Chapter 1342 - 1342 1327 Monster that Devours Gods
Chapter 1342: Chapter 1327 Monster that Devours Gods Chapter 1342: Chapter 1327 Monster that Devours Gods “White Dragon Clodia, later, two Deities will be visiting Xena Pus; Lady Cynthia is currently accompanying them,” reported a dragon within an icy palace, its form light and elegant, unlike the foolish and clumsy kin on the Erathia Continent, as it bowed its head to the dragon perched on the Frost Throne.
“Hmm, I understand,” Clodia nodded after hearing this, flicking her tail that resembled an ice blade. “You may go! Spread this news as far as possible.”
“Uh, Your Majesty, shouldn’t this be kept secret?” the white dragon, whose body was lightly covered with a layer of frost, asked.
“No need. What purpose does secrecy serve in such a matter? When Divine Beings pass through and do not deliberately restrain themselves, anyone who isn’t a fool can feel their Divine Might,” she responded.
“Understood.”
“Accompanied by Cynthia, these Divine Beings?” After her subordinate had left, Clodia, who hadn’t received any explicit orders, began to ponder what she should do.
“Local deities, actually able to come here. That means they have some connection with Muria but aren’t particularly close. Hmm, is Muria trying to subdue them, to establish a Divine System?
Since that is the case, what I need to do is to showcase my foundation as much as possible, to deter the two Deities and make whatever Muria wants to do afterward easier.”
Securing her position and aligning herself with Muria, planning strategies for Muria, pursuing benefits, Clodia found nothing improper about it.
This was the price she needed to pay to achieve the transcendent status she sought. There’s no such thing as a free lunch; to obtain better, a price must be paid.
“But just by myself, I lack the ability to intimidate Deities. I might not even be able to defeat those fellows now, right?”
Clodia thought somewhat mockingly. Among the one hundred and one Giant Dragons initially domesticated by Muria, only she had refused the divine power refinement, a great opportunity in the eyes of the other dragons.
Even now, she was merely a “normal,” “mortal” dragon, ranking at the very bottom of Xena Pus’s current top combat strength, at least, that was how Clodia viewed herself.
But in reality, in Muria’s eyes, White Dragon Clodia, the most talented and gifted among the dragons he had raised, was the creature closest to godhood and possessed the qualifications to create the legendary ‘God Killing’ saga that could be passed down for tens of thousands of years.
“It seems I need to talk to that Monster, to intimidate Deities, only by involving her will it be possible,” Clodia naturally thought.
In Xena Pus, this Monster could be considered a taboo presence; even Clodia could not help but be filled with fear when she thought of this being.
“Who knows how far that Monster will grow if unleashed in this world?”
Clodia thought about that existence whose name she didn’t even want to mention, shaking her head. “But this isn’t something I should worry about; even if Muria can’t control that Monster, the ancient relics of the Titan Tribe would naturally intervene.
As long as that Monster isn’t dominated by its innate instincts and retains its wits, it should obediently comply,” she reasoned.
…
“Ladies, look, that is Xena Pus, the place where Lord Muria rose,”
With basic respect for the Deities, a restrained yet slightly proud Cynthia introduced the two goddesses to the colossal, mobile expanse that hung in the sky, naturally drawing the goddesses’ cooperative admiration and curiosity.
“Please follow me…” After a brief introduction, Cynthia led the two goddesses toward Xena Pus.
To tell the truth, Cynthia could only comply with the literal orders of Muria. The deeper implications hidden within these orders were beyond her comprehension and execution.
So, as a dedicated Dragon Tour Guide, she just needed to do her job without making any mistakes, and then she wouldn’t be responsible for anything.
She aimed neither for merit nor faults. This was her current mindset, though she knew it didn’t do justice to the gift Muria had bestowed upon her. Given her current situation, hoping for further advancement seemed incredibly slim, but it was possible she could lose everything she had now due to a single error.
“Mmm.”
“Good, I’m very curious about what Lord Muria’s residence looks like,” said the two goddesses who had come under the pressure of Muria, cooperating exceptionally well with Cynthia to give her face. They even started following orders from Muria, not because they felt subdued but just to survive.
“Who are you?” Cynthia had just brought the two goddesses onto one of Xena Pus’s floating cities when she heard a question. It was from the Red Dragon, who had just transformed into a God Dragon and wanted to question them when she suddenly noticed the presence of the questioner, and her previously calm expression changed immediately.
“Yingdila, His Majesty!”
“I don’t recognize you with these unfamiliar auras,” said a little girl with black hair and golden pupils, eyeing the two goddesses apathetically, showing no reverence to the deities. Instead, she looked like a gourmet picking out ingredients.
“But you look quite tasty,” the girl tilted her head and smiled slightly, looking exceptionally cute, but the two goddesses being stared at didn’t find her cute at all—they felt a chill in their hearts and a hint of fear.
It wasn’t just the two goddesses; Cynthia, acting as their guide, also watched the suddenly appearing girl with a stiff expression. A red dragon shadow loomed behind her, barely visible; the overwhelming sensation of possibly turning back into her true form and becoming food was terrifying.
But fortunately, she controlled her instinct to revert to her true form, suppressed the urge, and forced a smile, calling out again, “Yingdila, His Majesty!”
But Yingdila, whose mouth corners were already dripping with drool, paid no attention to Tiffany’s call. She was lost in her thoughts, murmuring,
“Muria said, ‘Don’t eat our own, but you can devour enemies at will.’ Unfamiliar auras suddenly appearing in Xena Pus must be enemies, which means I can devour them at will.”
Finding a reason to feast, Yingdila opened her mouth, and a shallow divine light erupted from the bodies of the two targeted Divine Beings, rapidly spreading and covering Xena Pus.
The Divine Might that burst out due to the crisis was obviously plummeting crazily because the Divine Beings manifesting these powers were under an unprecedented attack.
The divine light that blossomed from them was like a piece of infinitely tempting cake being savagely nibbled by several invisible Abyssal mouths, missing a chunk here and lacking a part there, turning the formerly peaceful Xena Pus into something incredibly terrifying.
“Yingdila, His Majesty, these are guests invited by Lord Mureya; you cannot eat them.”
Even though she knew the Divine Beings were holding back and had not unleashed their full power, Cynthia still found the scene incredibly absurd. Nevertheless, she didn’t forget her current duty; she was a “tour guide” after all. If even the guests were eaten by the “attraction” creature on site, she wouldn’t have any role to play.
“Ah—”
With a sound of regretful sigh, the strange atmosphere once enveloping Xena Pus suddenly dissipated, and the “mouths” around the two Divine Beings disappeared simultaneously,
“So they are Muria’s guests, huh? You should have said so earlier,” Yingdila said, looking at Cynthia with a mildly amused expression as though to express an apology for her actions, though Cynthia could sense the dissatisfaction,
Why didn’t you tell me later? I wasn’t full yet!
But what really relieved Cynthia was that this creature, bold enough to dare to devour Divine Beings, didn’t linger around her any longer and just left.
“Miss Cynthia, who was that?”
The Charming God with fluffy ears on both sides of his forehead, still shaken, then asked Cynthia tentatively.
