Chapter 1298 - 1298 1284 Stab Her a Few Times With a Sword
Chapter 1298: Chapter 1284: Stab Her a Few Times With a Sword Chapter 1298: Chapter 1284: Stab Her a Few Times With a Sword How many laws does it take to construct a world? Only the ruler of a world can know this, and even then, it’s the kind of ruler who has controlled the world for hundreds of thousands of years that would truly understand.
But one thing is certain, even the weakest of worlds is built on laws that number in the tens of thousands, an amount so terrifying that not even the gods, who have achieved eternal life through the power of a world, dare to imagine it.
Yet, this is the very challenge that every Epic who wishes to ascend to the second realm must confront. Pseudo-realm, as the name suggests, requires every Epic to refine their controlled semi-plane to the level of a full-fledged world in order to advance to the second realm.
This process is impossible for any Epic to complete alone; they must continuously observe and study the laws of one or multiple worlds in order to construct the laws of their own world.
This process, known as pseudo-realm construction, is extremely lengthy. For an Epic must at the very least master the laws that build a world, an unavoidable step in their journey. Even if they could find shortcuts, they would inevitably have to walk this path earnestly to its end.
And pseudo-realm is the most unique stage within the Epic Realm. Because the upper and lower limits within this realm can be stretched to a dreadfully vast chasm.
After all, a great world and a small world might both be considered worlds, but they are fundamentally incomparable, operating on an entirely different level from each other.
If there were Epics who attempted to create a great world and consistently pursued it, their combat power would reach an exaggerated extent, allowing them to stand unfaltering even in the presence of an Eternal Realm being.
However, such anomalies theoretically exist only because the smarter move is to ascend after creating a sufficiently prosperous and vast world.
Expanding the scale of a world can continue after ascending to a higher plane and is not interrupted by the advancement, so Epics that could meet Eternity without bowing only exist in theory.
However, due to the peculiar nature of pseudo-realm, among peers, there may well be monstrous Epics capable of facing a hundred foes alone. Such monsters, while theoretically possible, typically reside in obscure legends.
After all, at the level of an Epic, who is to say one is much inferior to another? The difference among Epics tends to be a matter of accumulation. It’s nearly impossible within the same tier for someone to completely lack the power to counter or defend.
…
“Turns out to be a ruler with a bit of depth, not bad!” Empress Candice’s eyes lit up as she saw the world projection behind Muria, as it indicated that killing Muria would yield a greater harvest, one that would amply compensate for her expenditures.
With that, she made her move, which immediately drew the attention of a mother. The graceful Golden Dragon Mother abandoned all other insect foes to fly towards the Insect Queen.
She had watched how her Son had been put in a tight spot against this Insect Queen with perfect clarity; she knew full well that her Son was no match for the queen, and of course, neither was she.
However, her approach was not meant for combat with the queen but to stall for time, hoping for a Titan to descend, at which point everything would be resolved.
“Presumptuous.” Seeing the Golden Dragon Mother approaching, Empress Candice chuckled disdainfully, yet there was a solemn glint in her eyes,
“A similar aura!”
She could sense a resemblance between the auras of the three rulers in the field, which implied a very similar bloodline among them, the implications of which were quite disturbing to contemplate.
Yet Empress Candice was unconcerned. After a moment of hesitation, she solidified her resolve to annihilate all three rulers in one fell swoop, confident in the backing of even stronger progenitors to handle any consequences.
“Ah, Little Muria, I’ve really bled this time, so you had better compensate me in the future!”
Through the Dark Void, the Dragon King glided past the terrifyingly vast Bug Tide, looking at the Insect Queen who was stepping forward in the darkness. Although she was infinitely small in comparison to the massive Insect Planet, in her perception, their statuses were entirely reversed.
“How do you plan to stop me?” Candice addressed the Dragon King blocking her path. Of the three rulers present, she was the weakest in strength. Candice could easily discern her intentions; to stand against a being of her level, the ruler would need to draw upon the foundation she had accumulated over time.
“Go ahead and enjoy yourself for now; you’ll soon get what’s coming to you,” the Golden Dragon Mother huffed. She was aware that amongst the Epics, her foundation was relatively shallow, yet she had her own reserves to call upon.
Boom!
A rift tore open beside the Golden Dragon Mother, and a divine and sacred light bloomed within this fracture, out of which emerged a Divine Being of indistinct features.
Divine Might spread out in the Void, causing the weaker insects around the Golden Dragon Mother to instinctively retreat. It was a natural response from lesser beings, and soon, dictated by the commands etched into their bloodline, they couldn’t control their bodies and surged forward, only to be incrementally erased by the blossoming Divine Light under the gaze of the Insect Queen.
