Chapter 1333 - 1333 1318 The Lion Among the Flock of Sheep

Chapter 1333: Chapter 1318: The Lion Among the Flock of Sheep Chapter 1333: Chapter 1318: The Lion Among the Flock of Sheep “But these are just mortal things. You’ve already destroyed my Subordinate God’s avatar, and you still pursue me—it’s excessive, isn’t it?”

Red Divine Light descended from the heavens, coalescing in front of Muria into a Divine Incarnation roughly in human form, as Divine Might spread out like an ocean.

“Hmm?” Muria looked at the Divine Incarnation blocking his path, already aware of its identity, for he had been able to gather that much intelligence before making his move.

But knowing was one thing, and following necessary protocols another, so,

“Oh, a Subordinate God? Are you the chief deity who violated my protected race? What’s your purpose in stopping me? Are you here to stand up for your subordinate?”

A fierce killing intent soared into the sky, and the Prison-suppression halberd, soaked in the blood of epics, appeared in Muria’s hand, expressing his attitude in a different manner.

This sort of violent killing intent was, indeed, a bit too much for a deity, and thus it frightened many Divine Incarnations who had come through the Domain Gate to watch the spectacle.

“What is the background of this great god? Even if he has taken control of the sun deity, he shouldn’t have such violent killing intent. Does he also possess a divinity related to war or slaughter?”

“Chances are quite high with this kind of aura.”

“I get the feeling he’s killed deities!”

“Be confident, and remove ‘I get the feeling.’ This great god has definitely slain real deities; otherwise, he wouldn’t harbor such killing intent.”

In comparison to epics, the lives of Divine Beings were indeed a bit too peaceful and comfortable. This was especially true for certain deities who held domains like [Love] and [Art], which were more like fillers.

At this moment, the deity blocking Muria was also startled by the killing intent Muria displayed, but as a deity of Intermediate Divine Strength who had fought for a higher position, he didn’t show any strangeness and seemed rather composed.

“I am his chief deity! Naturally, I have the duty to protect him. If you still intend to trouble my subordinate, then you are declaring war on me and making an enemy out of me.”

Though the chief deity spoke with utmost firmness, in the next moment, his tone softened a bit. He also didn’t want to be on bad terms with Muria, who was clearly not a being to be trifled with,

“Of course, if my subordinate has offended your protected race, and if you are willing to accept it, I am willing to offer compensation on his behalf!”

“I do not accept,” Muria responded coldly. He had come to cause trouble in the first place, so why would he settle the conflict so easily?

“Offending my dignity demands a blood price, not everything can be compensated for.”

Muria’s voice echoed in the sky like thunder, and along with that authoritative sound, a blade-like attack that seemed to tear through the sky was aimed at the being blocking his path.

“You…” The bird-headed human-bodied being, upon seeing Muria swinging the halberd toward him, felt a mix of shock and anger. Such was the contempt he had for him that he swung his weapon with such reckless disregard.

Unfortunately for him, anger could not be converted into strength, so the Divine Incarnation burning with red flames barely managed to block the first strike from Muria’s halberd, and when the second strike descended, the deity’s strange, yet not ugly, but rather sacred and majestic avatar was shattered.

“This is my territory!” Before being destroyed, the Divine Incarnation seemed to offer a reminder, yet in reality, it was more of a threat, leaving behind one final message.

“Hah!” In the face of such danger, Muria naturally didn’t give it a second thought.

Deities born from epics might not defeat those of the same rank, but they weren’t far behind. One could tell by looking at two of the most famous Dragon Gods in Erathia—there were some with Powerful Divine Force who couldn’t even match up to these two Dragons.

For deities, reputation was very important. And in some respects, reputation could also reflect the strength of a Divine Being. Both the Platinum Dragon God Bahamut and the Mother of Evil Dragons Tiamat were formidable characters who didn’t fall short of beings with Powerful Divine Force.

If not for the fact that all the divine positions in the Erathia World had been taken, there would be no problem for these two deities to become beings with Powerful Divine Force. Unfortunately, their paths were blocked, with no way forward. The world is only so big; for anyone to ascend further, some god would have to fall from their place. This is the dilemma after the peak of divine prosperity. Unless the world ascends, and the cake grows bigger.

With various thoughts flashing through his mind, Muria glanced at the Divine Incarnations that had followed him, ignoring them as if they were invisible. All of these divine-level bystanders were within his expectations, and everything he had done today required these bystanders to spread the word for him.

A strong and possessive deity who offers protection is the first choice for followers among the weaker deities seeking shelter. If he could achieve such a reputation from this, then it would be a profitable venture indeed.

