Chapter 1164 - 1164 1151 Prayers from the Myriad Realms
Chapter 1164: Chapter 1151: Prayers from the Myriad Realms Chapter 1164: Chapter 1151: Prayers from the Myriad Realms “Wind King Hawk!” Muria looked at the Legendary Beast before him with a hint of surprise, yet he did not express too much enthusiasm; after all, it was just a Wind King Hawk, not its progenitor.
Once, before stepping into the Epic Domain, Muria longed for this Legendary Beast, hoping to win it over as an aid for himself; but, after he reached the Epic Realm, he basically lost interest in it. What he remembered was only the contract he had made with this Legendary Beast.
After all, this Wind King Hawk, which could only exert nearly god-like power within the world, was basically of no help to him now; as for Muria, its aesthetic value far exceeded its practicality.
At this moment, the ability of this Wind King Hawk to break free from the world’s constraints came firstly from its contract with Muria, and secondly because Muria wanted to find a partner, and then this Legendary Beast was brought over.
In all fairness, the bloodline of Legendary Beasts in the vast world is indeed top-notch, enough to parallel the Titans. In the world, Titans of the same level are not a match for these creatures favored by the World Will.
It’s precisely because of the heavy favor from the World Will that the Legendary Beasts fundamentally cannot leave the world; otherwise, a few more seats would need to be added to the top power ranks of the Erathia World.
Of course, there are ways around this issue, as nothing is absolute. As long as one holds the source power, they can realize anything they wish, including making contracts with the world.
“Lord Muria…” The Wind King Hawk began to call out Muria’s name as it saw him standing in the Void, his Titan true form entwined with the Titan’s signature Golden Thunder, but under the unconsciously released oppressive aura from Muria, it added a title of respect.
“Mhm!” Muria responded with composure, recognizing that this Wind King Hawk seemed still a bit unaccustomed, as after all, the millennia meant nothing to such beings with virtually unlimited lifespans.
However, when it awoke to find that beings that once had to treat it with the utmost respect had become powerful existences before which it had to bow, it still felt somewhat awkward.
“How do you feel now? You once told me that the world was but a cage to you. Now that you have come to this boundless Void, you can gallop to your heart’s content.”
“Lord Muria jests.” Hearing the words spoken with a smile by Muria, the Wind King Hawk lowered its head somewhat awkwardly.
It was not one of those fools ignorant about the Void. Since it had longed for the Void, naturally, it would investigate it. With its status in the world, accessing some basic knowledge about the Void was not difficult.
In the world, by virtue of being a Legendary Beast, it could go anywhere in the vast world. If daring enough, it could even stroll through the Divine Kingdoms of the deities, of course, providing they were the more amiable and benevolent ones. Were it to come across an Evil God or a deity of chaos with a screw loose, it couldn’t be certain what might happen.
Within the world, it could behave like a privileged second-generation, going anywhere it pleased, but in the Void, stripped of its status as one favored by the World, it was only a Legendary Beast of slightly larger size, facing dangers everywhere in the Void.
“Now that you have left the world and can fly freely in the Void, is there anywhere you wish to go, or do you have any plans?” Seeing the Wind King Hawk’s understanding of its own position, Muria asked again.
With pure white feathers, a long trailing tail, and an air of ethereality, the Wind King Hawk turned its azure eagle eyes, took a look at the Golden Dragon King watching it from the side, then at the Titan with a smile on his face waiting for an answer, and it finally made up its mind,
“Lord Muria, I have nowhere in particular to go, but I have heard that you are preparing to travel through the Void; thus, I request that you take me along, to join you on your journey.”
Hearing such an amiable response, Muria couldn’t help but turn his head to glance at Dimos. Without wondering, he knew for sure it was the work of his grandfather; otherwise, the Wind King Hawk wouldn’t have spoken with such modesty.
“What’s up? Why are you looking at me?” Noticing Muria’s gaze, Dimos asked with a smile.
“It’s nothing.” Muria’s gaze fell upon the handsome avian before him; the Wind King Hawk had a distinguished background, and it was quite humbling for it to lower its stance so much. Muria naturally didn’t want to dismiss its dignity, after all, its ancestors were not ordinary beings.
“To join me on my journey—do you intend to become my Follower, or are you planning to become my Minion?”
“Minion?” The Wind King Hawk raised its head to gaze at the Titan before it, its tail feathers moving without wind. Did this fellow know what he was saying, or was he overly confident in his own strength?
