Chapter 1241: Chapter 1228: Remnants of the Ancient Gods Chapter 1241: Chapter 1228: Remnants of the Ancient Gods “Warning: Detection of True God-level power fluctuation has occurred, please take timely precautions!”
Within a planet-class battleship as vast as a floating continent, capable of completely obscuring a megacity with a population of tens of millions, a piercing alarm sounded.
In the battleship, countless graceful and slender-limbed Yuguang people scampered about like panicked small animals. A mix of questioning and commanding voices, steady, panicked, or stern, rang out, each tinged with an unmistakable undertone of fear.
This was a normal reaction for a civilization that had encountered deities and had clashed with them; they knew the might of divine beings, and had endured the harm they could inflict. That’s why they were afraid.
“Where did the True God-level fluctuation originate?”
“Report: at the entrance of world 0072.”
“What’s the situation? Didn’t we just send a squadron there?”
“Yes, according to the report from the local observer, an extremely powerful otherworldly organism appeared there.”
“But now True God-level fluctuations are being emitted from there. Contact the squadron—if they can still be reached—I need to know exactly what’s happening.”
“Report: we have lost contact with them.”
“Hmm.” The commander, who should have been outraged by such nightmarish news, remained unusually calm; facing a True God, such casualties were insignificant.
“Commander, what should we do?”
“Observe, of course. We’ll decide whether to retreat based on the situation.”
“Aren’t we going to rescue the squadron that lost contact?”
“Encountering a True God, what is there to rescue? We are but a vanguard; we do not possess the might to confront a True God.”
“I understand!”
The Yuguang civilization fleet, having arrived from afar, was on high alert due to the sudden appearance of True God-level power fluctuations. They felt fortunate that the fluctuations persisted for only a short while before disappearing.
Nevertheless, after much deliberation, the fleet sent out a team of unmanned detectors to investigate the sea area where the True God-level fluctuations had emanated from.
It struck the Yuguang people with astonishment that the Exotic Gate that should have touched the heavens and the earth had vanished. All that remained was a seemingly far too ordinary sea area, without a trace left behind.
…
“Teacher! You…”
The snake-bodied Earth God was stupefied as he watched the Golden Light that permeated heaven and earth slowly retract into the chest of the Golden Dragon. It was not until then that Jiuli, finally able to move, promptly spoke out.
“I have eliminated a calamity for you. For the time being, this civilization won’t be able to trouble you again,” said Muria, who, for the first time in the great world, had unleashed the power of his true form, erasing the natural spatial tunnel between the two domains.
“But how do I go back home?” Although astonished by the scene he had just witnessed, the young man, who already had some inkling, was more concerned about how he was to return home.
Because what he truly valued and was willing to fight for, the source of all his energy, lay in another ordinary world, not in this one that could make him extraordinary.
“As long as you can become a True God, finding your way home is easy,” Muria said with a teasing tone, laughing as he saw that even though the youth had undergone earthshaking changes, his original intention had never altered.
“That’s not easy at all.” Hearing what his Teacher had said, the youth’s face instantly fell. By now, he had come to roughly understand what it meant to be in the realm of a True God.
“For you, it’s indeed not simple, but it’s not hard either. Given your pace, it won’t take long for you to become a true Divine Being.”
After trying to use his True Form’s power once, Muria looked upon this now independent great Domain and could be certain that no Deity existed here. Perhaps there had been one, but not anymore.
In a world without other gods to compete with or suppress him, an Earth God who already possessed a certain degree of divine power would have no trouble conquering a civilization that was significantly less advanced. It was just a matter of time.
“Teacher, there must be another way? If you can erase the Exotic Gate, then you must certainly be able to send me back,” Jiuli asked, careful and hopeful.
“Why should I send you back? This place is safe for you and will allow you to become much stronger in a short period. Your homeland, on the other hand, not only lacks any potential for development but is also teeming with dangers, with the risk of perishing at any time.”
“But that’s where my mother and my girlfriend are. I can’t abandon them.”
“Oh, come on, look at you. Are they newborn babies? Incapable of taking care of themselves, of living independently?” Muria scoffed, seeing his student’s worried demeanor.
“Teacher, I’m begging you, please let me go back just once! Save them once, even if you have to lock me up here afterward, at least let me explain to them so they won’t worry about me.”
In front of the Rashas, the majestic Earth God appeared like a child when facing Muria, with a pleading look in his eyes.
“If you don’t want them to worry about you, then you better hurry up and do what you need to do, instead of wasting words with me here.”
At this moment, Muria was exceptionally unsympathetic. The bonds of mortals are precious and luxurious for Divine Beings, and such ties can sometimes be fatal for them.
“Teacher, I implore you!” Jiuli still remained unmoved by Muria’s words; all he could think about was hurrying back home.
“You really are annoying with that temperament of yours.”
“Teacher, you’ve agreed?” Jiuli looked up in surprise.
“When did I agree?” Muria shifted from his Golden Dragon form to his human form, hands clasped behind his back. “Jiuli, I am your Teacher. It is my duty to teach and solve doubts, but it is not my obligation. I am not your parent and have no responsibility to offer you unconditional support. So if you want my assistance, you must offer something that intrigues me.”
“Something that intrigues you?”
“That’s right, think carefully. You’ve just seen my true form. Do you think you have something that can intrigue me?”
Even though it was just for a moment, Muria who had shown his Titan True Form to his student, looked at him with an amused smile.
“Yes!” Jiuli furrowed his brow in hesitation for a moment before answering decisively.
“Oh?” Muria’s eyebrow arched.
“Three months ago, I led my tribe to conquer a group of islands, and there I found the Remnants of an Ancient God. I am willing to offer this as the price for your aid to send me home.”