Reflecting on these matters, Muria continued the task at hand as the Golden Light Path stretched further into this unfamiliar domain. It then forcibly pierced through the barrier of a Deity’s Divine Kingdom, shooting inward followed by a scream of terror echoing from within.

Splash!

When Muria stepped into the Divine Kingdom, which felt a bit cramped, a fishy and damp breeze hit his face—it carried the scent of the sea, the undulating waves, and the sounds of water incessantly flowing.

As He breached the realm, the azure sea before Him suddenly transformed. Surging sea tides rose tens of thousands of meters high into a curtain spanning from heaven to earth, crashing towards Muria.

“Not bad,”

Muria uttered a word of praise at the sight of this magnificent attack. For a Deity with weak Divine Power, it would be impossible to conjure such massive sea waves in the outside world. Only within their own Divine Kingdom could they unleash an attack worthy of their authority.

But that was all it amounted to. Muria lifted his Prison-suppression halberd and with a gentle sweep, the enormous tsunami that made the entire Divine Kingdom tremble split in two before Him, collapsing into a deluge of staggering force, causing incessant turmoil in this sea-dominated Divine Kingdom.

“How can this be?”

The bald, kappa-like Void Singing God at the heart of the Divine Kingdom watched in disbelief as the attack He had mustered with all His strength was so easily neutralized.

“Even a supreme god couldn’t…” The panic and fear following the effortless dissolution of His full-force attack, mixed with a tinge of reluctance, led the Void Singing God to launch another terrain-advantaged assault based on His Divine Kingdom.

Under the pale blue Sky Dome of the Divine Kingdom, chains of Order and Law wove through the air, then stretched towards Muria, attempting to bind this uninvited guest who had forcefully entered the Divine Kingdom.

At this moment, Muria also felt the Divine Kingdom’s repulsion toward Him. This aversion stemmed not only from the will of the kingdom’s owner but also from the Divine Kingdom itself.

For in terms of sheer size, He was more substantial than the Void Singing God and the created Divine Kingdom combined. In other words, His existence was an unbearable weight for the Void Singing God’s Divine Kingdom.

In other words, right here and now, unless Muria Himself willed it, nothing could shake Him. Thus, when Muria waved His halberd to sever the chains of Order and looked towards the central Void Singing God — still trembling at the unexpected disaster that had befallen Him — the minor god trembled once again.

“Don’t!” In terms of appearance, the Void Singing God, naturally suited to be a minor monster, panicked even more upon realizing Muria had discovered His true form.

At that moment, He contemplated the shameful thought of abandoning His Divine Kingdom and seeking refuge with His supreme god. However, He quickly abandoned the idea, which would have tarnished His reputation, as His supreme god had arrived.

Like the glow of dusk before the sun dips below the horizon, Red Divine Light accompanied the arrival of a presence, covering the pale sky, making it seem as though the heaven itself was ablaze. Clad in armor and wielding a Great Bow, the avian-headed god appeared before Muria. The Divine Being whose Avatar Muria had just shattered regarded Him, bow drawn and arrow notched, not concealing His intention to kill.

Subjectively, He was very reluctant to make an enemy of Muria, who was clearly a formidable deity, but now that this god had invaded the Divine Kingdom of His subordinate, it was a total disregard for Him.

If He tolerated this, He would no longer have any standing within the community of Divine Beings, and would become a god bullied by other gods. Therefore, He had to respond with the firmest stance possible.

“Still an Avatar? Too timid to descend in Your true form?”

Muria noticed that the Divine Being wrapped in celestial fire, displaying murderous intent, was focused on something other than the task at hand. This action was interpreted as contempt by the Feathered Fire God and, indeed, was not far from the truth, as Muria indeed did not take this Divine Being seriously.

Although His primary goal was to escalate this situation to draw the battle towards this Divine Being and thereby seek an excuse to covet the Divine Office of “Flames” controlled by Him, it did not hinder His actions.

To Divine Beings within the Void, compared to those in the world, the difference was like that between lions and sheep. Whether a god could fight depended largely on the Divine Office they controlled, but possessing a Divine Office suited to battle did not guarantee prowess.

In Muria’s eyes, the one before Him with bow drawn was clearly one who could not fight. His mannerisms revealed His unfamiliarity with combat between Divine Beings, especially those of equal rank.

Whoosh!

The Red Arrow released from the Feathered Fire God’s Great Bow, the crimson glow in the sky spontaneously gathered around the projectile, enhancing its might and causing the arrow to swell as it flew.

By the time it reached Muria, the arrow had grown to a kilometer in size, its condensed power starting to affect the balance of the Divine Kingdom’s space.

But Muria faced this arrow with composure, gripping the Prison-suppression halberd in one hand, He simply thrust forward lightly…
