Chapter 61: Try To Talk About It

Two weeks passed without Daren and Axel communicating like before. They both seemed to be silent to each other and only spoke when they needed something. Like where Daren was going, he was thirsty and other short things.

Actually, this made Daren couldn’t stand it anymore and wanted to talk to Axel as usual. However, the man didn’t seem to care about anything around Daren anymore.

He turned his head, watching Axel who was driving, because of what he said a few weeks ago, their relationship looked even worse than when they first met.

’He so never talks to me, tries to defend me or rub my head when I’m feeling down. How stupid, it’s all my fault...’ Daren thought and bowed his head while biting the tip of his thumb firmly.

’I wish I never found out about his pretense, if only I didn’t know, things wouldn’t be like this.’

He really regretted yelling at Axel, and didn’t want things to turn out like this. But he didn’t have the courage to speak to the Alpha. Even apologizing he was afraid that Axel would scold him.

While Axel himself also felt the same way, he was still quite angry that his concern was only considered a pretense.

However, sometimes he thought, is everything better like this so that his feelings for Daren don’t get so involved? Or should he fix everything?

’It feels so silly to be treated like this? Do I have to talk to him about this? I mean... It’s been two weeks, it’s not as bad as it was then,’ the Alpha thought as he tried to stay focused on driving the car.

He felt it was the right time because surely Daren wasn’t as angry with him as last time.

When he turned to talk to Daren, he gasped in shock at the blood on his lips and the man’s thumb running down his arm.

"Are you stupid?!" he snapped suddenly which took Daren by surprise.

He stopped the car on the side of the road which made the blonde Omega feel confused and a bit scared because of Axel’s sudden yell.

Without saying anything, the Alpha pulled his hand away and saw the blood on Daren’s thumb.

"What the hell did you bite your hand like this? I told you to stop doing it!" Axel noticed the blood that flowed a little without Daren noticing.

He’d been so frustrated, he’d unconsciously bitten his finger too hard and ended up hurting it. Whenever Daren felt nervous or frustrated, he always bit his thumb and Axel always warned him to stop that bad habit.

"I’m sorry... I just..."

Suddenly Axel was put Daren’s injured finger inside his own mouth, he could feel the Alpha’s tongue on his finger. Licking the blood and wounds he had.

"Mnnn... Axel..." His face flushed at the soft, warm feel of Axel’s tongue on his finger.

He took Daren’s thumb out of his mouth and licked his own lips. Axel opened the storage drawer in the car and took out a plaster.

With his eyes, Daren watched how Axel tried to treat his injured finger even though they were in an argument. But the man still cared about him.

’Have I been wrong all this time? Did I overreact to what I heard from Ivan? Axel wasn’t pretending but he was...’

Thump thump... Thump thump...

His heart was beating very fast when he thought about it. It was so hard to resist the attention Axel was giving him, because from the start his heart seemed to reject that Axel didn’t really care about him.

’His serious expression, his warm touch on my hand and the gentle movement of his hand on my finger. How do you really feel about me? Should I ask this?’ he thought again.

"Hey..." called Daren.

"What?" asked the Alpha as he looked at him.

"I... I’m sorry about what I said to you at the hotel. I got too carried away with my emotions from hearing how you thought of me as an annoying Omega. All this time I felt like we were close like good friends, but when I heard you say that, I felt very upset," the Omega explained and then lowered his eyes.

"I’m just afraid you’ve been tormented being around me. Hearing me talk or taking you anywhere. I just didn’t want to be hated by you, but I was wrong. I said something stupid to you and..."

"Forget it," Axel said and rubbed Daren’s head.

He looked into the eyes of the man before him with a gaze that seemed to be asking him not to hate him. A look that asked him not to leave him alone.

Seeing the pain in his blue eyes made Axel regret being angry with him. The look in those eyes made it so hard for him to ignore it all.

"You forgive me?" Daren asked again.

"Yeah, stop looking at me like that. You’re such a pathetic puppy," he replied then flicked Daren’s forehead which caused him pain.

He rubbed his forehead as he grumbled in annoyance. But suddenly he laughed because he was happy to see Axel back to normal.

"Hehehe... Alright."

His laughter made Axel squeeze the steering wheel so hard.

’Fool, don’t laugh as if nothing happened.’

The next night, Axel went to a bar to meet Wilfred because the man said that their boss left something with him for Axel.

Entering the bar, Axel was immediately approached by two Omegas.

"Hey handsome, would you like to use our services? It’s not expensive... As long as you can keep us satisfied, we can give it to you for free..." seduce one of the female Omegas.

"Right, we are ready to serve you later. We will do our best," said the male Omega who seduced him as well.

However, both of them received the sharp gazes of the two Omegas.

"Get out of my way," he said while emitting intimidating pheromones, making them both immediately scared and left him.

Axel then saw his best friend sitting at a table in the corner of the room. He raised his glass as if inviting Axel to drink with him.

"Why did you want to meet at this bar and not the usual one?" the Alpha asked with some annoyance as he was sick of smelling Omega everywhere in the bar.

"Ahahaha... Every now and then we look for a new atmosphere to unwind," Wilfred replied and poured a drink for his friend.

He drank the whiskey that was given to him. "So what did the boss leave for me?"

Wilfred smiled and took something out of his shirt pocket, placing an old cell phone on the table.

"Take this."
