bubbled up, “What caused this large-scale evolution of creatures in this world?”
“Little Muria, this is due to the mark left by Titans in this world. Can you guess – what is this mark?”
“I don’t know.”
“A drop of blood! A drop of blood from an Epic Titan.”, answered Golden Dragon Mother with a beaming smile. “This is the mark that the Titan Tribe leaves in their world.”
“Mother, are you implying that a mutation that affected the whole world was caused by a single drop of blood?” A look of awe again spread across Muria’s face.
He originally thought that a global mutation happened because Epic Titans took action, but it was, in fact, a drop of Epic Titan blood.
To the true Epics, what would a single drop of average blood mean? If one wished to draw it, dozens of tons could be drawn easily without any underlying harm.
“What’s there to be surprised about? The world changes very slowly, and these mortal creatures have thousands of years to accommodate the transformation brought by the Blood of Titans. Everything has been moving gradually and hasn’t formed a major catastrophe.”
“Hmm!” Muria nodded. In fact, such an accelerated evolution process catalyzed by the Blood of Titans, no matter how gentle, would inevitably cause the extinction of countless species over the course of time because they couldn’t adapt to evolution that has accelerated nearly a hundredfold.
Only the fittest survive. Those that couldn’t adapt were naturally eliminated. While there were existing species unable to adapt to this accelerated evolution, new species that could adapt have naturally emerged.
The dominant green-skinned duck people were fortunate enough to stay at the top of this world. Amid this evolutionary storm, they have solidly maintained their prime position.
Of course, without a doubt, their dominance in this world had undoubtedly been shaken due to the appearance of the Blood of Titans. The Blood of Titans not only fostered them but all creatures of the world.
Moreover, the Blood of Titans didn’t help all creatures evolve equally. The closer the creatures, the faster they evolved, and the stronger they became. For the local creatures of this world, creatures that completed their evolution were undoubtedly terrifying nightmares.
Boom!
Suddenly, the street where Muria was standing began to shake violently. Faced with this sudden tremor, the pedestrians on the street didn’t panic much. They directly ran towards the entrance of the nearest shelter, showing an exceptional level of skill…
