King of Titans and Dragons
Chapter 1102 - 1102 1089 My Hero Their Nemesis

Chapter 1102: Chapter 1089: My Hero, Their Nemesis Chapter 1102: Chapter 1089: My Hero, Their Nemesis “We will soon approach the maximum range of the Gai Nation army archers. What should we do?”

“Ignore them. His Majesty has already given the orders. Tonight, these vicious wolves won’t interfere with us.”

“But if we bypass them and expose our backs to them, and if they decide to harm us, our casualties will be severe.”

“His Majesty has spoken. Are you questioning His Majesty’s command?”

“I dare not.”

“Then let’s ignore the wolves of Gai Nation. We have dealt with them for so long; there is some tacit understanding.”

The soldiers, with sharp eyes, charged in neat formations, managing not to let their arrangement scatter too much, even during the rapid advance.

These soldiers, dressed in white gold-edged armor, had cloaks of flaming crimson tied at their backs, their vast numbers forming a tide of red that spilled over from where heaven and earth met.

Facing this tide that seemed poised to swallow everything, the Gai Nation army, which should have stood like a solid dam against the red spread, did only one thing: they contracted their formation, cleared the path, and left every camp isolated, showing no intention of resisting the tide.

The red tide then passed directly through the Gai Nation army’s defenses and reached the base of the unguarded fortress wall of Stream Mountain Country, climbing swiftly up the wall, soon covered with the red reflection from the cloaks of the soldiers of the Crimson King.

Then came brief combat and continuous screams of agony, as the smell of blood began to permeate from atop the wall.

With a calculated intent against an unprepared foe, the soldiers of Stream Mountain Country were no match for the Crimson King’s army at the primary battlefield. When an already superior side launched a surprise attack on the weaker one, the battle outcome was utterly one-sided.

“Roar!”

Soon after, a rough roar filled the fortress of Stream Mountain Country as a gigantic beast with the body of a bull, the tail of a snake, double horns, and a single eye appeared—this was the awakened form of a powerhouse of Stream Mountain Country.

And when this giant beast, taller than the fortress walls, appeared, it immediately saw outside the walls the black “rocks” standing amidst the red tide, neatly arranged in several columns, immovably firm.

“Barbarians of Gai Nation, you dare betray me?” Seeing this, the powerhouse of Stream Mountain Country who had transformed into a giant beast realized immediately that Gai Nation had sold them out.

“Barbarians? Spit on it. I knew it. These folks never really regarded us highly.” Hearing the roar, the Black Armored General who stood in the watchtower spat out and said, “I felt a bit guilty at first, but now I don’t feel that at all.”

“Is it not only that you don’t feel guilty but also that you somewhat wish to join the fray?” asked the plain-clothes strategist beside him with a grin.

Following its roar, the giant beast plunged into intense battle as an angel clad in battle armor with wings sprouting from its back descended from the sky, exhibiting overwhelming combat prowess as soon as it appeared.

“Tsk, the Crimson King’s winged war general has come out. Although he’s smaller in size, his combat power is really something,” remarked the Black Armored General, unable to suppress his marvel at the disproportionate battle before him, despite having seen it many times.

Normally, combat power is related to size—the bigger, the stronger. Of course, this is not absolute, as shown by the ongoing fight: this winged angel, although not much larger than an average human, was overwhelming a mountain-like giant beast.

“The thought is there, but let’s forget it. My King has already issued a prohibition. We will not participate in this battle and are merely here to observe.”

“Heh, good that you know.”

“This is too lame; it hasn’t been long, and they’ve been chopped down like this.” The Black Armored General had stopped paying attention to his colleague and focused instead on the battle before him.

As the red tide surged into the fortress, ordinary soldiers had no strength to resist and were sliced down, yet the high-ranking officers of the Stream Mountain Country stationed here still had some capability to fight back. They manifested their awakened forms and engaged in a desperate battle against this army with unique powers.

But their resistance was merely a dying struggle. Before long, the entire fortress had been engulfed by the red tide, with nearly no soldier surviving within.

This scene was nearly identical all along Stream Mountain Country’s defense line against the Crimson King: smoke signal fires everywhere, battle fires burning. By the time the rulers of Xishan Country had realized what had happened, their entire defensive line had been completely ravaged.

But because Stream Mountain Country’s defensive lines had been annihilated rather than just breached, they remained unaware of this development for a while. At the onset of this attack, the ruling class of Stream Mountain Country was still indulging in dance and song.

