King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 714 - 714 706 If I Become an Epic in Future Years
Chapter 714: Chapter 706: If I Become an Epic in Future Years Chapter 714: Chapter 706: If I Become an Epic in Future Years “The Cloud Island now is indeed much more beautiful than what I had at the beginning.” The Wind King Hawk had to admit, the current Cloud Island was indeed much more beautiful than when it first started collecting, but just because it’s beautiful doesn’t mean that these actions were right.
After all, this was a transformation that took place without his permission. Muria suddenly came along and occupied its Cloud Island under the pretext of making it ‘better’. Who could stand such a thing?
“But, did you get my agreement for these changes?”
“Weren’t you in deep sleep at that time?” Muria grinned, “How could I possibly wake you up for such a small matter?”
“You must have put a lot of thought into building these Cloud Islands!” The Wind King Hawk gazed at Muria and asked.
“…” Muria was silent for a while. He couldn’t figure out why the Wind King Hawk suddenly asked this question, so he simply told the truth, “Yes, I put a lot of thought into it. My entire life’s effort is on these.”
“But you need to understand one thing, Titan and Dragon’s offspring, all these islands are mine. All your buildings are illegal constructions. You didn’t have my permission, I have the right to demolish them.”
“So what?” The Nine Divine Weapons inside Muria vibrated slightly. If he couldn’t reason with it, he would have to resort to force, even though he basically couldn’t overtake the Wind King Hawk. But anyhow, he wanted to keep the current buildings.
“What is your goal?” The Wind King Hawk suddenly changed the topic and asked a seemingly irrelevant question, “What is your greatest pursuit at this stage?”
“Of course it’s to accomplish the Epics!” Muria replied without hesitation, this was a goal he had set long ago.
“If that’s the case, then, I will rent my Cloud island to you for a thousand years. If you return from Void after a thousand years, all the ownership of the Cloud and islands would be yours.” The Wind King Hawk said lightly, “What do you think?”
“What do I need to give in return?” Muria knew that there were no free lunches in the world, so he was very calm now, not swayed by the sudden good news.
“You don’t need to give anything, at least you don’t need to give anything now.”
“I don’t believe there could be such a great deal in the world.” Muria remained very calm, however, his increasingly frequent heartbeat and flushed face revealed his true feelings.
“What do you think you can offer me?” The Wind King Hawk asked mercilessly, not giving Muria any sympathy. “You don’t have anything valuable to me.”
“Since you are willing to rent the Cloud island to me for a thousand years, you must have something you want. There must be something you need from me. If I don’t have it now, then my future self must have it.”
“Titan and dragon’s offspring, do you know how long I will live? Do you know how long I’ve lived?”
The Wind King Hawk completely ignored Muria’s analysis and asked his own questions, seemingly talking to himself.
“I don’t know.” Muria wouldn’t venture to guess how long a being with the bloodline of a Legendary Beast had lived. If his memory served him right, these beings simply did not die; they existed in perpetuity with world.
“I can’t quite remember myself either. The last time I tried to figure out how old I was, I believe I was thirty thousand years old. But as time passed, I got lazy and stopped keeping track.” The Wind King Hawk said to himself.
“My ancestors suppressed the chaos of the world, contributed to the world, so we, their descendants, have received the world’s favor from the day we were born. We have endless lifespans, no matter what we do, our power can grow to the world’s limit. We can even maintain the Rules that only deities can master. Within this world, we are invincible, nobody would dare to provoke us.”
Speaking these, there was not a hint of pride in the eyes of Wind King Hawk, “As the Wind King Hawk, I have the fastest speed in the world, but even if my speed is fast, I can’t fly out of the world. Void to me is just a mere term. It’s an unreachable existence.”
“The favors we received from the world are too many, so when we truly grow up, we can no longer leave this world.”
“…” Muria was speechless, he didn’t know what to say. An infinitely powerful being with an endless lifespan and the world’s fastest speed, yet confined to one world—it was indeed cruel. No matter how vast the world, to the Wind King Hawk, it was still merely a cage.
“For tens of thousands of years, I have been visiting every corner of the world, I am tired of it. I want to go to the Void.” The Wind King Hawk stared at Muria and said word by word.
“I don’t think I can help with that for now.” Muria let out a dry laugh, surmising what the giant beast wanted his help with. But digging into the corner of the world… that was a bit challenging!
