Chapter 1343 - 1343 1328 Invitation to the Gods Conference
Chapter 1343: Chapter 1328: Invitation to the Gods’ Conference Chapter 1343: Chapter 1328: Invitation to the Gods’ Conference “This is under the command of Lord Mureya.”
After Yingdila disappeared, Cynthia’s smile on her face became soft and natural again. She smiled and explained to the two deities, then revealed information laden with great significance,
“The origin of His Majesty is still unclear to this day; it is only known that He was found in the Void beyond the world by Lord Mureya’s grandfather and then given as a gift to His Majesty.”
And just as Cynthia had anticipated, her words immediately shocked these two minor gods with only inferior divine power; a grandfather, a gift, what were these? A family of divine beings?
Afterward, during their visit to Xena Pus, the two deities’ minds and attention were all scattered onto Mureya’s background. For them, Mureya himself was already an untouchable and powerful existence that could only be looked up to. But such an existence actually had a background, which was simply frightening to contemplate.
Therefore, naturally, the two deities began to harbor thoughts of seeking to align themselves with Mureya for protection. The current situation was too dangerous for weak deities like them; one careless mistake could result in being killed and having everything taken away.
However, with the idea of aligning themselves, the two deities were clear not to state it directly. To align with someone required strategy and skill; being too direct could result in being taken lightly.
“Lord Mureya’s foundation is truly profound. If a proxy war were to take place, even those with powerful divine forces might not be able to surpass Lord Mureya.”
While visiting Xena Pus, the two divine beings inevitably saw the residing giant army and the dragon army. Then, one of the half-human half-deer deities sincerely praised and then seemed to inadvertently inquire,
“However, we have not seen any subordinate gods of Lord Mureya. Are They all out on some errand?”
“Lord Mureya does not have any subordinate gods at the moment.” Cynthia, unaware that Mureya had already subjugated a deity, truthfully responded, able to see the obvious hints from these two deities.
“Ah! How can Lord Mureya, so powerful, not have any subordinate gods?” The charming god, seductive and enticing in appearance, exclaimed in surprise, a small thrill of pleasure in her heart. This was undoubtedly good news.
“His Majesty has not had the Divine Consecration for long, which is why there are no subordinate gods yet.” Cynthia explained, dispelling any doubts the two gods had. This indirectly told them that Mureya was not opposed to having subordinate gods; His current status as a lone god was simply due to the short time since His ascension.
“Short time since divine ascension?” The two deities exchanged glances; such a reason was somewhat unexpected.
Three days later, after visiting Xena Pus and its surrounding vibrant domain, Cynthia brought the two thoughtful deities once again before Mureya.
Then the two deities, who had already considered aligning with Mureya, were surprised and annoyed to discover that standing beside this powerful deity was an elegant goddess with an impressive presence; at this moment, the goddess with six pairs of sacred wings stood shoulder to shoulder with Him, looking down at them.
“How do you find the domain I rule?” Mureya asked kindly. In his eyes, these two deities were His future subordinate gods, reserved by him.
Of course, unlike the Sand Lord, they did not possess any divinity appealing to Mureya, so he planned to use them as a facade for himself.
“Lord Mureya, the domain you govern is richer than the one we govern with the Sand Lord combined. I have never seen a better domain than this.”
The two deities delivered compliments very cooperatively, and of course, it wouldn’t be fair to say these were purely flattery; about half of it came from a sincere admiration.
“Hmm, what are your thoughts on the current situation?” Mureya unceremoniously picked up on the compliments from the two deities and then abruptly steered the topic in another unrelated direction.
“Lord Mureya, what do you refer to?” The Charming God stood straight, carefully asking. Under the gaze of the goddess beside Mureya, she felt somewhat shabby. Although she was confident her appearance was not inferior to that of the goddess, she felt thoroughly overshadowed in terms of aura.
“Don’t you think that survival has become the primary concern for you in the current situation?”
Mureya got straight to the point. With absolute military power in his control, he truly had no desire to engage in any convoluted schemes or tricks; there was no need.
“An alliance between three minor gods with inferior divine power doesn’t carry much deterrence, at least not for a deity like myself.”
“You’re right.” Although Mureya’s words were harsh, the two deities had to lower their heads and agree because it was the truth. However, along with their embarrassment, there emerged a glimmer of joy in their hearts.
“So, are you interested in following me and becoming my subordinate gods? I can’t promise too much, but I can assure you that I will be able to protect my subordinate gods and ensure their survival in the current chaos.”