To claim it as his Minion was quite a bold statement. What was its origin? What was its identity? If not for the constraints of the world, its achievements would have been… Well, there was no use talking about that.
“If you choose to become my Follower, then when I am in need, you must fight for me. In exchange, within the Void, I shall protect you as much as I am able within my capabilities.”
Muria looked at the Wind King Hawk that seemed to be provoked by his words, extended his hand, and swirling Qi of the color blue rose in his palm, taking the shape of flames. This was one of the Laws he mastered, belonging to the Law of Wind.
“But if you choose to become one of my followers, I will grant you power, a powerful force you have never mastered, never even touched. How do you choose?”
“I…” The Wind King Hawk had intended to flatly refuse the offer to become a follower, but when it saw the cyan flames igniting in Muria’s hand, it hesitated, struggling to utter the words of refusal.
In its escape from the world’s bonds, it gained unprecedented freedom, but as a price, it felt a weakness it had never known before. It could no longer harness the Law Power of the world to grant itself the strength to confront deities head-on.
This sense of weakness gave the Wind King Hawk an urgent desire to acquire greater power in the shortest time possible. Then Muria presented it with this tempting choice.
The Wind King Hawk knew that with a single nod, it could receive the empowerment of the young Epic Titan before it and regain the power to defy the deities.
But the price for this power meant that a new layer of bondage would be placed upon it, fresh after gaining its freedom, although this new restraint was far less than the bondage of the world. At the very least, this bond would not affect its soaring through the Void.
“How goes your contemplation?”
“I choose to become your follower, my Lord,” the Wind King Hawk averted its gaze, not allowing itself to behold the cyan flame in Muria’s palm.
Yet even severed from the world, the Wind King Hawk still sensed the allure of the cyan flame on Muria’s palm, a very embodiment of the Law of Winds, and it felt a compulsive draw to it.
“Is that so? Well, that’s fine too!” Hearing the choice of the Wind King Hawk, Muria felt a tinge of disappointment internally, but he wasn’t surprised; after all, she was a Legendary Beast and also a bird.
The Wind King Hawk hoped to find its own fortune in the process of following him and then through that to achieve its Epic. It’s a perfectly normal desire; one should naturally avoid dependence if it’s possible.
But Muria couldn’t imagine, without the help of secret methods, how much hardship the Wind King Hawk had to endure to achieve its Epic, and even after that feat, how would it continue to grow stronger?
Choose the path of the Evil God? Heh, Muria could guarantee that if the Wind King Hawk dared to embark on the path of the Evil God, he wouldn’t hesitate to capture it straight away and stuff it into his world, turning it into nourishment for its expansion.
…
“Alright, everything’s ready; you may depart now.”
Upon the Hall of Transcendence, Dimos, Yarista, Akmonde, Aludiba, Michaela… All of Muria’s relatives still in Erathia World came to see him off on his first journey through the Void.
With a majestic flying beast perched on his shoulder, Muria looked around at his relatives. Farewell words had already been spoken, and now all he needed to do was wait for the stronghold of the Void, right beneath his feet, to activate and send him into the midst of unknown world clusters.
Indeed, he had no specific destination this time. The coordinates for reincarnation access to source power were privileges only Epic novices could enjoy; he was no longer entitled to such resources.
Where the Hall of Transcendence would send him, even if it was by a stroke of bad luck straight into the epic battlegrounds, he had to accept. Although the likelihood of that was virtually nil.
Just as Muria pondered his chances of bad fortune, of being transported to the epic battlegrounds, the Teleportation Array of the Void activated. A vast torrent of energy enveloped his body, then tore through the Void…
“This might as well be sending me straight into the epic battlegrounds!”
Within the boundless and endless dark Void, Muria trod a Golden Light path, wandering aimlessly, lamenting for what seemed an untold number of times.
He had not anticipated that this uncoordinated random teleportation would prove so unlucky. He was not sent to an epic battlefield, nor into any world cluster, but into the dark nothingness that lay between the world clusters, a place devoid of any material—a land of nothingness.
With no points of reference, Muria was forced to pick a direction at random and move forward, hoping to quickly arrive at the colorful and thriving world clusters.
Under the sole indication of time marked by the cycles of day and night inside his own world, it took Muria ten years of walking through the Void before he finally neared a world cluster.
Though darkness still surrounded him, the continuous echoes of dreamlike murmurs by his ears were subtly informing Muria that he was not far from the world clusters.