“I want you to make a promise, a promise that can be realized after you advance to the level of Epics.” The Wind King Hawk stared at Muria, “As long as you make this promise, I will return to my sleep and won’t interfere with whatever you’re doing. Everything will revert to its original state, and if anyone dares to offend you, I will help protect these Cloud Islands.”
“Phew!” Muria let out a heavy sigh, then seriously looked at the Wind King Hawk. Having taken advantage of him for this long, and given that the existing figure had just helped him repel a powerful enemy, it was time for him to give something back.
“In the years to come, if I succeed in advancing to the level of Epics, I will sever all the ties binding you to this world.”
Thunder rumbled, and in the sky above Xina Pus, innumerable thunderbolts suddenly erupted from the Void, striking the puzzle lock of Xena Pus, shaking it violently.
However, after an unkempt elderly man on the upper Cloud Island looked up at the sky, then reached out and took a swipe at the Void, all the thunder and lightning disappeared, and the air around Xena Pus became much fresher, with the Death Qi containing Grey Fog all being annihilated.
“I will go back to sleep now.” Seeing such sensible Muria, the Wind King Hawk nodded without saying anything, and jumped off the Crystal Throne, heading underground to the castle.
Muria followed him. When they reached the underground, Muria was dumbfounded to see a radiant crystal egg standing there, a barely noticeable crack having formed on top of the egg.
Under Muria’s stunned gaze, the Wind King Hawk beside him suddenly disintegrated, turning into a breeze, then merging into the crack in the crystal egg shell. The Wind King Eagle Egg immediately reverted to the appearance it originally had when he had first seen.
“The real body of this guy didn’t come out at all, did it? What I saw in front of me was just an Avatar, I can’t believe I didn’t notice it.” Upon seeing this, Muria realized what he had been talking to and making a promise with.
“How cunning, worthy of a super monster that has lived for tens of thousands of years,” Muria silently complained in his heart as he looked at the continued slumber of the Wind King Hawk, then he started walking up toward the castle.
His Mental power spread infinitely, and he could see the scene outside the castle. All the giants were waking up and the hurricane clouds surrounding the Cloud Island were beginning to dissipate.
“This Wind King Hawk really is…” Muria thought about the half-coercive, half-inducing promise that the Wind King Hawk made him swear, and his mouth twitched a bit. The seemingly best conditions were all actually benefiting the Wind King Hawk, who wouldn’t lose out regardless of the situation.
The Wind King Hawk was completely looking at the premise that Muria could potentially achieve the rank of Epics, and was willing to lend the Cloud Island to Muria for use, expressing that if he became an Epic, all of the Cloud Island would be given to him. In return, he would sever the bindings of the world for the Wind King Hawk once he returned, allowing it to go to the Void.
For a monster like the Wind King Hawk, which has lived for tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of years, Cloud Island was merely a toy it collected when it was bored. It basically didn’t matter at all.
Moreover, all of this is based on the assumption that Muria successfully becomes an Epic. If Muria fails and his soul is buried in the void, of course, there wouldn’t be much left to say.
The Wind King Hawk was just waiting for a thousand years, then it could take back Cloud Island. Everything belonged to it, yet it could even obtain a better-constructed Cloud Island.
“What would have happened if I hadn’t made that promise?” Looking at Xena Pus that seemed to be returning to its original state, Muria fell into thought. The stance that the Wind King Hawk showed him doesn’t seem like it was fooling around with him. If he didn’t agree, the Wind King Hawk might not resort to hands-on tactics considering his background, but it would still wipe out everything that he had built.
“It seems like I’m on the losing end?” Muria laughed, thinking about it was a bit vexing, especially since he was being calculated step by step.
“But what if I continue to grow stronger, even becoming an Epic without failing?” Muria looked back at the castle, seeming to be able to see through the wall, to the huge eagle that was sleeping under the Wind King’s Castle.
“Your existence is only safeguarding me, everything belongs to me.” Muria narrowed his eyes, what if he returned as an Epic after hundreds of years, and paid a certain price to sever the bindings of the world for the Wind King Hawk? And then?
The Wind King Hawk would head towards the endless Void, but would it be able to roam freely? Apparently not, so it would have to follow a more potent existence, as a guide.
So, who would it follow? Obviously, it could only follow the Epic who had redeemed it, venturing into the Void together.
“As long as I keep getting stronger, everything will belong to me.” Muria stood on the edge of the castle, looking down at the Obisto continent covered in the plague of the Undead Cataclysm, his eyes revealing an unprecedented firmness. He would not be calculated by a giant eagle.
