Chapter 1242 - 1242 1229 Divine Armor
Chapter 1242: Chapter 1229: Divine Armor Chapter 1242: Chapter 1229: Divine Armor “Ancient Gods?” Upon hearing his student’s words, Muria immediately shook his head, “Impossible, even if Ancient Gods fall, they would not leave behind remains.”
Ancient Gods are sublime beings born simultaneously with the world, unbound just like epics, and possessing endless lifespans. Thus, if they do fall, it is always in an abnormal way.
In the face of the remnants of Ancient Gods, the entities capable of killing these Gods could not possibly remain indifferent. Even if a very special circumstance occurred, and the remnants of an Ancient God fell into the world, they couldn’t possibly exist, as the world would instinctively “digest” them away.
“Teacher, you must believe me; that is definitely a remnant left by an Ancient God.” Seeing Muria’s denial, Jiuli became anxious, “You can come with me to the islands, and you’ll know as soon as you see it.”
“Alright, then I will make the trip with you.” Muria thought for a moment, and since he had nothing else to do, he agreed to take a look at what his student described as the remnant of an Ancient God.
These kinds of things that could strengthen one’s power or foundations are exactly what one seeks in an epic infiltration of a vast world, capable of producing treasures beneficial to deities and epics abundantly; only a vast world can.
Upon hearing Muria’s agreement, Jiuli, unable to wait any longer, eagerly pointed out the direction. The temptation to return home surpassed everything, and the Earth God, whose only way back home was cut off, couldn’t wait to take his teacher to see the islands he had just conquered.
He didn’t even have time to comfort the believers who had been devastated by the Yuguang Civilization’s battleships. These La-Xia people, as his foundation for his existence as a deity, weighed less in his heart than his family.
…Two rays of light streaked across the sky, with one black and grey light slightly lagging behind the dazzling gold light.
“Hold your horses; I still need to pick up someone.” Muria, rushing through the sky, saw the eager Jiuli and reassured him with a smile.
“Who are you picking up?”
Muria didn’t answer but brought Jiuli to a desolate island where a demigod had once fallen. Then, a slightly irritable young girl because of the wait dashed over.
“Where have you been? You ran off without explaining, and you brought someone else? Is this another relative of yours?”
The girl came to Muria’s side and immediately noticed the special existence with a serpent body next to him, feeling a faint oppressive aura emanating from his body.
“Let me introduce you; this is my disciple Jiuli, an Earth God who will soon become a True God,” Muria pointed to Jiuli, introducing him to Areina, then he turned to Areina, introducing the girl to his disciple,
“This is my mother.”
Muria’s words exploded like a thunderclap next to Jiuli’s ear, and he looked at the girl in shock, unable to comprehend how a girl, whose power seemed merely decent, could possibly be his teacher’s mother, an utterly irrational occurrence.
Initially, he had guessed there was a high probability she was his junior disciple. Reality proved his guess completely wrong, but he couldn’t be blamed; who could have thought this might be the case?
“Don’t be too surprised; she is the reincarnation of my mother. Her current weakness is only temporary. Once my mother’s consciousness awakens, her power can reach my current level in a short time.” Seeing his student’s dumbfounded face, Muria satisfyingly added this explanation.
“So that’s it.” Hearing Muria’s words, the young man’s face finally relaxed, making sense now. As for reincarnation, that too was within his understanding.
“Let’s go!” Muria gestured to the young girl.
“Where to? What for?” Areina curiously examined Jiuli while asking Muria.
“My student, Jiuli, claims to have found the remains of an Ancient God; I intend to go check it out now.”
“Can even a god fall?” Hearing Muria’s words, this was the first thought of the young girl Areina. Although there were no deities in her homeland, in her impression, deities were immortal.
“Of course, gods can die too.”
Muria led Areina onto the back of a Winged Serpent Dragon that had just crawled over and guided the Dragon Beast to fly up into the sky, while Jiuli hurriedly followed.
“You have developed quite well over these years!”
Standing on the dragon’s spine overlooking the sea area sprinkled with islands below, Muria saw the power of faith emanating from these islands, and unlike the scattered faith he had first seen, it had now fully unified, ultimately belonging to his student, Jiuli, next to him.