“A Deity?”
Seeing the depth revealed by the Golden Dragon Mother, Candice’s half-masked face showed a hint of surprise, quickly returning to normal. A deity demonstrating power in the Void was rare, but not particularly noteworthy if supported by an Epic.
“What use is such a weak deity?”
“How is it useless?”
The Golden Dragon Mother snorted softly, controlling the body of the deity completely under her power to burn. Pure white flames made of the faith of beings blazed upon Its body, with the devout sounds of sacrifice echoing in the Void, adding an extra touch of holiness.
“That’s it?” Empress Candice of the Insect Race tilted her head, observing the deity whose aura became increasingly dangerous as It burned itself, “Then I’m afraid you’re going to be disappointed.”
The Golden Dragon Mother didn’t reply, but biting back her heartache and grinding her teeth, she turned the completely burning deity into a one-shot attack. Thus, a vast Divine Light pierced through the Void, striking at the Insect Queen.
Facing an attack from a deity burning up Its own existence that shook the Void itself, Empress Candice neither dodged nor avoided, because there was no need to; the attack had completely locked onto her the moment it manifested.
Boom—
The holy brilliance engulfed Empress Candice’s not-so-tall divine body, swallowing her entirely and spreading outward from her as a core, inflicting harsh scorching injuries on the insects that had gathered around their queen, eliciting piercing screams.
And as everything began to return to calm and the vast Divine Light gradually dissipated, a slender figure appeared in the feverishly array-constructing Golden Dragon Mother’s field of vision.
Although the Divine Light hadn’t settled completely, the Golden Dragon Mother could clearly sense that the aura of this being hadn’t fallen, and one might even say it hadn’t been affected at all.
“Ran into a tough one, explodes with a deity’s self-destruction and still nothing.”
Seeing the upshot of her playing her last card only resulting in this scenario, the Golden Dragon Mother couldn’t help but tug at the corner of her mouth, her movements becoming faster. She had to fulfill her duty as a mother.
“I thought you would use this deity to entangle me, but you were generous enough to let It self-destruct. If I’m not mistaken, that was the deity’s original body that just self-destructed, right?”
Draped in black-gold insect armor, her shapely and straight legs took a step forward, the fading Divine Light wiped away completely by her footfall. The powerful empress looked at the Golden Dragon Mother, curiosity in her eyes,
“A sealing array? Specifically for me? But what can you alone as a Lord do?”
“A lot.”
The Golden Dragon Mother sighed with some dissatisfaction, then extended her claw and lightly tapped, releasing endless golden array patterns that spread from her towards the Insect Queen. In the blink of an eye, a powerful sealing array took shape.
“Looks pretty good, but I told you, you alone are not enough.”
Empress Candice took a step and the Void trembled. The sealing array that the Golden Dragon Mother had poured all her lifelong knowledge into constructing began to shudder.
“Interesting? How long can you trap me?”
The empress took a second step, a third step… until the seventeenth step, the sealing array collapsed because it depended on the Golden Dragon Mother herself, which was far from enough.
Spurt!
In the instant the great array shattered, the Golden Dragon Mother was backlash-injured. Her Dragon King’s Body sustained instantaneous damage, dragon scales cracked, and golden dragon blood splattered.
“Enough!”
The Insect Queen, who had broken through the sealing array, reached out towards the Golden Dragon Mother. Her small palm magnified infinitely in the eyes of the Dragon King, encompassing everything in front of her, and just as the Dragon King was about to accept her fate, an angry shout sounded in the Void.
“Don’t touch her!”
A blade that spanned the Dark Void struck towards Candice, and the Empress, who had been advancing from the beginning, retreated for the first time, turning her gaze towards the Titan wearing Broken Armor, with a crown-like Dragon Horn on his forehead.
“Cut down another one of my generals, you’re quite something, I’m growing more fond of you.”
The empress, who watched another one of her generals lie slain in the Void, wasn’t angered, even showing a bit of pleasant surprise.
The stronger Muria was, the stronger the Insect Race would be after she obtained Muria’s Body of Myriad Spirits to base her creations on, and the more her power would grow. After all, creating Insect Race beings with Epic level combat strength wasn’t something she could just decide to do.
“Are you ready to bear my wrath?”
Muria, sweeping his gaze over the heavily injured Golden Dragon Mother, lifted the sword in his hand, his gaze icy cold, full of killing intent. Even if he couldn’t win, he was going to stab the empress a few times.
