Chapter 1324: Chapter 1309: Excuse for Slaying a God Chapter 1324: Chapter 1309: Excuse for Slaying a God “Father, didn’t you say you wanted to conquer the domain where my brother is? Why haven’t you started yet?”
In the splendid city floating under the azure sky, a seemingly naive and romantic girl asked the being seated on the Divine Throne, her tone tinged with impatience.
“It has already ended,” Muria opened his eyes, looking at the slightly naive girl in front of him, a hint of indulgence appearing on his face, “The domain where your brother resides has already submitted to me.”
“Ah! When did this happen?” Tiffany, who ran to inquire, was somewhat confused.
“Just yesterday.”
“How did I not know? And I didn’t see you take action, Father!”
“That place was too weak, it didn’t need my direct intervention, I sent Auston there and they surrendered.”
Muria responded with a smile. In fact, he had indeed taken action, the reason he only sent Auston the dragon was that he had already used the Luo Tian Mirror to probe heaven and earth and fully understood the situation there.
He naturally remembered that his own place of birth was a realm with legends of the Dragon King, but after investigating, Muria was greatly disappointed to find that while there were indeed traces of Divine Beings or Epic entities, they were merely traces, with no entities of that level present.
“Ah! That was too easy!” Tiffany exclaimed, “Ketiya will definitely be disappointed!”
“There’s nothing to be disappointed about. I have already chosen the real target! The gods that appear there are numerous, and one can easily encounter a deity by merely strolling around there.”
“Which place?” Tiffany asked, immediately curious.
“The center of this great world, of course. This is just my guess, but even if it’s off, that place is certainly one of the cores of this world.”
The target Muria mentioned was naturally his student Jiuli’s homeland, which connects to hundreds of domains of the Cluster World scattered across the Void. It consolidates the dispersed worlds into one, allowing resources to converge, and is destined to become the vortex of conflict of this world in the future. The ambitious will inevitably be drawn into it, and Muria would not miss it.
Jiuli’s homeland, to put it plainly, is a battleground crucial for strategists. If he could use it as a springboard to attack all connected domains, he would essentially be able to become the top entity of this great world.
“Speaking of which, my student’s divine position seems to be [Water][Earth][Creation], which almost completely overlaps with mine!”
Thinking of his next target, Muria naturally thought of his adoptive student and started pondering how to deal with this student.
He certainly wanted his student’s divine position; there was no doubt about that. However, did he need to turn against this student over it? That was certainly not necessary, as this matter was not unsolvable, there was still room for negotiation.
The overlap of his student’s divine position with his was not some coincidence, but an inevitability. Due to his greed, at least half of the Divine Beings in this world had conflicts of divine positions with him. If one also considered the network of relationships and the circle of interests among Divine Beings, he was essentially in opposition to all the Divine Beings in this world.
“I need to plan this carefully!”
…
The temple, rugged and ancient, carried an air of primordial essence yet appeared grand. A gentle breeze wafted through, causing the copper bell used for blessings to sway slightly.
In the center of the temple, the blurred idol with the half-human, half-snake form began to shimmer with a warm luster. This idol, worshipped day and night by tens of thousands, seemed to come to life. No, it had indeed come to life.
The stone idol gained the texture of flesh and the breath of life; amidst the devout worship of many who had rushed to the scene, it transformed into a vivid deity with a human head and a snake body, then looked outside the temple with a hint of wariness.
“Not bad, you’ve really elevated your use of divine power,” said a young man with flowing black hair, stepping into the temple under the mixed gaze of astonishment and anger from the many priests. He then spoke with an irreverent tone to the deity they worshipped.
However, to the shock of many priests and the fortunate believers who witnessed the manifestation of their deity, the revered divine being, far from showing any anger, instead lowered its head, “My modest means must amuse you, Teacher.”
“This is no modest means,” Muria shook his head. The divine beings, despite their limitations, held not insignificant power.
For instance, every deity of faith could attach their consciousness to any idol that was worshipped. If the idol accumulated enough power of faith, it could even become a temporary avatar.
Muria had not yet mastered this basic ability of divine beings, simply because he had no believers. Of course, a deeper reason was his wariness towards the power of faith; he was somewhat reluctant to engage with it.
“Teacher, you flatter me. However, I’ve noticed that you seem a bit off lately. Is something wrong?” Jiuli, whose will had descended into an idol soaked in the power of faith for years, looked at the young man in front of him, his expression subtle.
“As you see, I too have become a deity like you, though there are some differences between us,” Muria responded.
“Teacher, is this…”
“I didn’t come here for anything else, just to ask about the information on the deities you’ve made enemies with.”
“Uh? Teacher, why do you ask about that?”
“Though I am your teacher, I haven’t fulfilled many of my duties towards you. I’ve been reflecting deeply and thought I should do something a teacher ought to do, like helping a student settle a grudge.”
“That won’t be necessary!” Jiuli, after hearing Muria’s request, paused, then hastily declined, “I can handle it myself.”
“Handle it yourself? Till when? Don’t you see that the times have changed? Think about your own situation! Becoming a deity in such a short period is a creation of the changing era.”
“…” Jiuli fell silent, knowing that luck played a significant part in his rise. To put it bluntly, he was like a pig standing at the windward of a new era.
“The divine enemies you’ve provoked, if even one of them gets lucky like you, you’ll be in big trouble. Hence, after making enemies, it’s best to find a chance to finish them off early.”
“But Teacher, having you stand up for me, I truly feel somewhat uncomfortable.”
“…What are you hesitating for, thinking I’ll suffer a loss by helping you? You think too much; let me tell you the truth, I was just looking for an excuse anyway.”
