Chapter 51: What Happen Between Me and Him, Isn’t Your Business

"You’re not starting to like him are you?" asked Ivan as he looked at Axel with a suspicious gaze. He knew that Axel hadn’t shown that he was interested in Daren, but Ivan felt suspicious after hearing Axel’s words.

Of course it immediately made Axel surprised and somewhat shocked because of the question that he was not used to hearing.

He liked someone like Daren? An annoying and very noisy Omega like him?

"You’ve got to be kidding, there’s no way I’d like an Omega like him. He’s nothing more than an annoying Omega to me," Axel replied with a dismissive smile, as if he was saying that it was impossible for that to happen.

Because he knew that he and Daren wouldn’t be able to be together given that he would eventually have to eliminate the man when that day came.

Ivan who heard it looked relieved, because he thought that Axel was involving his feelings in his work to protect Daren.

"Good then. You shouldn’t have feelings for your own employer, after all you can’t be together since your social statuses are so far apart," the Beta man replied with a sigh of relief.

The man even reminded him that Axel should keep his distance from Daren even if he didn’t like Daren. That was to avoid anything happening between the two of them.

However, the bodyguard did not agree with Ivan’s words to him. Saying that it was none of his business.

"Even if that happens, it’s none of your business, right? This is between me and that Omega. Betas like you don’t have any right to control my life or his," the Alpha continued, warning Ivan not to interfere between him and Daren.

He then walked away leaving the man to the other side of the pitch as he didn’t want to continue being around him. Ivan saw how Axel walked away with his hands clenched tightly into fists. Like there was something he had been keeping from the man all this time.

"You’d better keep your word, not to have feelings for Daren."

Finished with a game of tennis, Daren sat on a bench savoring the orange juice in his hand. Axel then sat next to him always leaning back.

"So the day after tomorrow we’re going to Mocoado? Don’t you have any filming or photoshoots scheduled?"

"Nothing for this week, but I don’t know about next week. We’ll be back before the week is out," Daren replied then turned to Axel who was closing his eyes, enjoying the wind blowing on them both.

His blue eyes gazed into the bodyguard’s face, his gaze dropping to his lips, where he remembered last night’s dream of Axel kissing him again.

’It was just a dream, but it felt so real. I remember the first time he kissed me, even if it was because of my pheromone heat,’ she thought at the time.

He seemed confused by his own feelings, he felt so comfortable when he was around Axel. Feeling protected even though he knew that the man had to protect him as a bodyguard.

But from within, he felt the protection Axel gave him was like an Alpha to his Omega. He felt understood, especially since Axel’s treatment of him was getting different every day. He gave him the kind of treatment he had never received since his brother’s death.

’He rubbed my head, patted it gently, he even wiped my tears. He even let me hug him once. I know it’s just normal treatment, but I don’t know why I was treated so special by him,’ he said inwardly as he recalled all these things.

Daren was worried that his feelings would grow, and it was obvious that he liked Axel. Not as an employer to his bodyguard, but as an Omega to an Alpha.

He wondered, did Axel like him too? He had said he didn’t like Omegas, but he had heard from others that one’s heart could change someday.

From all the way the man treated him, was it all just a normal thing he did or did Axel have some feelings for him.

’What if he doesn’t? What if his attention all this time is just because he knows he’ll get paid for being my bodyguard,’ he thought worriedly.

"Hey are you sleeping?" called Daren when Axel just stayed silent with his eyes closed.

And sure enough, the man didn’t say anything and just stayed still. Thinking the Alpha was asleep, Daren lightly touched his face and stroked the man’s bangs.

Just like Axel, Daren also found that when he was asleep, Axel looked very calm even though his eyebrows were still raised like someone who was very stern.

"You can let go of everything. Don’t think about anything, sleep peacefully so you won’t get tired easily," he murmured as he bravely rubbed his bodyguard’s head.

Somehow Axel slowly began to calm down and even his eyebrows looked more relaxed than before. Daren smiled and continued to rub his head. Letting the Alpha relax in his sleep and not think about anything heavy.

"Yes, just like that."

Not long after, Mike came over to where Daren and Axel were sitting on a park bench. As he looked from the front, he gasped in shock at the sight of Daren sleeping on Axel’s shoulder. They were both fast asleep, enjoying the cool breeze.

"Apparently they’re sleeping," muttered the ginger-haired man as he watched Daren’s face.

He took off his butler suit then covered Daren’s body with it.

"I’d rather see your face so calm like this, than you having to keep feeling the pain they’re always giving you." He reached for Daren’s cheek and rubbed it lightly.

A faint smile appeared on the Alpha’s face, then he turned to Axel who was next to him. Somehow his expression changed unlike Mike’s usual one.

His eyes were so sharp looking at the Alpha who had always been close to his childhood friend.

"I don’t understand how and what your purpose is in this family. But I hope you have no intention of betraying or hurting Daren."

"If you try to do so, I will make sure you leave this mansion with the same fear and pain as the Bodyguards before you."