And while the entire ruling class of Stream Mountain Country had yet to receive the news, thinking they had secured potent reinforcements for a substantial price that could withstand the Crimson King, hence resting easy, a scathing rebuke from Gai Nation directly plunged the entire ruling class into utter bafflement.

“Who can tell me what exactly happened at the frontline? Why would the King of Gai Nation suddenly hold me accountable?”

Still emanating the scent of women’s perfume, the King of Stream Mountain Country sat on his meticulously crafted throne, adorned with various rare gems, and questioned his ministers and nobles.

“My King, what did the King of Gai Nation hold you accountable for?” a pale-faced elderly minister with notably large eye bags tentatively asked.

“He is questioning me about what happened to the troops he had supported our country with. He wants to know why they’ve all lost contact with him overnight.” The King of Stream Mountain Country, who had just extricated himself from a group of women, said with a trembling heart.

“But aren’t Gai Nation’s troops all at the frontline? We haven’t done anything, so how could they suddenly lose contact?” a noble asked, puzzled.

At the same time, he felt uneasy because, in his view, the army of Gai Nation was the foundation for his secure and comfortable life. Without the protection of Gai Nation’s army, his luxurious life would vanish forever.

“That’s the biggest problem. To verify this, we also tried to contact our troops at the frontline, but all our forces have lost contact.”

“What?”

As soon as these words were spoken, the whole hall plunged into chaos, and the faces of many ministers turned deathly pale, knowing there was only one situation that could result in such a scenario.

“It can’t be, how could the Red’s army become so strong? How is it possible that they annihilated both our armies and Gai Nation’s in an instant?” a great noble murmured, his face pale, feeling like he was in a nightmare.

“Exactly, this is impossible.”

…Because Muria was thick-skinned and ruthless, despite initially pretending to ally then betraying Stream Mountain Country by stabbing them in the back. Eventually, he seized the opponent’s army first, leaving Stream Mountain Country utterly baffled.

When Michaela’s army arrived at the gates of the capital city of Stream Mountain Country, it truly dawned on the country that they had to face the reality of their nation’s impending doom, when before this moment, they had no mental preparation at all.

Three months later

The once resplendent capital of Stream Mountain Country was now turned into a living hell, a result not caused by Michaela’s forces, but due to the collapse of order that followed.

Once everyone realized that Stream Mountain Country was doomed, the established order disintegrated instantly. Before a new order could be established, the entire Stream Mountain Country fell into chaos, unleashing the innate evil in human nature, and thus, hell emerged.

“I sense the aura of chaos, which in Elasia World, would simply be a favorite haven for Abyss Demons! We need to restore order quickly.”

As Michaela approached the capital city walls of Stream Mountain Country and shared her vision with Muria, his voice tinged with emotion sounded in his wife’s mind.

“Muria, when did your heart become so dark? It was you and I who schemed against Stream Mountain Country together. Throughout it all, you’ve played the good guy and reaped plenty of benefits. Now you’re even lamenting. Isn’t all this your doing?”

“The emergence of this chaos indeed carries my undeniable responsibility; this was not my wish. I destroyed Stream Mountain Country’s order, leading to chaos.

But my original intention was to establish a stronger and more complete order. This would benefit everyone who survives, and their descendants will have a brighter future.”

“Have you ever regretted it? So many creatures died because of your whim.”

“There’s nothing to regret. I am a King, and I am only responsible for my own subjects. I will do this even more in the future.”

Muria’s calm voice resounded in Michaela’s ears, “Destroying Stream Mountain Country is advantageous for my nation, and it’s the trend of the times. That country was already at the point of inevitable downfall.”

“Sometimes I really wonder if you’re a descendant of the Golden Dragon.”

“You don’t have to wonder. Just come and see the country under my rule, and you’ll know. I am very good to my subjects.”

“That’s not necessary; I’ve seen it already. ‘Inner sage and outer king’, you’ve mentioned it before.”

“All I need is for my own subjects to praise me; how other nations view me doesn’t matter. If subjects from other countries praise my wisdom, it would actually be a terrifying thing for my nation.”

“Hero to us, foe to others? That’s not necessarily true. In situations without vested interests, being praised for your wisdom by other countries is quite impressive.”

“You said it yourself, there are no vested interests, so what’s there to praise?”