Mureya stated his purpose directly and then waited calmly for the response of the two goddesses.
Upon hearing Mureya’s sudden invitation, the two goddesses exchanged a glance, seeing the excitement in each other’s eyes, and then they saw the determination as well.
“We are willing!”
The natural response; regardless of the factors considered, when a deity capable of intruding into a divine kingdom of intermediate divine strength and emerging unscathed invited them, two deities with only inferior divine power, to join Him—especially when they wished to continue surviving—this was the only answer.
“It’s about time to get ready!”
After watching the two goddesses with whom he had formally established a master-servant relationship depart, Muria murmured softly to himself, turning to look at Michaela beside him, who had been silent from the beginning to the end and who now held the [Light] Divinity as the Goddess of Light.
As a deity transformed from an epic, Michaela wasn’t limited to just the [Light] divinity. It was merely her primary divinity; she had other, less useful ones like [Courage], [Fearlessness], and [Sovereignty].
“Prepare what?” Despite Muria’s discouragement, Michaela, who had been promoted to deity, spoke up to inquire.
“Divine battle!” Muria replied.
“Haven’t you already fought one?” Michaela had already learned about the things Muria did following his deification, which weren’t many.
“That was merely a warm-up, not a true divine battle. My targets are two divine systems.” Muria said. Knowing that this might sound somewhat horrifying, he added, “They are both divine systems without a Powerful Divine Force in place, and furthermore, these two systems are adversaries of each other.”
“Why do you suddenly want to target these two divine systems? Did they provoke you?”
“Not really, but they did provoke my student.” Muria stroked his chin.
“Student?”
“Yes, one might call him the child of destiny in this world?” Muria said uncertainly as he recounted briefly to his wife how he had accepted Jiuli as his student and how this bold student had risen to deity status and what he did afterward.
“If that’s the case, then you’re being quite irresponsible! Your student has seized the domains of other deities, and you, as his teacher, not only fail to admonish him but plan instead to eliminate those deities.”
“Admonish him on what? Tell him not to seize the faith of other deities at will?”
Muria chuckled, “Michaela, you now need to change your way of thinking. We’re no longer epics without constraints, freely roaming the Void. We are deities who hold power over the world. Until a unified Divine Court emerges, any god can be your enemy.”
“The struggle for divinity, the struggle for faith… I understand.” As a descendant of divine beings, Michaela understood deities better than Muria. She was well aware of the cruel nature of interactions among deities—it’s a pure power struggle, a cruel fight to the death.
“Take me for example; having delved into eighteen Powerful Divinities, one could say I have offended the vast majority of deities in this world. And the reason? Simply because I’ve stepped into the domains they control.”
“I’m the same,” Michaela stretched out her palm, with pure white strength manifesting in her hand, “I too have a host of divine enemies.”
“So as long as you have the strength and a suitable excuse, then starting a battle is the correct move. To eliminate more than half of the gods, consolidating divine power, and becoming the sovereign is just a matter of time.”
“Mmm.” Michaela nodded in agreement.
Just as Muria was discussing with his family about how to start a divine war, an unexpected invitation arrived, interrupting Muria’s plan and making him decide to watch and wait.
…
“My Lord, I have come on behalf of the great Azure Master, the King of Mountains, the Sun God, three grand Majesties, to extend an invitation for you to attend the assembly of gods in a year’s time,”
The Divine Descendant atop the Divine Bird stood in Muria’s Divine Palace, presenting his respects neither haughtily nor humbly, then delivered an invitation that took Muria completely by surprise.
“Hmm, I will attend,” replied Muria as he took the invitation from the Divine Descendant, sensing the three faint yet pressure-inducing Divine Might attached to it, his brow furrowed ever so slightly before he responded.
“Please ensure you arrive on time for the event, as missing it could cause irreplaceable losses to you,” informed the Divine Descendant, sounding both as a reminder and a warning to Muria, before taking his leave.
“This fellow, he seems rather arrogant,” Tiffany, who stood by, chipped in with dissatisfaction as she watched the Divine Descendant leave on the Divine Bird.
“The offspring of a Powerful Divine Force facing an Intermediate Divine Strength would naturally have that kind of attitude,” Muria stated indifferently, after all, the Divine Descendant had not shown any disrespect.
“What’s there to be proud of, Father, you may be just an Intermediate Divine Strength now, but you’re not at all inferior when fighting a Powerful Divine Force,”
“You know my information, so you can make the right assessment, but those deities don’t see it that way,” Muria retorted.
