King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 713 - 713 705 Wheres Your Face
Chapter 713: Chapter 705: Where’s Your Face? Chapter 713: Chapter 705: Where’s Your Face? “West Snapes!” The moment the mystery lock of West Snapes was torn open, Muria knew it. As West Snapes’ completion rate not only improved, but Muria’s control over West Snapes also kept increasing.
By now, when the outer defense of West Snapes was breached, Muria sensed it almost immediately. Hence, Muria, who was currently sweeping away the Undead on the western region of the Obistro Continent and assisting humans in resisting the Skeleton Tide, quickly tore through the space to rush towards the area of West Snapes.
However, when Muria returned to West Snapes, he didn’t see any enemies. Instead, all he saw was a corner of West Snapes exposed to the outside world.
And the four cloud islands were emitting black smoke and teetering on the verge of collapse. Seeing this sight, Muria’s face instantly darkened. He treasured every cloud island as if they were his own precious jewels, but now four of them had been destroyed. “What happened? Who attacked West Snapes? Where are they now?”
“My Lord, the ship controlled by the attacker is identical to the ghost ship you brought back.” As Muria was filled with rage, the Dragonkin girl came up to him and reported who had made the sudden attack on West Snapes.
“Barbosa!” Upon hearing that the attack had come from a fully-organized ghost ship, Muria knew without questioning that it had definitely been that Ghost Captain who had attacked him. Only he would dare to risk offending both the Titans and the Golden Dragons by attacking him.
“How much damage has he caused me?” After realizing who his enemy was, Muria calmed down and asked the question he was currently most concerned about.
“Four cloud islands were breached in this wave of surprise attacks. Almost all the humans living on them were annihilated, and twenty-seven of the Giants guarding them also fell. Almost all the basic infrastructure on the cloud islands was ruined. Also, the spatial mystery lock in this area was broken…”
“That’s it?” Hearing that only tens of thousands of human prisoners and several dozens of Giants had been killed, and that merely four cloud islands had been breached, a look of surprise appeared on Muria’s face – the damage was much less than he had anticipated.
“Is anything else missing?” Muria asked further.
“We haven’t found anything that has been stolen yet. After the ghost fleet made a wave of surprise attacks on us, they immediately retreated.” Mia looked at Muria, a hesitant expression on her face, as she recalled the strange happenings on Central Cloud Island.
“This isn’t right!” A look of confusion crossed Muria’s face. As a Lich at the pinnacle of legend, Barbosa should have discovered his lair. It wasn’t logical that he would only destroy such a small area before retreating. Worried about him? Nonsense.
Theoretically, West Snapes had no way of resisting the invasion of a Great Lich of Legends at this time. Therefore, what could it be that was causing the Lich to hold back, that allowed West Snapes to dodge this mishap? Muria sank into deep thought. He pondered over what could make a Great Lich at the pinnacle of Legends fearful and thus decide to retreat.
“Your Majesty, about that…” Eventually, Mia mustered up the courage to speak after her hesitation, “There were some odd occurrences on Central Cloud Island. After we were attacked, Central Cloud Island suddenly got wrapped up by a whirlwind. We have no idea what’s going on inside, and all the Giant Legion stationed there had lost contact with us.”
“…” Muria, whose mind had just been filled with the image of a White Feathered Giant Eagle, fell silent. He probably had an idea why the Great Lich had suddenly retreated – the true owner of the cloud island had awoken.
“You all handle these cloud islands and fix the mystery lock as soon as possible. Then we should relocate.” After giving his instructions, Muria flew towards that grand Central Cloud Island above his head. He flew slowly, hesitation in his eyes, seeming a bit insecure.
As he flew past each cloud island, upon finally seeing Central Cloud Island, it was indeed as Mia had mentioned. At the moment, Central Cloud Island had been entirely encompassed by an enormous white Hurricane Group, turning it into a vast globe of wind. They couldn’t see clearly what the situation was inside, nor could they sense any information.
“Damn that Barbosa.” Seeing the state of Cloud Island, Muria knew very well what had transpired in Central Cloud Island. An entity that should have been slumbering for hundreds of years had prematurely awakened.
“Whether it’s a blessing or a curse, it can’t be avoided,” thought Muria. He surveyed the already developed Cloud Island and taking a deep breath, his wings spread open and he plunged into the hurricane. The terrifying hurricane didn’t stop Muria, he entered it rather smoothly.
As soon as he entered, Muria looked towards the Wind King Castle. He saw all the giants who were originally stationed in the Wind King Castle unconscious on the ground.
Of course, this wasn’t the most crucial part. Muria’s gaze shifted to the southeast of Cloud Island, where a pair of twin towers reaching a kilometer high stood majestically. This was the portal to the Mini World Cluster of Solos he had conquered in the Void. This was now the resource supply site for Xena Pus, the core architecture that absolutely could not be lost.
Seeing that the portal was unharmed, Muria let out a sigh of relief. He then turned his gaze to the white castle, a solemn look appearing in his eyes. Regardless of the situation, what he’d done was somewhat underhanded, but what’s done is done. Muria landed on the ground and walked towards the Wind King Castle with heavy steps.
Wind wailed, and the river was cold; the gallant ones once gone, never return.
As he walked towards the Wind King Castle that he had built for his organization, Muria inexplicably thought of this timeless verse from his previous world. An adult Wind King Hawk could undoubtedly grind him into the ground, and he had no way to resist.
Entering the castle and arriving in the Council Hall, Muria saw a miniature version of the White Feather Giant Eagle lounging lazily on his old crystal throne. As Muria walked in, the majestic giant eagle slightly tilted its head, opening a sliver of its eye, a blue light spilled out and filled the hall with an intimidating aura.
“The Wind King Eagle truly has awakened!” Seeing the lounging giant eagle, Muria’s sliver of hope dissolves instantly. Inexplicably, his tongue tasted slightly bitter.
But he did not regret entering the Wind King Castle. He had left too many resources on Central Cloud Island. The Star Gate, which linked to a different world, was just one amongst them. He couldn’t abandon these and escape on his own. Most of the lifework he had devoted hundreds of years to was invested in Xena Pus.
“It woke up too early!” Seeing the Wind King Eagle that had opened its eyes and was sizing him up, Muria felt an intense hatred for the legendary Great Lich that had awakened Barbosa.
Normally, the Wind King Eagle would have awakened centuries later, at which point Muria was confident he could ascend to the Legendary Peak. By then, even if the Wind King Eagle awakened, he could have shown it the power of a legendary Titan’s fist. But now, the Wind King Eagle could show him just how sharp its claws were.
“Ahem, Brother Eagle, you’re awake?” After a moment of silence, it was Muria who broke the ice, putting on a thick-skinned face, “How has your sleep been? Comfortable? Have you seen this castle? I specially built it to prevent others from disturbing you. I even deployed a Cloud Giant Legion to guard the surroundings to avoid any disturbance to your slumber.”
Upon hearing Muria’s words, the Wind King Eagle looked slightly astonished. Then its majestic blue eyes narrowed, sizing up the seemingly ready-to-escape Muria. Then it spoke,
“I’ve never seen a Titan as shameless as you. You took my Cloud Island, buried me beneath your castle, and you say it’s to protect me? Where’s your dignity?”
“I didn’t do anything to you, Brother Eagle,” interrupted Muria with a dry cough, forcing himself to explain, “Don’t make it sound so awful. I didn’t really take your Cloud Island. It’s just that having them empty made me uncomfortable, and I couldn’t help bringing my subordinates to live there and build things. Now the islands are beautifully managed, much better looking than before.”