The expansion of faith, along with the strengthening of divine power, translated and elevated the divine power they possessed. Conquest is the fastest way for a deity to become stronger.
“As long as the teacher is pleased!” Hearing Muria’s praise, even Jiuli, whose thoughts had already drifted home, smiled.
“When did I say I was satisfied?”
“Uh, Teacher…”
“I ask you, have you conquered all the Raxa tribe?”
“Not yet, according to my survey, I have conquered about one-third of the entire Raxa tribe.”
“If you hadn’t received my gift, your development to this stage would indeed be commendable, but since you have already obtained the essence of a demigod, you should not stop there. You should achieve greater deeds.”
“…Teacher is right.” Jiuli, who understood that fists meant reason, admitted his mistake very honestly, without any intention to argue.
“Don’t feel wronged. I understand those Raxa people who believe in you. Although before you, the beliefs of the Raxa tribes were chaotic, they were very easily united as long as they could be overpowered with strength, without considering anything else.
Therefore, I should see better results. But you have disappointed me, which shows that you have not focused all your energy on improving your strength; your energy has been dispersed.”
Not long after Jiuli bowed his head and honestly received his training, an archipelago that seemed lush and vibrant with vegetation appeared before Muria. Merely from an overlooking perspective, Muria felt an air completely different from other islands.
“I’m starting to believe what you said.”
Muria carefully felt this air for a moment, then smiled, although he still didn’t believe that the remnants of ancient gods would exist here, but there were definitely some unusual things here, that much was certain.
“Of course, I wouldn’t deceive you.”
Jiuli brought Muria down to the largest island of the archipelago, where they saw a huge relic being cleared by thousands of short, yet extremely strong, green-skinned Raxa people.
“Teacher, look, according to my guess, this relic should be the temple of a fallen ancient god. Before I conquered this place, the Raxa people living here regarded it as sacred ground and dared not desecrate it.”
“And after you conquered here, you had them dig it up!” Muria watched the scene before him with great interest.
For he saw something in the bodies of these excavating or patrolling Raxa people, something that other island Raxa did not possess, a biological organization impossible for ordinary Raxa.
“After all, it’s what the old god left behind. As a new god ascends, I naturally need to overturn the old god’s beliefs left in their hearts.”
Jiuli answered somewhat shyly, lacking empathy for these ugly Raxa due to his appearance, managing them with the mentality of a shepherd tending to sheep.
“What are these things? Don’t tell me they evolved naturally.”
Muria examined the Raxa people who, because of Jiuli’s arrival, were kneeling and daring not to speak rashly. On these people, whether it was a single arm, pair of legs, or even their entire body except for the head, all were encased in special biological armor.
“This is a tool, or rather a weapon, created by the fallen ancient god for his Raxa believers.”
Noticing his teacher’s intrigued expression, Jiuli explained, feeling slightly pleased with himself.
“Biological weapons! Not bad, a god with ideas.”
Seeing the biological armors owned by the Raxa people to various extents, but universally possessed, Muria expressed his admiration.
Powerful extraordinary powers are not solely used in war or slaughter, but can also improve productivity when civilizational development lags behind.
This likely fallen deity is a visionary god, who utilized divine power to create a large number of special species capable of symbiosis with the Raxa, forcibly elevating the entire tribe’s tier.
This action can only be described as beneficial without any harm; as productivity increases, so does the population, and more population means more power of faith.
Just on this point alone, this already deceased deity is superior to most divine beings in Elasia.
“Come, let’s take a look at the remains left by this deity. It’s really a pity that such a visionary god has fallen.” Ignoring the unusual gazes from the recently conquered Raxa, Muria stepped into the temple.
Then, guided by Jiuli, he saw in the center of this massive temple complex a huge coffin made of an unknown type of stone, engraved with very crude murals.
It likely described the feats of a deity who fought in all directions and was worshipped by various races, but Muria quickly lost interest as there was no useful information.
“Teacher, the ancient god’s remains that I spoke of are inside this coffin. I’ll open it for you, but be careful; this corpse is very special and consumes the vitality of all creatures.”
